Numerical superiority, home field advantage, simpler objective, and they were fresh while the freelancers already had to fight they're way up and down a high rise apartment building.
I mean it only makes sense, really. At this point, the Freelancers aren't really supersoldiers per se, they're basically the same as the Innie's little A-Team here, fancy-looking armor and booster systems they basically can't use notwithstanding: very very well-trained, highly motivated Elite Special Forces with unconventional or esoteric combat specialties. They're just humans. Maine can't deadlift a Hog, Carolina's speed unit takes her completely out of control, before Theta North couldn't process using the shield for more than a second. They're Just People. Just like the black-and-reds are.
3:09 is what makes this song so good. The moment the Carolina theme kicked in, pumped to a ridiculously fast tempo, I knew she was gonna crash and burn. You can hear how far Carolina is pushing herself to rival Tex in the song itself-and like the musical score, she collapses at the very end, overwhelmed by her own desire to outdo her rival.
Can we just appreciate that sniper's skill? I can't even make some shots in the game, let alone real life, on a car that you have no control over, shooting backwards towards someone on another car that you have no control over, so both go in random directions, and he still got a chest shot. Too bad that idiot on his squad killed him.
ainsley toledo He's been punched in the balls about twelve times. Maine should look like a cross between Jason Vorhees and Freddy Krueger after all the abuse he's been through. (I get it's a joke, but I decided I hadn't been a dick in almost twelve whole minutes, and took action.)
ainsley toledo Maine was also hit by a car, but he tore the fucker in half. Maine has also received extensive surgery. Maine has been blown up and shot a lot more often. "Tossed off a tower" doesn't really mean anything in RVB. Carolina has been thrown off a cliff twice and survived. Maine has fallen from great heights multiple times, and hasn't died...
and 2:37 leading up to it as well The tragedy, the need to be acknowledged by her father, this feels like Carolina pushing past her breaking point just to win.
This song came on once during my (three mile) bike ride to highschool, I had never gotten to school faster, nor been closer to a heart attack in my life 2019 edt: have come closer to heart attack since this comment
Who agrees Project Freelancer deserves a spin-off series with a new badass animator working on it? I can't be the only one devasted by York, North, C.T and everyone else's deaths. I gotta see mooorrreee of themmm.
Josh Sierakowski You know I heard about his death AFTER I made that comment? lol. I got into RT from RvB summer of 2015. I came REALLY late into the fandom. My buddy actually told me he died and his major contributions into everything and how if he weren't part of RT we wouldn't have major stuff like RWBY and the epic animations in RvB seasons 8-10. Don't make assumptions man.
Spoiler, Maine's dead; and before you give me all your crap about how he's MAINE, and thus can't be killed in any way shape or form, Burnie confirmed it. He said: "What? No! He's dead. It was the most metal thing you ever saw!"
The Meta took all the physical properties out of speech, general intelligence, tactical forethought, common sense and the feeling of pain. And replaced it with natural strength that most require augmentation to reach and general indestructability and the ability to wield a knifle within two seconds of picking it up.
I can't listen to this without thinking: poor Maine. I feel bad it's not his fault he became the Meta. Still, he got shot 9 times in the throat, got shot in the face, and hit by a truck, and still got up like it was nothing. You real hero Maine! 10 points to you!
2:10 is my favourite bit because it's when Carolina is getting matched by that trooper. So far in the series Carolina has cut through everyone she meets like a hot knife through butter.
In this fight it took the following to bring Maine Down. * A sniper rifle to the chest * Shot 9 (I think) times in the throat *Hit by a speeding truck *Falling god knows how far off a bridge after being hit by said truck. And he screached on the way down, he was still conscious.
Spoiler alert: Its kinda sad that here Carolina is taking these guys on with great speed and agility, but in Season 12 her martial arts skills seem to be significantly reduced, and her speed is lacking.
She hasn't been getting much sleep lately. Epsilon's memory of Theta says she has nightmares of "the bad guy". The memory of Delta points out how much this sleep-deprivation would affect her ability, but Church is adamant about having a little faith. A flaw in the AI's judgment?
Officially, it's because she's sleep deprived and becoming overly-reliant on Epsilon to do everything, but really it's because Monty is no longer the one doing the fight scenes.
Kyle Eaton Yeah, he just does RWBY now. It's a bit of a shame for RvB, but I never really watched just for the action scenes. They were just an added bonus.
Anyone else think that all the injuries maine(meta) has been through is just a joke because of how awesome, but easy his death was. Maybe they did all that hinting he's alive. Or just a funny joke.
Harry Rush They got his armour, but until I see a body, I say they've got him locked up because he's slipped even further into insanity, rendering him (pretty much) feral.
***** How about when he was ordered to protect the briefcase and he instead decided to stop a bullet (by taking it to the heart) when he saw the red-dot-sight on Carolina's head?
I don't think Maine is dead, because one of the odst guys got shot directly by a MAC round, and only lost his arm, and Maine has been through a lot to not die just by falling off a cliff
go and watch season 12, you'll realize they're being spoken to through a sodding computer, please back up evidence if you're going to go challenging someone on the internet
Maine is surely alive. I mean he took a sniper round to the chest, he got shot in the neck and he was blown up when that one guy caught his brute shot round
I honestly don't think destiny can ever be better or even as good as halo and rvb put together. Yeah it was a good game but I thought the story and characters of halo and RVBwere alot better in comparison .plus they were both with us for more than 10 years and destiny just wasn't as rich it's like its a whole bunch of older ideas and there's just nothing fresh about it.My favorite characters in Halo And RVB are the Arbiter and Agent Washington because their history made them the way they are in their present times.
Destiny is like one of those boxes, with boxes inside. To get inside each box, you have to pay for DLC. But, you pay for the DLC that you already have, you just couldn't get into it. Thus, they get more profits.
@kvelas1 True, but remember how during the 2nd or 3rd season, Simmons was turned into a robot (Simmons 2.0) and the EMP his his warhog, but he is still okay.
i think this fits amazingly well to whats going on. the vocals when maine got sniped and suppressed carolina. tex showing up with the epic guitars. the suspenseful part where the ODST(?) troopers are winning on the truckbed then goes back to a more somber theme where maine gets shot half a dozen times. well done :)
@DeathByController97 "Out of My Mind" is a miniseries that happened when Tex was away and came back to find Sister had joined the Blues. You can find it on the RoosterTeeth site.
The theme is called Morte ai Nostri nemici. (Italian for "Death to our Enemies") It's at the end of Extraction, and it will be in a few songs from the season 10 soundtrack when it comes out. This theme can be heard in the beginning of season 10 episode 9 in the first fight scene when it cuts to carolina. That's about it.
@holycowitsdave The coating on their bones was energy displacing as well, mostly designed to survive brute force since their muscles and the mjolnir suits increased their strength and speed so that normal human bones would break under the stress. The suit was the main energy dampening thing though since something covering your bones is a little useless as they will have already blasted through your skin and organs.
I am stupidly amazed at how far RvB has come. It all just started with a silly Halo machinema. Now we have a full blown series with a freakin' awesome soundtrack!! I mean, how many shows/movies/animes have this kind of music?! Orchestra, Chorus, AND Metal all wrapped into one epic song! It's just the freakin' awesomeness!
@ ray cashman The armir is airtight, air is buoyant, and his oxygen supply wouldnt be cut off and we dont know how deep the water is either so it could be 6ft deep or 200 so he could live fir hours down there but then its just a factor if how deep it is but we dont know that so theres no sense arguing about that specifically.
@strife93 still lived though. and the fact that being shot in the jaw/throat after being sniped in the chest barely even effected him in combat (c'mon, he was back on he feet like straight away) is pretty impressive
@arc101 thats exactly what i meat, when i said it if your looking for the day chracter from red vs blue make physical apperance in halo then dont hold your breath. Actualy do If you knew anything you would understand that RvB takes place in time after the main events of halo as been hinted althrought the series since season 1.
