Train to Busan was so well done. So clean. No wasted moments. I watched because Gong Yoo was in it but loved it for itself.

Train to busan was the first korean movie i watched that introduced me my addiction with korean movies...my fav all time korean movies are train to busan, peninsula and parasite all of them are pretty amazing and enjoyable.

The only problem when i watch Korean movie is hard for me to memorize their name..

The problem with Hollywood movies is that there's not much emotional impact, you wouldn't care if the characters died...they invest too much on action but not on the emotions of the characters.

"Forgotten" is another extremely amazing and criminally underrated korean movie. The twists after twist could easily blow your mind. Worth watching thriller I'd say

Been a movie buff all my life. After watching parasite during the pandemic I have consumed so much Korean movies that Hollywood movies seem pretentious, lazy, and unoriginal. Koreans have set the standard for movies.

Korean dramas are always better in romance genre.. Whatever there is related to emotions and Koreans nail it.

Nowadays I don't like to watch Hollywood movies after watching Korean dramas and movies. I also don't know why.

Lets face it, Hollywood is not hard to beat now days. Hollywood is not the Hollywood of years past. I live a few miles from Hollywood, it's gone downhill. South Korea has produced some great movies that I've enjoyed very much. Keep up the good work.

My hat goes to “Train to Busan”. Considering this was the 1st Korean zombie movie, how could they make the best one? Cuz it’s lot more than zombies. This movie made a hole/void in my heart. Took long to ignore it...

A Taxi Driver is an absolute must see not only because it's an amazing film but to acknowledge the sacrifice of Gwangju citizens and students across korea who died fighting for democracy and how a single german repotter Jürgen Hinzpeter essentially saved south korea from dictatorship in 1980. Heartwrenching to see the real footage of what happened there

I agree with the title. I am a 53-year-old woman and I come from Poland. I started watching Korean Dramas and movies a year ago. And I can't stop! They are great!

my favourite is the movie called "The Call". It is so good but so underrated. People should really watch it more.

Korean movies should have their own genre. So realistic and beautiful story lines etc.

A movie I would have included Park Chan-wok’s “The Handmaiden”. And a I recently discovered “Swing Kids” is a undiscovered gem.

The Silenced (starring Gong Yoo) is also phenomenal, and sadly based on a true story. I recommend it to everyone

“Midnight runners” is great movie along with “forgotten”

Surprised that both "Oldboy" and "Memories of Murder" didn't make the list.

“Parasite” is the last movie I saw in a theater. Absolutely loved it. Bong is a great director. It’s a movie so rich in detail it’s worth viewing several times. The characters and setting are specific, but the story is universal. It’s awards and acclaim are well deserved. “Train to Busan” is the only zombie movie I have enjoyed in years. I have been Korean drama fans for years, since accidentally stumbling upon the sci-fi series “My Love from the Star”. I was gob smacked, nothing on American TV prepared me for it. I continued my journey in Korean drama and found another favorite “The Scholar Who Walks at Night”. It opens with a high dolly shot than pans down to a close up to the face of the vampire villain of the series. That sequence and lightning was golden age Hollywood technique at its best! No American TV is created with those production values. I tell my friends reading the English subtitles is a very small price to pay for excellent entertainment.

I'm really happy so many people mentioned ," memories of a murder". such an excellent movie and definitely on my top10 . But I'm a bit surprised no one mentioned a classic like, " Friend" .

A fact not mentioned is that Hope is actually based on a true story, what happened to the little girl is real which makes it even more heartbreaking. The guy that did it will be released in about 80+ days too, which i think is just disgusting...

I'm 76, an elderly lady, Irish American who stumbled on Korean Dramas 3 years ago "Heavens Garden" & have never gone back to American TV nor Movies. Korean Dramas are awesome!!

My favorite is The King and the Clown. I think it gets overlooked by western audiences because it is historical and hard to find.

Disappointed not to see Memories of Murder and Oldboy in this list.

I just missed Snowpiercer here. It is literally one of the best korean movie. Many people don't even know it is a Korean movie

Miracle in Cell No 7 is hands down the best movie I have ever watched and the only one where I cried so much I thought I would hyperventilate but VERY well done and there were also many places to laugh as well.

Korean film's are so hard hitting and realistic filled with lots of emotions ❤️.

I would recommend Silenced (The Crudible) with Gong Yoo for someone that wants something disturbing but definitely worth the watch to realize how dark society can be since it is based on real events.

So basically, any film with Song Kang Ho in it are good movies. 😁😁

THERE MUST BE SOMETHING IN THEIR KIMCHI 😆 The thing with Koreans is they have this marketable creativity -- from movies, music, dramas, variety shows --- heck, even commercials! I especially love how they come up with ideas in their variety and reality shows. Very fresh and out of the box.

the korean movie that i got hooked is “Brotherhood”, since then i started watching korean movies and tv series.

One of the best movies I've ever had the privilege of watching was The Taxi Driver. I cried like a baby, its so fkn' good and based on real life events. I got bored after watching all the latest Hollywood movies so I started watching Korean movies and wow, this is like our Forest Gump.

If you're a fan of CLOY, watch the negotiation. It's a good thriller-action movie starring hyun bin and son ye jin.

I’m not surprised.... everything in Asia is just better

Hollywood movies (and romcoms - i just had to add) are so common - when you have watched them all your life, you can always kind of predict what's coming up next or how it will end. Sometimes Hollywood movies won't end the way you thought it might - korean movies too. But somehow, however the ending of a good Korean movie will be; happy, sad, mystery, you will find the satisfaction from watching it, unlike Hollywood movies. That's just my personal thoughts on why people of the world are fed up with Hollywood products and turning to Korean movies and dramas.

Hollywood : avenger 1, avenger 2, avenger 3, iron man, spiderman, deadpool, aquaman, and friends..... Korean movie : parasite, train to busan, extreme job, taxi driver, the host, memories of murder, taekgugi, man from nowhere, along with gods, miracle in cell no.7....etc. Hollywood : let's make a remake from korean movie...
