It goes well with the avocado and prevents it from turning black. When we were young my mom would mix a salad of red onion, cucumbers, tomatoes, lettuce and avocado, then just add salt and lemon juice.
Luckily living in SoCal pretty much get avocados year round. I use large avocados for the bowl to hold my tuna salad. Yummy. Separate thought use half a papya to hold your tuna salad delicious. I learned that one in Tahiti. Enjoy😎
Some people do grow their own romaine lettuce. Shocking, I know. I grew various lettuce, including romaine, in my small garden for years. Plus this video isn't just for North Americans :-).
