This man saved my life. I had debilitating neuropathy before I watched his previous video on B vitamin supplementation. It was literally lightning strikes out of no where usually in the middle of the night under my right arm and/or right foot. I was dumbfounded as to the cause. Couldn’t sleep and really bad quality of life issue. I stopped the proton pump inhibitors (prilosec) and all alcohol and immediately sought a doctor’s advice and was dreadfully low in B vitamins after a blood test. Was prescribed B vitamin shots and then started B vitamin supplementation as well. The neuropathy completely went away. I would never had done this without Dr. Berg.

As someone who has just been diagnosed with B6 toxicity from ingesting just 50mg B6 daily (half the allowed level) - it was hidden in my magnesium supplement - take care with how much B6 you take. Toxicity is just as bad as depleted levels for neuropathy and other symptoms.

Holy Cow, the symptoms you stated at the beginning of this video are all symptoms I had as a child...around 9-11, including the depression!!! I am now 67 and trying desperately to heal my body from my prior life, and so much of the damage happened in childhood. I tried to eat healthy as an adult, but things like probiotics where not even talked about, let alone the bad advice like eating no butter, and only whole wheat. Then, poverty has its own set of issues.

Kefir is the bombdiggity, a cup or two a day every day and its basically a script of antidepressants, minus the negative evil stuff. Lmbo so not anything like antidepressants other than the name. But Kefir helps my anxiety and energy, all of that. I actually found for me, it works immediately upon consuming. Some they notice it after days, weeks, or a month or so. But a cup or two a day, sometimes even less if you want to make it last and still get the good bacteria in your system, and you are on the road to delicious creamy tangy goodness of health. lol

People need to be aware of the fact that despite B6 being water soluble, it has a long half life of 25-33 days. In other words, B6 stays in your body for months before it is eliminated. Correcting toxicity can be a tricky affair given its long half life.

Unless you have lab results that indicate you have a deficiency in one specific B vitamin, take a B Complex. There's a reason B vitamins are sold as a complex formula - it's not for convenience. B vitamins REQUIRE the correct proportions to exist, relative to each other, in order to function correctly in your body. If these ratios are not respected, it create an imbalance. Imbalance creates problems - the very least of which reduces the effectiveness of the other B vitamins in your system. Unfortunately, this rather important point is never mentioned (this video didn't mention either).

@@mrs.rivera3645 it's unlikely though that they tested her with the correct tests. Check her records and see if she had a Methylmalonic acid and Homocysteine test. In short, all symptoms related to amino acid & protein metabolism will show up on B6 deficiency esp inability of the body to synthesize the active bioavbl form P5P - pyridoxal 5 phosphate from pyridoxine, that in turn requires several cofactors including b2(r5p), b6 (as p5p itself!), zinc and magnesium. As most neurotransmitters, hormones, enzymes are proteins or peptides and as most structural proteins (collagen, elastin) also peptides, hence B6 is truly critical. ....esp when two critical minerals zinc and magnesium themselves require b6 for optimal absorption.

I feel like this is a problem that I face. I mean, I generally eat an extremely healthy and clean diet. However, every time I eat fish (sometimes white, sometimes fatty; usually once per week), I feel like an Ancient Roman God for that night and the following day. My common meals often have a good source of Omegas, so I feel that it is the good source of B vitamins in fish that drastically enhances my mood and overall being. I also have the gut issues that you have described here. Recently, I started to drink kefir, and that has already helped tremendously with the digestion part. However, that is only providing me primarily with vitamin D and B2. Therefore, I decided to snag a B complex vitamin to provide me with B6 and B12, as that should (hopefully) complete my vitamin needs from my strictly all natural diet. Right now, I feel kinda crummy mentally... But, hopefully that changes once I try taking my B Complex vitamin tomorrow morning!

Tl;dr I am poor or jobless in the US and can't spend $30+ in food a day and our mass produce has no nutritive value anymore and quality meat is unaffordable so our supplement culture is both out of control and unregulated so it sort of feels like, without a safety net for the masses, some people in-the-know are trying to kill us of via malnutrition because they didn't expect a 70 year population boom. Remember, less than 10% of us are the richest nation on the planet. The rest live way below the health line of other developed nations. If you are not 'private farm-to-table rich' you will get sick sooner than later.

If you have not, can you make a video on Okinawa? And/or regions where people live to be 100 and still walk around and seem healthy compared to 60 year olds in USA. It may seem obvious to most of us, but still good content to spread, and information needed to some if not most. For example their diet, lifestyle, water they drink, and the mindsets of the people etc. Up to you, but I think it would be a great idea. Again I am not sure if you may have a video, or at least have brought it up in another video of yours, as you cover a lot and give a lot of knowledge, but thanks for reading Dr Berg. Also ONE more thing. Growing algae, kelp etc. Sound like a good idea? for eating of course. I think that would be great to learn to do. Anyone reading, you can grow cruciferous vegetables easy kale especially, without any storebought stuff other than seeds. Mine I have never used anything from store other than compost from storebought compostable foods... Literally you can scrape the grass away with a shovel and plant a seed of kale, it will grow. I mean trial and error, just for those who do not think they can do it, its not complicated like they make it seem. Collard greens too , easy. It is good to break up the soil a good 2 ft for roots but even then I had last year and a half no digging, still it grew, even if sideways it grew lol. Had plenty to freeze, still in bag in freezer. Was way better than storebought and cheaper.

@@woodchuk1 I think you may confuse serotonin or melatonin with something else. Actually I heard melatonin depletes dopamine but I’ve been taking to sleep for a very long time. It might only have this effect temporarily I’m not sure. And you may confuse B6 with HTP? I haven’t looked all this up since a long time but I feel you might be confusing two things. I think B6 might be precursor though if that’s what you mean..? But it would still take a lot of conversions and still not really be able to reach the brain sufficiently… but if that’s the case, if it’s a precursor, and that’s what you meant, then theoretically it may make sense, even though it doesn’t really cross the brain barrier. Even HTP doesn’t really work as it potentially could in theory, meaning the effect is very weak or non-existent in most cases

A Good Dr👨‍⚕ advised me to take Magnesium, D3, Vitamin K2-MK7 & B6-P5P(activated-pyridoxal-5-phosphate) at the same time. One important function & benefit of Vitamin D3 is that it helps the body absorb Calcium which in turn plays a part in how the body absorbs Magnesium. The levels of Vitamin B6-P5P in the body determines how much Magnesium will be absorbed into the cells. Vitamin D3 ensures calcium is absorbed easily & Vitamin K2-MK7 activates the protein, osteocalcin, which integrates Calcium into bone. Without D3 & K2, Calcium can not do its job effectively. Vitamin K2-MK7 activates matrix GLA protein (MGP) to bind excess Calcium & promote arterial flow & flexibility. ➡D3 is fat soluble so the Dr said to take all these with a meal because they'll absorb better.

It’s very overwhelming to know which vitamins to take and not to take so many because they can interact. It’s hard to find a good doctor like him that can guide me through especially with my insurance. I’m planning to go back to a keto diet but knowing which vitamins to supplement with is the hard part. That's a scary amount of B6. I've got toxic from 4 years of unknowingly taking 50mg daily (it was in a magnesium supplement I was taking). Obviously I don't know anything about treating the condition of your children and I'm sure you should follow the neurologist advice, but I would get as many opinions as possible about this. I've just learned today that the European allowed daily level of B6 in supplements is 25mg and they are considering reducing it to just 12mg.
@helenevion5948
@helenevion5948 8 месяцев назад
@@carokat1111 There are different types of b6. Natural b6 is great at high amounts, especially with d, etc. Synthetic b6 causes issues but is still used by standard brands..
@carokat1111
@carokat1111 8 месяцев назад
@@helenevion5948 I now know I was given synthetic B6. It's used widely and it's toxic. The European union allows only 25m, compared to the US and Australia 100gr amount, and has a proposal on the table to reduce the maximum amount to 12mg. I'm Australian and I've just written to our regulators to act now to reduce the allowable quantity. I have two years ahead of me to recover from the neuropathy it has caused. I am warning everyone because many people have little information and we have an epidemic of vitamin supplementation in society.

This is all very interesting although I am aware I have very high B6 levels that have been diagnosed as my cause of Neuropathy & mine was caused purely from my diet only, no supplements taken. One diet example is Nestle Milo which I was enjoying daily, a 20g serve (whoever sticks to the serving with milo as well lol) contains 31% of a daily 1.3mg RDA (Recommended daily amount). I would hate to think what levels my Vitamin B6 would be at now if I had watched your video & started to take 200mg per day before checking my levels. I'm already in enough discomfort at the high level I'm currently at. Thanks for taking the time to read my comment.

Can you describe your symptoms from high b6? Thanks
@calebss6321
@calebss6321 5 месяцев назад
B6 toxicity isn't due to high B6 it's more due to unbalanced ratios of b vitamins. The way to resolve high B6 is taking B1 and magnesium to utilise the B6 then eventually a good b complex to balance the ratios . The real issues are not B6 at all. It's low B1 that B6 has depleted due needing to be converted to an active form until B1 has become low and B6 piles up . Blood test also are difficult to identify b vitamins as it will say was in the blood but not what's in the cells.
@KamasKarisma

@@calebss6321 I thankyou for explaining this although I'm curious as to how this would explain that since being on a 1.3mg daily restricted B6 diet in 1 month my B6 blood tests came back into the normal levels. Since my B6 have come back into the normal levels most my symptoms of Neuropathy have disappeared, and the ones that haven't have extremely lessened. All I've done for the past 8weeks is stop taking my magnesium in Effervescent Tablet form (as high levels of magnesium daily, will also interfere with the absorption and use of B6 which means more is left in the body and not excreted), and completely change my diet using a specially designed app that you log your food in & it uses food databases that have B6 listed to be able to successfully restrict my diet to 1.3mg per day. Looking forward to hearing more from you inregards to my new communication provided. With thanks.
