@@Strepsiades14945 I know, like they say hunters are so broken while they have amazing supers, super crazy exotics one eyed mask, the stag more exotics that are crazy, titans melees are super dumb and warlock supers...
@@sarsuje same 😂 fashion is actually the end game. Ngl I really wish Bungie makes hunters viable in PvE endgame content again, pretty much everything in the video regarding PvE hunter hit me alot cus that is what happens every time I have to go into a raid or gm. Let's hope we get something good in witch queen
Meanwhile the crucible hunters throw on trials armor and that helmet with the glowing horns and call it good, maybe some of the luxe set to really shake shit up. The gauntlets look cool tho can't deny
It's so accurate too. After the 30th dropped, so many times I'd run against a stasis hunter who tried to shatter, did like 50 damage, and then got melted on the ground. Even before the nerfs, when the crystals came out, we knew, just back up and hit the guy pathologically driven to shatterdive them.
@@7yearsago612 people can decide how much they value new content and decide to buy it if they want. I bought it along with witch queen for like £40 on g2a and am loving the new content
And now we get to go at mach 3 and kill ourselves repeatedly because we accidentally hit a wall too hard using the new Eager Edge (not gonna lie though, when I did a run of Prophecy on my Titan recently trying to get the moonfang mark, it was very satisfying to just skip the entirety of the Rainbow Road using Eager Edge and Lion Rampant...I started at the beginning and didn't touch the ground until I landed on the "secret" chest, I even beat my allies who had a head start...once you get the rhythm going you just don't-WAIT A MINUTE!! I JUST REALIZED THAT I CAN USE THE EAGER EDGE TO MORE EFFECTIVELY CROSS THE GoS GAP TO THE FAR FLOWER BEFORE THE BOSS WITHOUT STRESSING OUT!!!!)
Thank you! Hearing some of those was just I guess emphasizing the worse aspects of hunter (shatter dive and stompee spam) so it's nice to see more of us that don't use 'em even if the main pvp options outside of that are the two mentioned above (although Gemini will always have a spot in my inventory) and for pve it always just ends up being omni or nothing (outside of jumping puzzles) and it really does suck Hearing your friends ragging on you for just wanting to play the way the you find fun because I'm not reading books or stuffing grenades down my throat (my two main fireteam members are both warlocks (one of whom is an ex hunter) and if them (jokingly) asking when I'm going become a warlock doesn't happen atleast once it's a concerning day)
Tether needs to be the highest debuff in the game since it uses a whole super. Or some effect to let it compete with other options. Maybe with void 3.0 there will be an aspect which increase the cooldown but increases debuff %
@@_You_Are_Not_Him_ invisibility on dodge, improved radar and better smokebomb Vs better grenade, stat buff to u and your team, invisibility smoke for u and your team, bottom tree is simply much better
On a serious note, the Void 3.0 changes seem to have both tethers (long boi and reworked Moebius Quiver, which is two shots that I am guessing Orpheus Rig would add a third shot and boost orb generation after the changes) plus the Spectral Blades super. If they had the space for another super, I'd want a modification to long boi tether that makes it stick to a target (friendly or not friendly) so you can have a mobile suppression tool in PVE.
I’m a nightstalker main in both pvp and pve. I love spectral blades but I wish that bungie did it differently. Something related to Invis but more like a well or bubble. I also wish blade barrage would get a massive pve buff. But we can’t all get what we want. I’ll keep smashing my head against the ceiling none the less.
I think ultimately what Hunters need is both more survivability and ability for damage output. Hunters have no healing in their toolkit and must use exotics to be able to do so. And if Hunter supers got boss damage DPS buffs, they'd be the best class in the game for outright damage output. Use something like bottom tree golden gun and then dodge to reload heavy and you're outputting way more damage than any other class can. It seems like Bungie put Hunters in the damage dealer archetype of the MMORPG Holy Trinity, but without any other utility and then our damage output has been powercreeped into a worse of both worlds type deal.
@@benm3017 in terms of healing, nightstalkers can put on devour and fully masterworked gear with orb creation mods to keep proc’ing devour on orb pickup and kill. i like to combine it with cqc weapons (like a sword) to stay at full health while spawning orbs. i didnt put devour on at first because the orb requirement doesnt fit my playstyle, but after running it on my nightstalker it feels almost essential to have to stay alive. as long as theres orbs on the battlefield, a nightstalker can play their cards right and stay alive while constantly in close range. pair it with graviton invis buffs and you have a get-out-of-jail free card whenever your shield breaks. still though, hunters undoubtedly feel like the squishiest class by far, youre still going to have moments when you get completely annihilated whereas titans and warlocks have so many options for survivability.
@@flashdr1ve I feel like it really fits the flavour of the hunter class to always have a trick up your sleeve like the invis nightstalker, but it means the class has less versatility for sure. I really hope hunters get more tricks for survivability in their kit with solar and arc 3.0, I'd love for hunters to have a healing buff available or maybe even for them to just have a litle bit more health
@@benm3017 agreed, we’ll just have to see what bungie does to spice up arc and solar in their 3.0 updates. im betting on solar dropping soon, and if it does there should be an ability that procs regen on throwing knife kills, or maybe gives a small health bump. something we can use to where we dont have to rely on exotic abilities to get out of a sticky situation.
I changed from hunter to warlock and I never realized how much I crutch on dodge and panic dodge, I'd get into trouble and I'd drop a rift Infront of peeps because my brain would think I'm still a hunter.
When they decide to put on Oathkeepers and hold a le monarque charge for the entire match. I'm that kinda hunter but at the same time I really enjoy using Bows in PvP
Compared to double dodge, double smoke bombs, longer invis/faster cooldown, heal on finishers not really. The small amount of health doesnt really matter when you have protective light/ well of life
Celestial is top tier for the ending of Grasp of Avarice. Spam super on the other elites and they get melted. Comes in clutch for a last minute one phase too, though it only does as much damage as 2 sleeper shots.
Everyone complains about stompees in pvp, and that hunters are broken and stompees need a nerf because they make you move too fast. Count on your hands how many exotics hunters have that are actually good in general pvp (not niche memes), you get 3: Wormhusk, Dragon's Shadow, and Stompees. Of those three exotics, two require you to use your dodge, WHICH GOT A COOLDOWN NERF, to gain any benefit. Stompees is literally the only hunter exotic that functions without a major downside. Now look at all the exotics that warlocks and titans can use for general pvp; and then understand, none of them have downsides; NONE of the titan or warlock pvp exotics have downsides. They provide a buff, without a tradeoff. If you still think stompees need to be nerfed or changed because they "get used too much" or "make hunters move too fast" (which the class was designed to do btw), then I can only assume that you have eaten too many crayons or read too many books about circles to be helped. Let us have the one thing that makes our class feel fun and special, you already have so much.
I'm a hunter main. I agree with you that we don't have many good options for exotics in PvP, however, I also think stompee5 offer a little too much. I think stompee5 need to be tuned down just a little to provide movement comparable to other class movent exotics. For example, removing the jump height bonus but retaining the sprint speed/slide distance bonus.
@@wkgates The problem with tuning them down is that every movement exotic in the game provides the same speed bonus, (you can test this yourself by having a dunemarchers titan, a stompees hunter, and a transversive steps warlock do a sprint race from one point to another); and without stompees hunters jump abilities are objectively worse than either other class (a titan and warlock can both reach the same height as a stompees hunter with their base lift/glides, you can also test this yourself like in the aforementioned methods). The other two main movement exotics also provide a secondary bonus in addition to the speed; transversives provide free reloading and dunes provide a massive melee buff. The real reason people feel that stompees are to powerful is because the classes were meant to be played differently; you can see this just by looking at each classes' class ability: Titans have the ability to block all incoming damage, and warlocks have the ability to heal themselves; BUT only if they remain (nearly) stationary. Hunters on the other hand do not have the ability to remain stationary, we have to avoid the damage by moving out of the way of the damage. Bungie also clearly demonstrates this in the Guardian creation screen with the class descriptions. Stompees don't need a nerf or any tuning, people need to understand that the classes ARE different, and they are meant to be played differently. Imagine for a moment if hunters gained the titan's barricade or the warlock's rift; that would be absolutely broken, because you would have a movement focused class that doesn't have to move. Now imagine that a titan or a warlock gained the hunter's dodge; it would suck, because the classes that are designed to be stationary now would no longer be able to remain stationary. tl;dr: Stompees aren't broken. They're where they need to be due to the core mechanics of how each class is intended to be used. People that complain about them are too narrow minded to understand interclass mechanics and how they affect each other.
@@thraximundar2974 thanks for the well-written reply. I still disagree; I believe that the movement that stompee5 provides is not comparable to other class specific movement exotics. The total benefit that stompee5 provide players is not equal to the sum of all the individual buffs (slide distance, sprint speed, jump height). Here's the critical point I am trying to make: The combination of these benefits combined with the rapid changes in direction and speed afforded by the unique jump and dodge abilities of the hunter make stompee5 the overwhelmingly most selected hunter exotic. I am saying that something should be tuned to bring the stompee5 movement more comparable to other subclass movement. Right now, the incredible height and momentum (and the speed at which this height and momentum is achieved) vastly outperforms any other class specific movement exotics. You may argue that top tree dawn can match the movement of stompee5 with transversing steps, but that is restricted to one subclass. This restriction is a cost. Stompee5 offer similar benefits amid all hunter subclasses, with a few subclasses offering even more benefits (top tree night stalker, and I think bottom tree arc). These people may be selfishly attacking those pesky stompee5 hunters. I can say as someone who mains hunter in PvP that I believe Stompee5 to be too powerful and need tuned. If it might add weight to my opinions, you may look up my profile to view my PvP performance and playtime in Destiny: nonoQuadrant (Xbox) I look forward to your reply!
@@wkgates To change stompees in a way that would bring them in line with the movement offered by other classes would make them akin to the Radiant Dance Machines (read: Useless) this boils down to the difference in how the classes move. Now, having said that, there are things that could be done to 'tune' them, without destroying the "stompees feel" that many hunters (myself included) cherish. The movement speed can't be touched, as it is the same bonus as every other movement exotic in the game (6% IIRC), which leaves the jump and slide buffs. You could argue for removing the bonus slide distance, or moving it to another exotic (RDM??) to keep the number of buffs granted by stompees to two (movement speed and jump boosts); and I believe that most people would see this as a fair trade; a hard nerf to stompees that doesn't destroy what they are. The (almost) last thing to touch would be the jumps. The main issue here is that stompees are not just used in pvp to go fast; they are an integral part of the hunter's pve parkour kit, and are virtually required in some cases. Warlocks and titans both function flawlessly in pve without movement exotics, and with the "reintroduction" of sword skating for all classes can often times move faster or further than hunters; stompees help to close this gap. Another thing to bring up when mentioning the jump buffs is skating, specifically jump skating on titan and warlock; yes I am aware that hunters can "skate" by smashing our already smooth brains into the ceiling, but the jump skating possible on titan and warlock is in a different league entirely. With the jumping aspect there are two things I see brought up, the height and the speed. The height that a stompees hunter can reach is the same that a high lift titan can reach, and even the best triple jump is nowhere close to the distance that can be covered by a warlock (let alone diving protection holds or heat rises). Reducing the height or distance that stompees allow hunters to cover would effectively render them useless in pve as a parkour tool, and would remove the hunter's ability to compete with titans and warlocks in height and distance. This leaves the jump speed. Jumps are governed by mobility, that is the more mobility you have the higher and farther you will jump, but only on hunters. For some reason Bungie has determined that hunters, and only hunters, will be reliant on mobility for both their movement and class ability. The reason hunters move faster during their jumps is because they have higher mobility, by necessity. If, for some god forsaken reason, you have a titan with 100 mobility and dunemarchers, they will move as fast as a stompees hunter during their jumps, especially if they are using catapult lift. It isn't the stompees that are directly causing the hunters to be faster during jumps (though they do provide a speed boost in the form of a base movement speed increase), it is their innate requirement to run high mobility. I do believe stompees are strong, but I don't believe that they need a nerf or any tuning. They simply enhance the things that a hunter is supposed to be good at. Titans are walls, Warlocks are weapons, and Hunters are scouts; the Guardian creation screen tells you this. Could they be changed? Possibly, but Bungie would have to exercise the utmost care in how they changed them to avoid an absolute disaster. Personally, if I had any input on how they got changed if it was inevitable, I would recommend the following. Remove the slide distance bonus and give it to RDM (Traveler knows they need it); and remove the movement speed buff during jumps (this would greatly reduce the neck-breaking effect). Keeping the base movement speed buff would keep them on equal footing with the other movement exotics, and keeping the jump height and distance would still allow for effective parkouring in pve. Thanks for reading my lengthy rant. I would like to offer my genuine gratitude for being able to have a civil conversation about a sensitive topic.
@@thraximundar2974 Thank you again for the good discussion! You bring up some great points that I'll remember next time I discuss stompee5 with someone. Ill admit, this topic is certainly more complicated than I first thought. I find it difficult to believe people are so vehemently in one corner or the other. I'm interested to see what, if anything, Bungie decides to do with Stompee5. Thanks again for giving me your thoughts and being pleasant. I enjoyed reading your perspective!
As a warlock main who has taken a hunter into GMs as well as played hunter in GMs, warlock is infinitely better for PvE. By an extremely large margin as well. The main thing they need is survivability. In PvP a dodge can save from a guardian encounter but not really against hordes of enemies or snipers that one-shot you from 3 billion meters away.
I have to agree, I have been a hunter since Destiny 1, I used to be able to solo the nightfall with ease. Now I try to solo nightfalls and dungeons and I witness first hand how much of a disadvantage I am at because I don’t have a well or a bubble. All I get is 5 seconds of invis (10 if I’m wearing graviton of forfeit) but I forgo my invis if I shoot or throw a nade. It’s pretty sad that I have to contemplate of making a warlock just to solo a dungeon or feel useful in difficult PvE activities. It makes me not want to play the game because it’s forcing me to play a character I don’t really like just to feel useful. *sighs*
Honestly, I play high level pve content and I run with pretty sweaty people and it's most common to completely ignore any use of hunters and focus on warlocks or titans. Hunters have become practically useless in terms of pve and we can't even dodge as much as we should, much less have anything that's as good as well, thundercrash, or bubble. Like he said, we're pretty much useless because we have legit nothing to support a whole team.
Tbh, I don't feel useless as a Hoonter, but that's me not having ANY experience in end game content. Cause my brain is just focused on killing and shooting
@@pajwubx1809 other than being a relic runner while cheesing atheon i feel like I'm useless as a hunter especially since i started playing with middle solar warlock with empowering rift + well + benevolence dawn.
Grace Dawnblade main. The class I despise more in PvP are Titans. Other warlocks are second. Hunters have my respect. 3:19 4:10 5:27 I do these too when I play as a hunter. No Stomp-EE5, though. 7:22 Nope. Never do that, guys. Don't let other people choose how you play. The no 1 priority should be having fun.
Dang bro im the complete opposite. Hunters i despise most warlocks are fine as long as they dont spam abilities or camp rifts, and titans are superior imo.
Whether I’m running with random or my closest clan mates, hunters just slow down any high end content. It’s less of a “you can’t play hunter” though and more of a general agreement to just not play hunter unless you’re going for hunter specific armor.
Problem with stompies isnt that it is that great. I mean it is, but problem is what else to use? Wormhusk isnt bad or shadow armor(forgot name), but after all those nerfs it is just too inconsistent. So what else to use? That is huge problem with hunters. Most of their exotics are trash or for pve. Idk how to change it tho.
@@user-cc4cj4qi1t I could never use it to be honest. Dodge is for me movement ability and I use it when I need it. Not to proc perk. It should give handling buff all the time and reaload every gun when you dodge. But yeah there is no other good exotic to use, so I too use stompies.
@@runek100 i still never use stompee like i hardly use it i dont shotgun or use fusions so i usually run foetracer for baby tracking haha or the one that gives radar while aiming. Or my dragons shadow
Arc Hunter main here. Fashion is the true endgame; truly. Liar's Handshake was perma-glued to me until arc 3.0 & then swapped to Sixth Coyote to get more mobility with my blink. Hunters blink better than Warlocks & we look better doing it. The distance covered from an amplified blink is crazy.
Fully agree with everything, although I don't use stompees. We need help in pve asap, the nerf to dodge made us even worse than before, specially top tether. Bungo seems against our right to dodge as much as we can, 100% cooldown increase in Year.
It's like bungie want hunters to be the best pvp class and titans to be a top tier pve class. Both hunters and titans got nerfed in a way to support this too
bungo has has it out for hunters for like 2 years now, every time we have something kinda good it gets nerft but warlocks are balanced and not broken at all
@@emeebe7203 hunters have been pvp meta for 2 years now. They have incredible pvp exotics. Pve wise i swear they do have it out for hunters. Bungie hates titans in pvp so i feel ya pain.
@@cerebralassassin2185 yea as a hunter main it’s just so upsetting that we get treated as the middle child and Titans don’t get the best treatment either but it’s not as bad for them
I see the appeal of stompees, but at the same time they're more of a hindrance than a help to hunters like me, who almost never use them. Messes with my muscle memory
@@II-Seraph-II same here, although I'm trying to rely on dragon's shadow less. Recently I've been having tons of fun with Liar's Handshake, pair that with a one-two punch shotgun and you're golden
the solution to hunters being viable in endgame pvp is to stop nerfing their new viable exotics into the ground just for coming close to stepping on the toes of what warlocks and titans can do in pvp...
As a Day 1 Hunter main, some of your comments had me rolling -- and others definitely hit a nerve! I will often bring a Graviton Rescue Service build into high-end PvE content sometimes. But Silence & Squall with Mask of Bakris are amazing for a lot of endgame PvE stuff -- both for add clearing and for Focusing Lens. My boss damage is all weapon-based, but the tales surrounding my legendary risky revives go as far back as Crota's End. And I still use other Hunter Exotics because I'm stubborn like that. And I like to remember the times past when they were indeed great. Oh, and Hunters always carry the brand and/or relic.
D1Y1 hunter main here that uses the stasis class with the assassin cowl exotic helm with the Monte Carlo exotic auto rifle for the build I call “Self-Healing Ninja Cockroach”
Star eater scales was gonna be our #1 new PvE exotic until bungie ruined it. Thanks btw. We FINALLY got a new PvE exotic that's not celestial knighthawk but they just had to nerf those boots.
I play pve most of the time, I ADORE playing hunter. if I were to have a main, it would be either my lock or titan, but hunter is so fun. it's such a shame that they just aren't that good in pve. I can't wait for void 3.0 maybe I'll have any subclass that's fun and useful to use other than revenant.
Using Stasis Hunter in PvE. Confused the hell out of my teammate when I threw the ice wall grenade right next to his res and used it like a titan for a second.
As a hunter main I'm proud to say I've never used stompees. Only in pve for the outbreak jumping puzzle. I actually don't invest too much into mobility either, BUT I like to use killing wind to bring it up for me as well as bottom tree nightstalker for heart of the pack. I'd rather invest in recovery and intellect and discipline.
I play dedicated invader in Gambit, and I would use Sixth Coyote with super-generating mods to get my super fast. Now, it doesn't work, so I was looking for a different exotic to use. There was just no real reason to NOT use St0mp-EE5. So now my Gambit build looks identical to my PvP build. Kinda disappointing how boring that small change to those mods made my gameplay. Homogenized everything.
Man, so true about Hunter nerfs in PvE. Hard to run GG w/ Nighthawk in Master/GM endgame activities, cause teams needing that invis ability for revives, or Aeon finishers for heavy bricks...then they go and nerf the dodge cooldowns, taking away the ability to go invis as often. Shards and Blade Barrage were pretty much only useful against Atheon...literally the only time that it was viable to equip, then they nerfed and rendered that completely useless (not to mention the awful hit registration, when it came to the knives). Arc supers are often ignored, since all 3 trees have roaming supers, which will just get you killed when you getting close to bosses, whereas the other sub-classes have supers offering both roaming and ranged. So yeah, have to agree that they need a little love when it comes to PvE lol.
I agree on everything on here, except for the statement "Dodge is a strong ability" because right now in the game sliding is more efficient AND better than dodging. still always going to dodge when dodge is up
I feel like a special breed of Hunter, I basically never use Stompees. I typically have Lucky Pants or Athrys's Embrace (especially with that new ornament) But that first habit is definitely true, Fashion is definitely Endgame
Yeah I feel like Warlock is the best end game guardian and I definitely prefer my Walock in GM but the Hunter isn't bad. I was using Graviton Forfeit a lot but switched to the Sixth Coyote because the comfort of knowing I'll always have invis available is pretty good
I feel like for ever hunter that swears by Stompees there is another who swears by Dragons Shadow. One of the best exotics for a hunter possible. Leave your dodge on gambler and just use dragons shadow for its Wraithmetal which is +50 mobility and handling boost. Before the nerfs it was possible to have it on permanently however now you get about 3 seconds without it on and then just dodge again. Easily one of the set and forget pvp exotics and is probably the only reason why I do not use Stompees.
Yeah, super rolled my eyes when I heard EVERY Hunter wears Stompees religiously. I stand by Dragon's. You also get the same strafe speed and jump height as Goomba boots when the perks is active. Probably doesn't help that I kinda loathe Revenant, despite it being the meta. Hardly play it, I just like middle tree more, regardless of people who swear by bottom tree. It's the No, U class of Destiny. Also, Arcstrider is good for most PVE, just not endgame where any super will virtually just get annihilated.
Me as a titan main seeing yet another hunter holding ace of spades, stompos and pure black colors: "They never change it up do they?" Random dude who isnt a hunter in the fireteam: "Yep."
I’ve been wanting to play another class but my entire keyboard layout and my mouse binds are set for hunter 😂. I’ve never really played any other class in PvE
Dragon’s shadow + sixth coyote. You’re missing out!! Double dodge inviz for pve or dodge reload your rockets for dps. (Dragon’s shadow you can have gambler’s dodge + reload 👍) Don’t forget mask of bakris to pair with the new stasis weapons. Eyasluna + reed’s regret.
The amount of ”Free thinking” Hunters is always so funny in the tower. - The same dark shader on everything - Stasis - Dead mans tale - Equipped as many exotics as possible - Usually equips whatever free emblem given out for the season - Will walk up to you randomly and play the latest participation reward seasonal emote
Hunter main myself, and everything one this list is 100% accurate! Hopefully void 3.0 will give us a better support roll in the upcoming raid! I am lucky to have friends who don’t mind me playing hunter, but it’s so hard to find lfg who actually wants a hunter especially endgame pve
In response to the endgame pve stuff, I’d say the hardest part about playing hunter is not that you don’t have a support super, but that the hunter class ability isn’t beneficial to other team members. Anyone can hide behind a barricade or stand in a rift, but dodge actually hurts other teammates because it breaks tracking on projectiles which will then aim for my teammates. I love playing as hunter, but I think the super is a non-issue. Because class abilities are used so much more frequently
the best I can do as a hunter is run omnoculus and aid my team when they get into tricky spots, it takes a LOT of convincing for them to let me run hunter in raids, but I think I play better under the pressure of not wanting to disappoint, we have had several clutches where I invis'd an ally for them to make it to the rez in time.
@@sarsuje you are correct. However that was only live in game for two weeks. The decision to have hunter dodge break projectile tracking was reversed in the most resent update (the one where they fixed the GoA dungeon loot and bugs). So still a prob for teammates
@@masonjones7777 I actually think that hunters are quite viable in endgame pve. Especially with Omni (tho, pattycakes mentions that as one of the builds others will accept). While I prob wouldn’t want to run hunter for like a Petra’s run or something, overall they do just fine in raids and GMs
Good exotic combo I found, Celestial nighthawk and bad juju, because the celestial nighthawk makes your golden gun into one OP shot and bad juju gives you super energy for each kill you get with it, so you get your op shot in 20 seconds at best
You are so right, every time i Play Hunter in a raid or a Dungeon, they say that Hunters are trash. Im Playing warlock in pve right now so they dont shittalk my favourite class
I personally run top tree nightstalker for pve, the super is decent in multiplayer activities for weakening bosses and vanishing step is the ultimate get-out-of-jail-free card, for both yourself and reviving teammates.
Running riskrunner and the exotic that extends arc charges is my secret to getting most kills/high scores in PVE as a hunter. Going against fallen and other mobs that utilize arc damage is a breeze since risk gives me arc resistance when I get hit by mobs, plus the arc chain is insane and it usually instant kills. Then for my heavy hitters I use the bite of the wolf sniper rifle and a grenade launcher, or I run crimson/shotgun/sidearm and a sword/launcher as a secondary setup. I’m not too big on pvp but I do find it fun to be a hunter while playing haha. I’ve been a hunter main since Destiny’s release and I love it.
When Quickfang is paired with ace of spades and stillpiercer it should gain a blinkstrike. while crownsplitter would allow you to do a buffed retaliation strike after a blocked melee and eternities edge would gain a caster frame mode.
ima be the weird one but lol.. im a hunter main and rarely ever use stompies. I love my bombardiers as i rarely play pvp. and what i love about it is just have that ability when im surrounded and need to reload just doing a quick dodge, auto reload and boom clear all the red bars near by with ease. and focus on the next group or boss.
In my non-pvp expert opinion, i think its precious how gunplay aside, titans and warlocks, the "tanks and mages" of the game had instakill melee abilities for a long time or still have, and the assassin class cant have it without some major backlash. Even when the instakill is tied to a combo with 4 actions: jump two times, use the granade, a separate resource... and then press melee. But warlocks can just clap you from range with a melee skill from mostly full hp with the press of a button and titans just run you over. I get that magical light spells should powerfull and getting run over by a titan should be deadly, but how in the world getting caught offguard by a assassin should not? :(
yea, the only other melee that is really insta-kill is throwing knife, middle tree arc, and pretty much nothing on nightstalker. The other two classes have a one hit ko on pretty much every tree or at least nearly.
I used to be a Stompee addict in Shadowkeep but since BL launched I’ve changed to the church of wormhusk. Being able to turn an undo button into an uno reverse card is so fun. Everytime someone comes around the corner expecting to pepper me with a shotty then *oops* I’ve got half my health back. Being able to kick off burns and thorn ticks like they’re nothing is also great! Eager edge skating also keeps me shmovin in PvE and I can run my beloved Trinity Ghoul.
I constantly rock top tree Night Stalker with Rigs to help my fireteam build super. Even after they adjusted my team stays pretty close to constant super.
I would personally add the moments where as a hunter main I out dps locks and titans as a notice that hunters can put out alot more damage that people think
Never Used Stompees. I literally just got them last week. I've been using the knucklehead. I've now started on the hunt to get gear for my stompees. Making them the zoomiest gear while I turn my knucklehead into a tank
star eater scales are severely slept on and hunter mains need to get on it. you also have lucky pants now too. they're working on it, hopefully soon you'll have more for pve.
Spamming Jump isn't really just a Hunter main thing. Without St0mp-EE5 and a suitable ceiling to boost off of (or shatter skating), the other classes are noticeably faster with their intrinsic movement options. If anything, Hunter jump is just the easiest to use in combat scenarios due to their simplicity (though lift and glide are still really good once you get used to them).
OK, but I’m a new light scrub titan Mane(i’ve never tried another class) and I freaking love Cade, my only interaction with his character was in the mission where he died, that’s it and I love that guy.
12) All hunters like to poke an icarus grip to all of there weapons. There is no single gun that doesn't have this mod on it, no matter what type or archetype of weapon it is. Shotgun? Icarus grip. Hand cannon? Icarus grip. Sidearm? Icarus grip. Fusion rifle? Icarus grip. Damn, they will insert icarus grip into a rocket launcher if they could...
Doesn't matter what gun I'm sweating with in pvp, I always got me stompees on and am constantly in the air. Shotty, sniper, fusion, doesn't make a difference so long as it can get Icarus grip
As a Hunter main who has never taken off dragons shadow since it’s release, I laugh at stomp ee’s. Oh boy I can run slightly faster, jump slightly higher and slide slightly farther 🙄
I only swap stompees at the end of a strike IF its solar burn, to nighthawk... otherwise they always stay on. It was the same thing with bones back in D1 lmao
Aside from the stompies thing (I've had dragon's shadow on since shadowkeep), this is upsettingly true, and I'm personally offended by how accurate it all was
I was a hunter main in D1 and switched to a lock in D2 and haven't looked back since😂 still play with my hunter sometimes but I always dodge when I wanna rift and get pissed off and go back to my lock
Tether should last longer, or stack with other buffs/debuffs in the way the solar warlock middle tree does, or both. It’s literally just tether or nothing for a couple seconds if the boss is the only thing in it.
Season of the splicer was my best hunter season. Shards with anarchy and double slug was over power and I dealt half the damage of atheons health all of the time
idk stompees feel kinda ass compared to dragons shadow lol. stompees: make you zoom a little bit dragons shadow: *+50 mobility *+100 handling *+100 reload *reloads all yr weapons *does your taxes *cooks you dinner *brushes your teeth *solves world hunger *colors a dinosaur *calls your mom *helps your dad home from the cigarette store *gets you laid
As a hunter main since d1 alpha I agree with 94% of this list. The very last thing about the quickfang sword I don't feel we all do. I never really have as I'm always trying to use a LMG or rockets anymore. I've never really been a sword person
I never have stomp-ees on anymore. I always have lucky pants on because it’s a decent pve dps option since I’m always running fatebringer, eyeasluna, or palindrome.
Patty: "Stompies is the best hunter exotic and there's really no reason to take it off" Me, someone who mains bombadiers bc it works best with most of my outfits: 👀
i have been able to do alot of raids recently on my hunter due to me just hopping in raids where people "just need one more" and i have dont a conclusive study, that its either arcstrider fist dodge, celestial nighthawk, or void tether if you can pull it off. and the bombadier arcstrider hops make it hella viable in pve, and pvp (if used properly as is everything) but this new arc subclass is hella underestimated it seems. (ALSO practice makes perfect for celestial nighthawk charges your super like a battery with divinity)
