If limited income, room with folks to cut your rent, mortgage and expenses in half or by a third. Save what you can monthly and be consistent every month. Make an effort, to limit buying (ie. don't spend what you don't have), and definitely don't buy crap that will keep you in debt. Allow the 24 hr or 3 days "pause test" -- meaning give yourself time to think before buying big ticket or "want to have" items. Absolutely reward yourself, just have a plan and the means for that expense. Freedom is not being anchored to stuff or debt. Build wealth and save your $$$$$. Get that book, it's freakin awesome and also read Rich Dad, Poor Dad. Awareness = clarity and power. Thanks for reading cuz it was a long post 🤪
A powerful video! Thank you brotha! As a fellow Black male, I never negotiated my salary until recently. A lot of Black folks are raised with the humble notion of being thankful for what you get and accepting the offer at hand. For my recent promotion, I negotiated and gave myself a pretty good raise through a simple negotiation. This a is a powerful skill! I realized that it is always worth trying, even if you get rejected.
😅 love the humor, but respect the real message delivered ... as this is very true. Have a budget first and know where you dollars are being spent. Yes, definitely have a savings fund of at least 6-9 months or 3-6 months. Also, as our income increases, continue living as if it did not. You will thank yourself later. Thanks dude for spreadin knowledge to help folks take action and change their lives.
Another way to get ahead is to do everything that the man mentions, but also consider moving to a country where the US dollar is more valuable. That'll take time and resources, but there is a retired teacher living in Mexico who is living off her side hustle where she makes 30K a year and she is living pretty comfortably. There are always options.
@BlackExcellenceMedia 0 debt. All expenses have been taken off including mortgage, extra principle, insurance, tax, foods Transportation, birthday and xmas. So the $800 bi weekly will add up to the $12000 we have now until we hit 20k for emergency funds. Then I don't know what to do after.
