My favorite thing about the show is that everyone has their spouse involved in the show and they find your characters repulsive. I'd like to see Emily Deschanel find Cricket on the side of the road, scars, burns, etc. and she just feels bad for the poor guy and tries to get him to go to the Catholic Charities soup kitchen but he doesn't want to go back because "they will recognize him".

The impression of ssundee was sooo accurate. I Hate. The massive overreactions, its exhausting. That's not a parent thing, it's just awful to listen to.

Manufactured enthusiasm is absolutely agonizing. I hate actors that do that, humanity hate people that do this.. The personal touches you all add to episodes and how your internal dialogues and worldviews seeped into the show really show where all the value comes from. Outright characters the lot of you. loving this podcast. Yes btw all the comments are gonna be here on this video

I think they are teaching our kids bad habits by displaying their own bad habits. My son wants to be a RU-vidr and I think he assumes to be one you have to display your anger very overtly to get your point across.

The more glenn talks about it the more I think he may have adhd lmao like I have it too and it's very common for people with adhd to have anger issues or to get easily affected by anything because our nervous systems are less flexible so it takes us longer to calm down and get over stuff lol

Looked up that SSundee youtuber since I’ve never heard of him and omg you hit the nail on the head! He’s one of those child-focus content creators that are making kids’ brains into mush. I do enjoy watching certain RU-vidrs play video games (Videogame Dunkey to name the funniest) but F#$* RU-vid for promoting these “child/family” channels that are crap and zero bit intelligent or inspiring for these young, impressionable minds. AND IM NOT EVEN A PARENT 😂

The only time I watch other people play video games is with Alien Isolation. I played that game obsessively for years after it came out, to the point where I got a bit sick of it. But now I get off on watching RU-vidrs playing it in the same way I get off on showing one of my favourite movies to someone who's never seen it - through their eyes I get to enjoy it anew. Also, I get to feel a bit superior because I know when they're going to fuck up. 🙂

Let's Plays (watching video games instead of playing them) are great for two reasons. 1. Some games interest you, but don't interest you enough to play them. Maybe it's the story, setting, or whatever. 2. Because horror games are scary and I'm gonna have someone else be the buffer between me and it. Otherwise I will never be able to complete it. I get paralyzed while playing Amnesia: The Dark Descent even before any monsters actually show up because they COULD be there. Although there's another reason, I suppose, that ties into it a lot more than that. It's just entertaining to listen to someone commentate on a game. Think of it like a podcast, but there's a video game to watch, and the topic is all about that. Or think about DVD commentary like for Always Sunny. You're listening to someone talk about the thing you love. I'll, a lot of the time, play a game I really like and then watch my favorite RU-vidr play it afterwards just to see what they thought about each part that I liked or didn't like. Or just watch them play an absolutely trash game for a little catharsis while they verbally (and maybe rarely physically if possible) rip it apart. As for why kids like really loud, obnoxious RU-vidrs, well... that's just kids. They don't have taste and they won't until they get older, at which point they will wonder why they ever liked an internet personality to begin with. Even nostalgia can't save that. EDIT: Oh wow, that impression was dead-on. I don't know the guy, but there are so many RU-vidrs like that who pander to kids. In fact, one of my favorite RU-vidrs was like that for a period of time where I just had to stop watching him. I came back to his channel a year or two back and he's way more mellow now, less inauthentic. Way more entertaining to watch.

I love how watching the show and understanding the characters is its own hurdle but once your over it it becomes the best sprint of episodes and seasons to binge. listening to the podcast is literally the exact same but understanding your not playing characters and the bond you guys have I'm guessing can never be figured out for some people.
