I have probably only watch 2 American shows in the last 9 years. I don't miss Hollywood at all. The chemistry in Korean show is also so much better.

When it comes to realistic social movies, or series. Even romantic comedies. SK is definitely the best in the world right now. Korean dramas are really good! But Hollywood is better at making science fiction movies, animation movies, action movies and movies with good special effects.

Swing Kids takes number 1! I definitely agree... It is a bitter sweet movie, it is sad, but also joyful. The main lead Doh Kyungsoo is someone who's gaze leaves a deep impression on the viewers, and his acting here is superior. This is a must watch movie not only in korean cinematography, but also everywhere. Acting, photography, music, it was great. I didn't know he was part of EXO. Definitely a talented person indeed!

American movies = unnecessary sex car explosions constant bad language bullets flying everywhere crap storylines. Korean dramas = great stories good acting love, suspense, mystery, betrayal, virtue, charity, kindness, mild violence, tears, happiness, anger, jealousy, hope etc...you get the picture. No unnecessary sex No swearing Almost ALL of the dramas can be watched by the whole family!!!! Conclusion : Kdramas and movies are a different class above American crap.

Yeah, NO! Korean movies are great, but to spew "they're superior to Hollywood" is just, DUMB! Wishful thinking. Hollywood has the GREATEST movies EVER made. You know it. I know it. The whole world knows it! You all watched them and love them. All these KDramas are really great as well, but they're not in Hollywood's league no matter how you spin it. I mean, C'Mon.. Not an American or a korean and in my opinion Hollywood movies are far more better than Korea. I agree that there are many good Korean movies. Me too love movies like train to busan, swing kids ,snowpiercer, miracle in cell no 7,...But on comparing I will definitely tell that Hollywood movies are better and it has different genres of movies .

Silenced is one heartbreaking, stomach churning, thought provoking, sadistic yet heroic example of the worst and best of the human animal. What's even worse is that it's a true story. No need for a writers imagination because it was reality.

This year i have watched many Korean flicks and as said few were superior than hollywood. The korean cinema is full of surprise elements. Very well deserved oscar for best film in main category. I recently watched miracle in cell no.7 one must watch.

I stopped watching American drama and box office movies years ago. Kdrama and movies and even Kpop, so original, characters are deep and complex, story line is fresh, so aesthetically appealing, music is unique....... I can go on and on. Will never go back to boring American predictable overdone and over dramatic unbelievable ever again.

I studied Film and TV production and worked in the industry for years. So i see it from all different aspects. SCRIPT, Acting, cinematography, Direction, editing.. the whole lot.. And lately i peaked into a Korean filmmaking and Wooow. I MUST say its in different level i didn't expect.. When i look at all the aspects separately i must say its on different level. Its real and true filmaking. Its for advanced viewers with deeper values and qualities. Hollywood is Money making machine that doesn't care about the viewers, it cares about itself. Korean film is purely there to create connection with the viewers. And the message is more important to them , then oscars or fake story.. i was impressed.. And 1 film that impressed me is called "Commitment " its not mentioned here on the list.

i lost count how many times i've watched forgotten. my annoying brother and swing kids where amazing. moment to remember was painful to watch once i'm never gonna rewatch it. Midnight runners very antertaining, Snowpiercer interesting makes you think about a lot. don't know why but i can't stand "A werewolf boy" i guess it's just not for me. Okja and Silenced has been on my watch list for so long time to watch it.

House of Hummingbird, Miracle in Cell No. 7, The World of Us,... so many great Korean movies. These are just a few of my favorite.

Forgotten is a wowzah. The storyline is amazing. I always enjoy the male lead works especially in When the Camilla blooms and the Heirs. Midnight runners is so cool and hilarious but totally great to watch. Be with you hits close to home for me as I just lost my Mother in Law😭😢awesome upload as usual. Keep it up.

Swing kids is truly awesome movie. You must watch the movie. Kyungsoo’s acting and dancing are so impressive, outstanding.

I think one of the reason why Korean drama or movies are better than hollywood this day is because they really wanna make a good show. Not to please any side like the Hollywood do. I mean, Hollywood shows this day is more like to please people from each side and community which caused their storyline to be bad and stupid. Plus, the diversity in Hollywood now seem forced and silly.

At this point most are better than hollywood, even the tv series/dramas, more so the variety shows. The list here barely scratches the surface. I haven't watched western movies etc for a while now. When I do try to watch, they seem kinda inane nowadays, tasteless, boring.

After I've watched Korean series / films / variety shows during this pandemic period, I've totally lost my interest in watching hollywood shows. Korean directors have mastered close up shots which allow the viewers to feel the intensity of whatever emotion the actors/actresses are expressing.

I am proud that Do kyungSoo got two films to be recommended! He is talented and ambitious it will be lovely if you give "my annoying brother "and "swing kids" a try,you won't regret it!

I agree Korean movies& dramas actually have a storyline and are the only ones that have really engaged me. I love the ones where there is an unexpected twist. In Hollywood movies, you can generally guess the ending, but many Korean movies give a curveball. Would MyDramalist be able to do a list of movies with a twist at the end?
