Very well done. Thank you. I’m a teacher in the US. My students are studying Myanmar 🇲🇲 right now. I am going to ask them to watch this to learn more about the country. You’re both natural teachers. 🙏🏼
As someone from Myanmar, I'm not against chewing betel but I am against spitting in public place. If you're chewing in public, please spit in the a bag and throw away properly. The government should improve their handling of trashing. Maybe the department needs more funding.
There are many problems out there. When being priotized, spitting in public area can't be restricted enough compared to other more important problems. If you spit in public area, who will know and who will come ask to pay for that action? There's no CCTV everywhere. Country being poor, requirements too much to handle. that's why! I think people should be aware of that it is shameless action to spit in public place
Thank you for documenting some of the darker issues of Myanmar, I apologize for some inconvenience, and as a Myanmar citizen, I am reluctantly embarrassed, but thank you for visiting us.
I have been living in Myanmar for 4 months and it's best country I have ever visited. I come from East Africa and none of the things they mentioned as negative were a shock to me. But one thing we really agree on is how Myanmar people are fantastic. Beautiful, friendly, generous and always ready to help and make you feel welcome.
I really like the fact that more people are visiting Myanmar. Often, when I say “I am from Myanmar”, people don’t actually know where it is. I would also like to inform you about the people in Myanmar. Not everyone in Myanmar are Burmese. There are 12 main ethnic groups in Myanmar. They are; Kachin, Kayan, Kayin (Karen), Chin, Moe, Burmese, Rhakin, and Sha. There are other ethnicity throughout Myanmar. But people usually speaks Burmese to communicate to each other since they have different languages. I recommend you visit Karen State next time. Visit again soon!!!
Well,I'm from Myanmar (also known as Burma) I'm really upset as a citizen of Myanmar that our country was misrepresneted by some of the media. To say out the truth, the spread ones are totally fake informations. But,most of us can't speak English fluently as English is not our mother language. Moreover,we prefer Facebook rather than Instagram, twitter, youtube, snapchat,………So,we can't solve this tie internationally Our voice couldn't be heard from the globe. We feel so uncomfortable with it. But at the same time,we are so glad that not all of the foreigners believe that non-sense news and some of the vloggers like you guys showed a different version of us which is kind, generous, warm, innocent, helpful (which we really are). We need more people like you guys and local influencers who would tell the truth of Myanmar for our country's image. Extra-I'm really touched to see those people in comment section encouraging others to visit Myanmar and their great experience and attitude on Myanmar.I'm really really appreciated about it. I admit that our country is a poor, and still-developing country. But it doesn't mean that we Myanmar are mistreating muslims or even on any other race. Well,I would just say "Welcome from Golden Land,Myanmar". Peace •~•
Well I think the stuff needs to be said because the military really does go out and attack innocent villages. Whilst those in the city might be shielded from the reality of what happens outside of their area there is no denying that it happens
Im so sad to hear all the fake news about Myanmar..when the corona pandemic will end myanmar is the first country I will visit in 2021 Greetings from Greece
I will be there in 3 weeks. I will be a teacher at one of the international schools in Yangon. Thanks for the wonderful video. It made me even more excited to be a part of the Myanmar experience. 🥰
Hopefully, by then the Myanmar gov will open up the int'l travelers.Btw,which school you'll be teaching? ISY, MISY,? I'm very familiar with the city. I lived there for over 20 yrs.
Best of luck! I am sure you will enjoy your time there. It is hot there for sure. Be sure to bring some mosquitos spray. I got bites constantly when I was there. Also, highly recommend downloading Grab app. You can estimate how much the taxi will cost. That way, if you aren’t using Grab app to hail for taxi you will know how much is reasonable when they are asking you. Always negotiate before getting into the taxi if you aren’t using Grab app. I don’t think you can negotiate with the Grab app though.
@@keehosoldstantwitteracc203 I will be at Yangon Academy. But I did apply at your school. 😊😊 I am trying to get to Myanmar and hopefully the airport will be open soon. I will be living close to the school and near Yankin Center?
I'm not sure when exactly you guys went, but the burning season in Myanmar is from February to March. That's when farmers burn their crop fields to get rid of unharvested crops and to prepare for the next planting cycle. The air quality can get really bad during these months. I didn't notice the air being very bad when I went during the Summer as someone who lives in the US.
So glad this vid popped up on suggestions. Happy to hear positive things about Myanmar. The things happening there right now is really heartbreaking. It would be amazing if you could use your platform to promote awareness on Myanmar's CDM movement because the military is trying to shut down information from getting out to the international community. Thank you for showing your love for my country. Peace and love to you and your fam!
Going back through your awesome vlogs, I think the stomach upset came from the yoghurt you guys drank in Yangon! Yoghurt is cultured differently around the world with different bacteria and the "poisoning" maybe because your stomachs had never seen our particular yoghurt culture before. Nevertheless, always judge which street foods you want to eat to minimize your chances of upsetting your different stomachs! Glad you enjoyed the stay! Edit: Ooo! Almost forgot! Some of our food has fermented stuff in it! That's also a possibility!
Whenever I go back and eat street foods, I'd always have diarrhea or upset stomach. But a couple of weeks later, I'd be walking around devouring all sorts of street foods like nobody's business. Street vendors (usually) are never known for their sanitization (especially in our country). But locals usually have no problems due to their built-up immunity or tolerance. :)
Had the privillige to live in Myanmar for a year. Amazing people, beautiful country, made us to sort out our values in life. Hope things get better soon!
You guys: Myanmar is the most suprising place we've been me: no not to me everything is the normal to me since i live there T^T you guys: the longest that happens is about 10 mins me: the longest for me is 2 days :)
Thanks for making this awesome video and letting people from all around the world know Myanmar (Burma)’s weaknesses and strengths. Anyway I’m so proud to see some things about my country on your channel and I really appreciate it. You guys are welcome! And I hope you guys come back there in the future.
Im from Thailand I went to Myanmar 2 years ago I like mya thein tan pagoda, Inle and Kyaikhtiyo Pagoda are the best . last 3 years northen of Thailand ,Myanmar and Laos have same problem with air pollution.
Im living in Western country right now but 65% always miss Myanmar and if i have an option i will choose Myanmar. People are really really nice they understood us when i couldn't speak their language and now im like bla bla bla really fast!
I am so respectful of your opinions. I want our people to maintain such a good attitude which welcome our visitors friendly. Next time don't leave Myanmar without going on a trip to Chin State. Although the transportation system is not good very well like the other states/regions, you'd not be disappointed.
I think they charge people for entering to Bagan for a good reason, because the places are so old they have to renovate and fix things every 5-7 years and it cost them alot.
Great video Jack and Gab - wow I didn't know there were lots of fires going on. When I was there in 2011, I only saw small road side fires as you said for the tar to build the roads, but didn't see big fires as you showed.... very interesting... Also I don't recall a fee to enter Bagain when I was there. Were there still potholes everywhere on the raods making travel sooo sloooww? I'm overdue to go back and see the changes! Great video guys!
you will surprise if you come back again. Everything is getting better now and i bet you will be like wow. It's great watching your video. greeting from Australia, Melbourne city
Bagan entrance fee is expensive because you are tourist. I live in Mandalay and I have went to bagan for about 20 times and it's only 70 cent for a person
Thank you so much for promoting the tourism of my country. This is very promising. I, as a tourist guide from Burma, would like to help you with heart as an information provider when you plan to come back for the next time, like you said. Thank you Guys. Jay
It is pronounced Long Chi (Chi as Tai-chi), not Long Gee. I am currently in the US. I will go back to visit Myanmar next year. Mon State is my home town. I am glad you guys like Burmese culture.
Every thing depends on the perspective, you may have found people wearing thanaka and dressing longyi peculiar, the local people may find your looks and attitude exotic. I am glad you went along and joined in the photos.
Thanks for all those dirty things you are reporting, this help bring some changes in mYanmar and accrose some parts of Asia. This is something positve about tourism.
Yea, I live in Myanmar, thank you soooo much for the visit, and the reason why there is only 1 station because there is a school called ISY near it and they wanted the kids to breath clean, safe air so yes, they bought one, and also, Myanmar isn't the richest country in the world , so yeah, I'm pretty sure you now understand. and also, if you want to see the air quality, I recommend using purple air, it measures how good or bad the air quality is. here is the link everybody!! :www.purpleair.com/map?opt=1/mAQI/a10/cC0#10.79/16.8258/96.1778
Buses have storage to carry loads. Some passenger get on the bus on the way,not at the bus station. Its OK for the bus driver and bus company. This custom is only for highway bus.
