Sorry. But I'm on the dad's side. We live in a society that is advancing in tech a lot. Grades matter when they do matter. But taking him away from his passion will make him become more of a failure in the future.

Feetus Deletus Asian parents have habits of comparing their kids to other kids. Asian mentality is, “look at other people, see, you are never good enough so work harder.” This is actually good and bad at the same time. Good because it keeps you on your feet and bad for those who can’t cope with the stress.

I do want him to be able to pursue what he likes, but unless he does very well at the one thing, he might not even be able to get a job. There are so many people that can do things better then he can why would they chose him over someone else.
@movingchannels2203
@movingchannels2203 2 года назад
@@ShadowLTM Just because someone can do something better than you doesn’t mean you’re not eligible for that job That’s like saying because your dog has longer fur They won’t be able to survive in warm climate areas It’s dumb and stupid If I don’t get a job as a Disney animator I’ll try and get a job for another company You don’t just go “WHOOPS WELL I DIDN’T GET THAT JOB GUESS I HAVE TO CHOOSE ANOTHER CAREER BUT THIS ONE I DON’T LIKE BUT I’M ONLY IN IT FOR THE MONEY” You try and find a job similar to it The “Someone may be better than you” argument is honestly completely invalid in some cases Example Some animation jobs don’t care about how well you do for character designs or how fluid your style is Sometimes they’ll pay attention to how well you work around and with others for create the finished product. If someone is better than you at art styling or animating, it doesn’t mean they are gonna work well with others If they don’t work well with others but you do, expect to get the job. The whole “Someone may be better than you” argument is extremely stupid. It’s saying that if someone is better than you at something, you’re never gonna get a career in your field that *you* want to do.

The parents CAN decide for him in his age. But the decisions they make for him must be good for his health and we'll being. They can get him to be in classes sure, but only if he's fine with it. But if a decision has to be made in more serious stuff (Medicine and health or laws for example) then the parents can decide for him since he's too young to understand that, but the parents HAVE to make a proper choice, otherwise the outcome with be bad. @@ethansalvari Investing in properties and letting people rent your homes are 2 THINGS. And let me tell you - this society is absolute BULLSH*T. He is getting decent grades is what will allow him to enter the tech sector. Because some people only rely on your grades and nothing. I think he should follow his passion but also get decent grades. School is not a education system but a system which allows you a pass to do anything, not freely but at least do something. Some people don't even let uneducated people to get a SMALL job. "Grades are your future, they are important to your future." Sure, you take this genius and put him into a box, suck the passion out of him, make him distrust his family, take away a competitive advantage for him in robotics, all for what? A number on a paper? What's the point of getting a high score for your future if your future is going to be miserable? Isn't his health more important for the future anyway? EDIT: This comment section is the written equivalent of a verbal beatdown. We get it, grades don't matter except for when they do. Please remain civil. Thanks, and keep up the good fight as we prove that grades are really worth nothing! 2ND EDIT: I stopped reading these a long time ago, but recently, somebody brought up a point that I rather agree with. Not to mention, enough time has passed and I've experienced enough to safely conclude that grades aren't meaningless. Nonetheless, they are not the be-all-end-all, for a fully intelligent person is still only half a person should they be deprived of any emotional capacity, health or passion to use said intellect. That's why I don't really agree with the comment about "high school is just there for you to pass" - key example being, say, art class, where reflections are what actually gather marks because it's high school. But nobody goes to art class to write artist statements, they go there to learn how to draw, as near-inconsequential to the mark as it may be. (I should know, I became a TA to a high school art teacher.) Again, reminder to keep it civil, geez.
