Reason was a pioneer when if first dropped but it gets slept on because it fell behind in terms of sequencing and midi editing about 10 years ago. But it’s always been an incredibly deep program and they are making up for lost time. The fact they made their own DAW a VST for other DAWs as well as still being a fully functional DAW (they implemented SSL emulation back in 2010!) is mind blowing. Their synths and effects have always been super powerful and stunningly CPU friendly. The VALUE of Reason remains incredible. A one stop shop for all your sonic needs.
Being a novice/hobbyist, there's plenty I don't know, lol. Acquiring Reason 11 has "taught" me that, apparently, "too much" compression is not a "thing"..? Each track has a compressor, there's another compressor AND a limiter in the master channel algorithms, and then after all that, engaging the master compressor still makes everything sound slightly better. I can't tell you how astonishing that seems to me, lol. But it works. It even makes ME sound sort of good, and I probably don't have half the technical talent on instruments that Sid Vicious had. Wish I had the free time to delve into the deep features. In my experience, trying something on the order of what I've just seen here typically results in no sound, or results in a synth drone that can't be stopped any other way than by deleting the track.
Decided to buy Reason 11, the intermediate version. One thing making it worth the money was I discovered they have their own built-in "Melodyne"... and it ACTUALLY WORKS. 😳 *I'm comin to join yuh, Elizabeth!!... *😱😃
@@dandecent you can use pitch edit on audio if it's set to vocal stretch & transpose mode, which is kind of like melodyne. It only really works with vocals though, since just about anything else doesn't respond well to the formant shifting from the vocal mode. Still really good, though
this is crazy-good shizz here, man!! very helpful, super-clear & succinct... loads & loads of great avenues of inspiration here. a thousand boatloads of thanks to you for this. bravo, sir!!
Hey buddy, nice video. But how about running a low cut on your talk mic around 100ish. Your mic is super bassy. But sweet video though. Thanks for posting this.
Hey man I'd love to see a video about sound design tips in Cubase, especially as stuff like routing/setting up LFOs is a bit more complicated than in software like Ableton
I have reason 11. But what everyone misses out to either explain r show is how to make your own sound.. like you said, combinators are awesome.. but what is awesome can get even more awesome.. in the beginning. I did not dare to touch any of the settings right. I was 17.. but now a days I always make a backup and then, try Everyting.. I mean even destroying those original sound. You should do a clip of testing boundaries of the combinator or even europa!!
Future video recommendation please :) complex-1 LOW PASS GATE LPG filters and routing. Also, just wanted to say you do a really good job using reason. You got good at Reason fast! That's amazing. Love the workflow taking use of all the effects and devices. And then using them in creative ways.
Thanks for the content. Hey. Where is your video on sound design for trap producers using phaseplant? Two things, please re upload and make another one using reason devices! 🙏
love the vids - but please make them at half speed... I play your vids at half speed and even then it's too fast to follow easily. Otherwise, the content is golden!
Is this your real voice or are you using some sort of vocoder or pitch modulation? Your voice doesn't match what you look like. Great vid but that voice is smooth.
help.. when i export song, it sounds compressed to hell. it sound great on my audio box. until i export to wave and play it back on laptop.?????? the volume keeps dropping when lets say, the drums kick in...yours sounds great. what the hell im i doing wrong
Your problem is with the Windows audio program. On My Acer it came with sound enhancement software. You want to check anything like that and turn it off.
