If you were kicking about on the pages of comic books since 1962, it’d make sense for you to have a few not-so-noteworthy villains to beat up in your spare time. Every comic book superhero in existence has a diverse & extensive pantheon of rogues dedicated to taking them down; the more popular they are, the more bad guys they end up facing. And considering the fact that he is Stan Lee’s favorite comic book character of all time, it only makes sense that Peter Parker’s Spider-Man has often gone up against the worst scums that New York City has to offer. Now entering his 6th decade in publication, the Webslinger has faced the who’s who of Marvel’s cosmic pyramid of supervillains and boasts one of the most-iconic supervillain factions ever seen. Spider-Man: No Way Homemade web-heads all over the world go rabid with anticipation, as we finally got to see the Sinister Six in a live-action Spider-Man film. Well, kind of, but we’ll let Doctor Strange sort out those multiversal shenanigans. It got us thinking, though; Spider-Man has one of the best rogues’ galleries ever penned, and while it was absolutely insane seeing Green Goblin, Doc Ock & even Venom pop up for a cup of coffee in the MCU, there is an ocean of intriguing-yet-underutilized baddies that our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man will probably never get to fight on the big stage.
