Seems like you’re using them unironically. I always love seeing a genuine thanks from a teammate, but the teammates that spam it unrepentantly for the most minor inconveniences are awful. End up muting them after like the sixth ping. I think my favorite is when a teammate takes a 1v4 on the enemy goal zone, (unsurprisingly) dies, and then spams thanks for the rest of the game.
Just to really enhance the message. To get your held items from 0--20 it takes about 500 enhancers. To get an item from 20-30 takes 2100. And at most you get a 2-3% improvement. Not at all worth it.
This was the biggest tip for me. I assumed 30 was a big stat jump without bothering to do the math so I was trying to max out the items I use the most. Luckily I only have one held item left to buy so it shouldn't be long before I get them all to 20! Also worth noting, one of the trainer achievements is getting 8 held items to lvl 30. I'm at 7 maxed so I naturally pushed to get that achievement before realizing the prize is just a sticker and a waste of effort 😅
small note- check it out also happens if you ping a certain spot on the map. pinging check it out on a player, i agree is unecessary. but pinging check it out on the map can be used to communicate (ie we should gather down there, someone is hiding in this bush, im heading down there etc)
When the enemy jungler decides that they want to live in my lane, I ping "check it out" in their jungle to get our jungler to steal their jungle. ...It has never worked. Pinging "check it out" in our jungle when our jungler decides to live in my lane is somewhat more effective.
There's two times I use the chat wheel: -To say to that one idiot who steals jungle when someone already called it, or goes to a lane that two others have already taken... to pleeeease retreat. (I've played enough time to see this happened when I'm either the lone guy at lane or the jungle I called.) -To tell the others to gather at Rayquaza, because clearly its importance is something that's still forgotten by some. These are the two only things that tilt me. And I feel like these are legitimate reasons to use the chat wheel, not to say "wow you suck team" but to say "hey you're throwing, here's what you can do to stop throwing."
I had a Cinderace player double call jungle from our Absol teammate. He was level 7 at Ray. Singlehandedly lost us the game because he was too stubborn to back off.
Can someone explain what jungle is?? And lanes?? Is this referring to the paths people choose before starting a match or something else? I am very confused
@@Adotworm Correct. Jungle is what lanes aren't. Lanes are lanes, as in paths. Top and bottom(bot), other mobas like LoL have a mid but in Unite it's basically excluded in favor of a farm spot for the jungler.
lol same alot of player dont know exp share. i played alot of game where my team on the line just pass the first 2 bunny or get mad when you help them kill wild pokemon.
It works like awesome for the top lane if you've got one All-Rounder and an Attacker in the lane, cause everytime I'm the all rounder who steals opposing teams wild pokemon while stacking.
I feel like using coins on extra boost emblem loadouts is worthwhile once you have a roster you are comfortable with. 3 loadouts is enough to cover most builds, but having one or two more for more niche builds is helpful.
I'm an old player so this video has nothing to do with me. But still I'm watching this for Jake... Hope he Pins my message 😔 Edit : Thank you spragels 💖
I know I’ve done at least have of these things at some point. This will really help me improve. Thanks for making the vid. This may be off topic but, I think the partner eevee from let’s go eevee and pikachu would be an interesting addition. Plus solo pikachu is in the game, so why not solo eevee
"Thanks" is not useful, but "Check it out" kinda is, sometimes, when an ally does it's own thing, to put it mildly lol. In most cases, I blame the game for that anyway, it cares way too much about the goals for the score/mvp at the end of the match. But still, going to score 30 points (15x2) during Rayquaza... 💀
Right? I don’t know how it works honestly. There was a match where the jungler did absolutely nothing and scored a lot of points so they got the mvp like ???
I truly HATE seeing the weird clear. ESPECIALLY when I am a support or defender with EXP Share and you are just giving up that xp for NOTHING!! So frustrating lol
also- boost emblems are important, but you can also get tickets, coins, and item enhancers through the fashion rewards, so imo thats a personal preference. also, you cant buy items through coins- you can only buy them using fashion tickets and gems
Yeah specially coins bro. It is so hard to collect. But in every 2 spin I at least get 320 coins. Imagine doing 6 spins. But yeah do this only when you are done with your emblems
@@georgesannders i totally misremembered, its been several months since i bought all the items and couldve sworn it was gems, not coins, as the other option since everything else in that shop is tickets/gems 💀 my bad
@@georgesannders would recommend not heading off corrective comments with 'actually' though, might make the comment have a different tone than youre intending
The one funny thing to me is so far I seem to be the only "Thanks" pinger that actually means thanks XD an example is if I pinged I need backup and then go back up then id ping thanks back for the help :p
I love genuine Thanks! players!! I used to be one but they ruined it for me.. I once had someone help me and I pinged them a ty and we started doing spins together, never forgot that. The whimsy of being genuine. ❤
I will continue to ping check it out on the single strike urshifu that sat in the bushes during the ray fight (we wouldve won if they had helped), came out to steal when ray still had half of its health, and died. I understand a steal attempt, but he sat in the bushes and didn't help during the fight at all and didn't even try to kill the VERY low clefable that was RIGHT next to them which proceeded to healed their entire team
9:33 THIS! This is so true. I am a supporter main, and it simply makes me frustrated, especially when people ping me "Defend our goal zone!" on my own since they died after rushing the enemy team or "I need backup!" to a questionable AND pointless fight to score measly points or "Help me!"/"Check it out" because I didn't use my unite at 3;00. These sometimes drives me to avoid healing them out of spite and save my skills for someone else lmao 0:18 Also, please keep this first point in mind. 75% of my games are mostly supporters like Elde, Clefable and Blissey sometimes defenders. I ALSO want to play OTHER Pokémon, but in draft, I rarely see anyone filling the role of either support or defender and I can't do both. (Also, stop pinging "Defender needed" because I rather heal and give buffs) Please learn how to play other roles as well. In my case, I'm trying to learn how to be a carry and ignore my mentality of being a supporter like tanking spears/mew's boosted/psystrike or being frontline then giving kills to the enemy team. (By the way, I do the last bit as a support because respawning provides unite charge~ and since I'm usually the lowest level with exp share, I provide the least beneficial exp amount when killed.)
I dont know which draft habit i hate more. The person who bans the mon you can grab as first pick that you have clearly pre-picked, or the ones who manage to somehow forget how to press buttons so they dont ban anything.
I dunno with that last one. I ping check it out when regis pop and no one is there or the jungler doesn't go back to jungle and they're losing their fights.
A bit unrelated but watching this video I remember about those holowear tickets that you can use to buy some holowear. I have been in the game since the beginning and I bought all those holowears and I have plenty of those tickets and they don't release more of that holowear.... Same with coins and tickets, I have plenty of everything but nothing to buy with it... They don't release new items or anything you can buy, just one pokemon every 2-3 months... it's hard to keep being a everyday player, it's boring
I mentioned this in the subreddit. They're too busy dropping money grabs to realize their legacy players are sitting around with handfuls of tickets waiting for new free holowear to be introduced. It's infuriating.
I use 'check it out' to ping missing enemies, upcoming objectives where I'm going, and if I'm jungling I'm pinging jungle if I give up my rotation for someone else. Unfortunately, nobody ever seems to understand me though
I don't understand the weird clear clip. It looks like they get all 4 bunnlebees, steal a last hit from the opponent and then get a first goal / potential stack in without any trouble. What am I missing?
I do legit Check it Outs sometimes though - like if I know enemy is planning am ambush in a location I see someone running to, or if someone is on a regi from the enemy team and we need to try to steal it and someone is nearby, etc. I ping an AFK sometimes too so my team sees and can report it later too.
And sometimes the early game is stacking your score item as fast as possible, which can be annoying. Which is why they should change how to get stacks by implementing a 10 point minimum to stack.
I use check it out to ping one of the Regis when the timer is still going on for one of them as to say "hey, we should take on this Regi first, so let's head there before it spawns in"
For your "only spend coins on pokemon", I have to add "or emblem pages" since those can only be bought with coins or gems. and if you want a page for reds, (or anything else) you need more pages (eventually). For the "check it out" ping, I've found, if someone is spamming "check it out" at someone else, as a 3rd party, pinging the pinger once or twice can say "actually, you're the one in the wrong", I find more often then not, they actually calm down/get embarrassed and stop their pings (some times they are a lost cause, and just start pinging you too). Finally, you are missing the critical thing not to do, though you kinda implied it with the "save for ray" and "don't copy pros" which is the classic "don't push the T2 goal at 2:30", which is easily the number one cause of losing games, followed closely by ripping ray when not needed.
Depends on the situation and respawn time. If you're low health and intentionally dive bomb into a fight just before Ray, you can superjump back with full health and full unite ready to pull off a clutch secure.
Like I said it's situational. If you still have about 20-30 seconds left before Ray then you can attempt to do so and hope you don't have a higher respawn than the time left for Rayquaza to spawn. Although in general suicide charging is usually something you shouldn't have to do unless you're a tank saving your teammates.
as someone who gets annoyed at the unite pretty often, and has friends who get annoyed often too, i kinda get the feeling that a lot of people feel pretty negative playing unite, so i always have thanks on my chat wheel to try and make my team feel appreciated (when they deserve it)
Two caveats to the "don't ping 'Check it out!'": 1) I think "check it out" on the map is totally legit, when you're pointing out things to try to rally the team, like the countdown timer for an objective. That's especially useful if you don't have one of the "Let's gather at the [x] path!" options. I'll also sometimes ping our jungle, if the jungler hasn't cleared their farm in a bit, just to remind people that there's XP sitting on the map waiting to be gotten. 2) I'll ping "check it out!" on allies who are AFK idling, to bring it to everyone's attention so they can report them after the match if it ends up being an issue. I never ping "check it out" in _anger_ ... it's _so_ obnoxious. I've even been on a team with people who did that and said "hey, can we not ping spam? I'm super frustrated too, but the spam doesn't really help" and... well, that player and I aren't on friend lists anymore, lol.
3:40 whenever I hear this, my mind instantly goes to THAT League of Legends WC and Faker's Zed... well, the weeks after that moment, actually 💀 changed MOBAs forever
I've noticed people complaining about lack of content for pokemon unite. I have alot of trouble locating detailed video guides for pokemon. Make it make sense
draft is so difficult sometimes because you see a pokemon that can counter their team, but you dont get to choose it because the other team realizes it as well
me when i was a noob and used super held item enhancer on leftovers, rocky helment and assault vest leftovers on crustle can be underrated during early game though
@@trainerrichard6859 i mean it depends when i was in vet i fould leftovers really useful in early game as crustle because everyone kept using the berries even at 90% health
@@DaEevsterit is but when pokemon unite hasn't got much to unlock anymore it just piles up now, I've got nearly 1000 so far because there isn't much point 😅
the weird clear is done by stackers. people who run the entire time without stopping so they can get orbs to score initial goal before the other team gets down the path. it's effective if you know what you're doing. I get a 3 stack by the time they reach the bottom and then I dip back and clear my side fully. if they do the weird clear as well you can get 1 score then instantly retreat. the idea is to get your 5 stack at least before the first goal is busted. its too hard to get stacks after the tier 1 goals are gone.
That last one is very good advice. We don't need random strangers mindlessly telling you how you should be playing the game from their perspective. Definitely ignore them. I'm gonna assume this vid is for beginners or those on the fence on what to do with their items, PKMN, how to play competitively in ranked and so on because these most definitely don't apply to me since I've played this game ling enough to do things my way and spend money on certain PKMN and items when needed. Step 1: Don't ever waste time in ranked matches to begin with if you're not a serious competitive player. Casual gameplay FTW. Tsareena FTW.
Still not mentioning the #1 thing that needs to be discussed...don't have a B-tier. All jokes aside, I still think a point that needs to be driven home is how bad it is to abandon lane at the start of the game to steal farm from the central area. All that does is put the jungle behind, and your sacrificing priority in your intended lane to do it, plus farm there because the enemy team with two to a lane is going to bully the solo laner you left behind and get more of the early farm, so it really just loses the game on two fronts.
Number 7 is right. I hate when I'm going jungle and a random goes with their support "helping" me farm it fast. Whenever it happens it doesn't give you anything but an angry partner that was struggling alone in lane thanks to that genius support. I don't care what others think but if you do that I stop farming jungle until you leave and go to your lane or throw the match.
I'm a new player, so this video helps. The only one that I do is #6 (Save your unite). As a support main, I hate when my teammates do that weird clear. I've played other MOBAs and this is the only game where I see people running past free EXP to get to lane laster. It also doesn't help that I have the EXP Share as well. I didn't even know the chat wheel exists, I'm curious how people are able to ping a person, so I can turn that off.
For 1, the hard part is that I have to use carry Pokémon to get to masters. Speedster, attackers, all rounders. Once I get to masters I pick bottom 2 spots, everyone wants me to play defenders or support. Defenders I'm good with are almost always banned, Ho ho, Trevenant, and slo bro. I suck with playing support. So I choose all rounder. Coming from someone who hits 1600 master.
On economy, I've been playing mostly f2p and I have every pokemon, every gold emblem., every item maxed, and 3 extra boost pages. I have nothing else to spend gold on. If 2 new items come out of nowhere, I'll buy em with gold and use my stock of item enhancers to max them out and still have a surplus.
Also if you see a magikarp whose level 6 who still hasn’t evolved they are out of the way fighting wild pokemon to finally evolve and you happen upon them don’t steal their secures your hindering your own team at that point throw a 1-2 auto attack to help maybe but don’t out right steal their last hit
Well, I'm only using the "Check it out!" ping when: - someone went afk - jungler's overstaying on lane, stealing farm instead of going back to clear the next jungle rotation - I died and saw enemy movement close to where teammates are positioning - that one random decided to go backcap their 20 points at Ray instead of helping in the fight... - that one crybaby that spams "Thanks!" and decided to troll the team by taking farm and feeding opponents
Been stuck in ultra class 3 for so long because as soon as I get to class 2, all of a sudden my teammates forget to play and I'm straight back to class 3
I don't think check it out is in the same tier as thanks. It can actually be used to draw attention to certain points of the map, it's very versatile. There's pretty much no reason to ping a player directly though.
Once 4 of my teammates soent their unite moves in a 4vs2!!!! It was 13 seconds before Rayquaza. Somehow I stole Rayquaza with a Fly Talonflame and got with Flame Charge, but my 100 pointer after that made us win by 5 points. I scored 340 of the 400ish points in my team
I just started playing the game and have unlocked a new anxiety with those pings. i didnt know, and i wish i could forgett and still believe theyre thanking me :')
The Cynthia/Leon solo challenge has been the best tool for me to test out new characters. Low stakes simulated battles without pissing any randoms off lol
Hey spragels, i really enjoy playing the game but trying to grind up the ladder seems really annoying. Can you recommend mons that can make minimize getting flipped through ray?
So your point with people disregarding what is happening in draft I feel is not looking at the nuance of the draft system. Sometimes you’re stuck at the bottom two slots for 30+ games and it can be very frustrating when you keep going defender or supporter and your teams ADC or jungle just refuses to group or play with their teammates in general. So while you can blame the last two spots for not picking “a role that fits with the team” you can also shed blame on the other three spots for not acknowledging the roles or positions the last two already called.
I run attack weight so my “weird clear” is so I can get a free score to help boost my attack9/10 times it becomes the game winning strat. Especially with my extreme speed/outrage dragonite late game
In my case of the wierd clear it depends on the pokemon and the attacks, for example squirtle with water gun you can hit both of the wild pokemon plus if you aim exactly at both of them with the third basic attack it wil take them before reaching youre goalzone and youre opponent wont steal the exp. Then again it is not all the pokemon that can do that is a few little of them.
Yo Sprags, I noticed something you do in games is when the goal of the enemy is at like 5 or low you don't immediately break it till a bit later, care to explain. I've been a uniter for nearly a year and still I don't know.
Going to partially disagree on the last one, there's definitely a right and wrong way to use the chat wheel/check it out ping. Personally, I have going to top/bottom path, I need backup, and avoid fights until leveling up on my chat wheel. There's no reason to have Thanks! on the wheel with only four spaces. And check it out pings are helpful when you see a fight you can't get to that needs backup or for countdowns on objectives. Definitely use the pings sparingly though.
also when you play blissey and you lane with a larvitar/magikarp/gible, take all the EXP and last hit everything, you need them stuck at lv 6 the entire game
Weird clear with an Exp share Pokémon is the worst whether you are the exp share holder or your exp share ally does it. I don’t know how weird clear even started or became popular.
When my teammate starts pinging 'Check it out" I immediately ping back "Knock out the opposing team's Pokemon". I think that's a lot more scathing than 'thanks'
I see alot of comments disagreeing with the pinging, and it's making me laugh that they all seem to have missed the sentence "we get it, you think you know everything." Just know, that when you THINK youre telling your jungler to go back, or to gather at an objective, the result is most likely your teammates getting annoyed with you and doing the opposite out of spite. But hey, at least you know you didnt mean it that way, right! lol
Hey Spragels. There should be Champion rank and grand champion rank just saying 😮 Also I think a mode where you choose 3 different pokemon which you play at Max evo, and they act as ur 3 lives I think would be really cool. It also follows theme more of how original pokemon battles go. Just some ideas
11. i only ping check it out if an objective is up and no one is going to it or if ray is 30secs to spawn so people don't go ogabga waste unite into a useless fight unless there's actually a decent fight going close to 2:10, if u can get a ko there with a unite then its fine because the timer are good and if they have 1less teammate it puts u in a better position but if ur uniting and getting a kill at 2:30 u really got nothing done but waste your tool to secure the actual important fight
Wow a lot has really changed, i last played it on 2022 i remember i used to be Master 740 somethin i used to be on the leaderboard and i really am getting hype on playing it again because of gyrados
As a Canadian, navigating a game where using thanks is automatically assumed to be passive aggressive is... difficult. Sometimes thanks is just thanks- you're playing blissey and your egg just saved my behind? Thanks! You waited on the goal so I could score faster even though you were done? Thanks! And I really do mean it... or I try to ping "headed to top path" or something otherwise useful and accidently ping thanks at an inopportune moment... yeah maybe I should ditch that one. But I play supporters, its honestly nice when you get a teammate who takes advantage of and appreciates your help (I'm looking at you, weird clear exp share ignorers) 🤭
On the first point i kinda disagree the fact people stop when they reach master rank is reasonable because the rewards are actually not worth it to grind. Playing the game multiple times doesnt mean people learn how to play the game. The point being if rewards would be better players are more open to learn things for reach the rewards they want or complaing about it because are bad most likely. There isnt a solution to this other than making hard reach master.
I pick up one of my favourite pokemons which will be good for my team in terms of team comp (Except defenders and supporters) and my winrate has increased .....like if my first picks go for melee, I go for ranged and vice-versa
How about your thoughts on how they can change the way the scoring items work or change the way scoring works in general to prevent people from skipping the bunnies at the beginning and just trying to get the first few stacks because, the opposing team wants to play the way that they think is supposed to be the right way.
Personally, I use the "Thanks!" ping when I'm genuinely thanking someone. Although sometimes people probably think I'm being sarcastic...but that won't stop me from being the nice guy that says thanks!
3:01 Leftovers at level 30 got me cracking up but that's fair I guess, I mean, you've been playing for so long, have this ton of item enhancers and are just missing that one, might as well upgrade it
Love you covered wave clear. But ignored junglers who come for an early gank.... then steal the needed farm from top/bottom lane? I see it a lot in masters.
Sometimes you need to ping and let your team know where to go and what to do. Some players are just crazy not watching what’s happening on the map. They don’t go to the goals and let the enemy get it first. Like head to top or bottom or central or defend the goal or gather top/bottom/central. I never ping thanks haha never have used it.
I need to hit masters again. I haven't even played ranked for the last 5 or 6 seasons, and I would need to climb through the baby ranks again, and that sounds like a massive pain
some times i feel like when im first in draft im not even fully loaded enough to get to choose my ban and it just bans my current favorite pokemon which almost immediately tilts me
I watched without sound and skipped just to see the things you write and I learn to NEVER: 1. save your unite to ray, waste it before 2. Economy 3. Play early game. Just join later on, during ray fight(come without unite move as well)
For point #3: I've maxed out all of my items because I literally have nothing else to use my thousands upon thousands of item enhancers on... 😕 For point #5: I don't even have any boost emblems to use my energy rewards on because I've got them all. I don't even have fashion reward items to claim because I also have all of those... I have 200+ rewards to claim but sadly can't use them on anything because nothing new has been added. 🙁 For point #8: I have $50k gold but don't have any new Pokemon to unlock... Because I have all of the Pokemon currently. Sadly, there is nothing else to use my coins on because, well, there is nothing else to use my coins on... 😢 I don't know about anybody else, but I see a trend here in my few points. I am a F2P player, have only spent a bit on memberships but have cancelled that since they are now ripping us off with it removing the monthly hollowear and reducing the gems we get by 25%. I've only ever spent gems on hollowear btw
The last point is so true.. It’s usually the guy who jumped in a 1vs 5 scenario and somehow thinking “I got this..” then its genius plan failed miserably “ALL BECAUSE NO ONE’S HELPING ME!” And become a ping master.. ehm! Idiot master.. those wankers are better off AFK tbh..
