They should have combined Europa and Grain into a true powerhouse Sampler synth. Then, actually LISTEN to their customers requests and added any 1 of the following requests we've been asking for, some for over 10 years! This is a list of ALL the feature requests us LOYAL Reason Users have been asking you to implement, some for over 10 years... 1. ReCycle should've been implemented in V8 at least. Also needs updated as it is virtually outdated. 2. Vector Graphics/Scalable to custom preference 3. Ghost tracks for instruments & VSTs 4. Lower DSP use in all areas especially VSTs 5. Drawable automation curves 6. Realtime edit/Copy & Paste while song plays 7. Timeline flags/ bookmarks 8. MIDI note follow/chase 9. Combinator updates 10. NNXT updates 11. Subtractor updates 12. VST bugs/glitches/ freeze issues Don't say it's not a problem because for many it is 13. Midi clip browse/ preview 14. Group & adjust multiple faders at same time 15. Better track freeze abilities 16. Session View like feature 17. Mute individual midi notes(kick,snare,hats) 18. Update GUI resolution/ 4K compatible 19. Non destructive cross fade capability 20. Tab to transient 21. Ability to save custom settings for comp/ eqs 22. Better stock Brass and Strings (instead of 3Gb of more drums n loops we already have) 23. Video support - I know, I know, but it would be awesome. 24. Sequencer feature /workflow overhaul 25. Mixer feature /workflow overhaul / Neve ? 26. Rack feature/ workflow overhaul. 27. Multitimbral support for VSTs to add more than 1 channel per plugin 28. MP3 exporting. 29. Collapsible channels behind the group buses 30. Parameter on the LF & HS EQs in main mixer 31. Add at least 2 additional EQ bands to mixer 32. DragNDrop clips from seq to devices in rack 33. Trigger blocks with midi controller 34. VST3 support/ after you fix current VST bugs 35. If you are truly LISTENING to your customers, please start showing us by adding these features. V10 is NOT a RELEASE, it is a CONTENT UPGRADE. We want workflow improvements please. Please. Please. @@Nicholas_PA did they bring some of these in with the latest version?

Angus Reid I am currently on version 10, waiting for 12...maybe. But I do know they have added a few updates on the list as well as a few that weren’t on it. IMO I don’t see $129 being justified for an update yet. 7 to 10 was worth it for me and I’m hoping Reason will come through again in V12.

I almost think Grain could have been a 130 EUR VST or rack device...if you divide out the cost of Reason 10, Grain represents like 30 EUR.

Heheheh, so I am not the only "Tracker" who instantly fell in love with this synth. It instantly reminded me of Trackers too, and even though I wasn't any good back then, it is still my favourite way of creating music.

Same here. The grain device alone makes reason worth it. Just upgraded yesterday and spent almost all night playing with it. Seriously have not felt that inspired since I first started making music.

I also was blown away with the patch that appeared in the end of that live stream. But I already have a granular synthesis (Omnisphere 2), so I wanted so bad this patch that I just recreated it. I have a previous Reason version so I got the soundsource used in the stream, then I copy and tweak every little parameter of Omnisphere until I got it, and VIOLÁ, I just have almost exactly the same amazing sound that Grain has in Omnisphere 2. After all this I realized that I don't need Grain to achieve sounds like these, but I must admit that Granular has this Reason-friendly design I fell in love 6 years ago and looks very easy to use, so Grain still looking very interesting for me.

Well now all of reason is a VST(3)... but then you'd have to be a Reason user still ;-)

I've seen people use blocks as markers. But I completely agree with sadness about lack of GUI update. Ehhhh... Retina.

@Hypnoz123 I see you comment on Reason videos as well. I've come to the conclusion you either work for PH or Reason Talk .com. (All you do is Praise them like they are perfect in all areas). It's called voicing OUR opinions. If we don't let PH know what we want for OUR $$, then how will they know what to implement and improve? I'm speaking out for ALL of Us LOYAL Users who have been asking for features, paying PH's bills and in return get 1 or 2 of the features out of almost 50. My voice comes from Truth. I was hoping for that also - you can add delays to the envelopes (at least with Europa) but it's not quite the same. Hoping this gets added in an update

I highly suggest 10! Reason used to be just midi, then they added the ability to record audio, then they added VSTs and now this. Now that Reason supports VST there is no downside. On a side note, the pitch correction in Reason sounds great. I think it sounds better than Melodyne which I believe goes for around $300. It's more than worth the price and in my opinion with this update, its a steal!

No time like the present, my friend :) I work with Logic, Abelton, and FL studios, but I always seem to come back home to Reason. It's workflow is very "creative-friendly", unlike some of the other DAWs out there. And now with it's VST support, it's just as versitile. I'd HIGHLY recommend it.

any number of free VST graintable synths can do the same as this one do not be duped by the fancy interface and sleek design

You have to trigger it with midi notes. The preview button just plays the raw(unprocessed) sample

I had a similar issue with the beta version, but I haven't had a problem with the full version at all. The longest file I've tried is a little over 6 min (I'm sure there's a limit somewhere) but maybe there's something wrong with your setup? Have you changed your settings to allow Reason to use more than the default CPU power?

It was on 95%, now there is no limit but still lagg as hell :(
