The reason I love records like these is its something so simple, yet so incredibly difficult. The task is simply to lift the object. Anyone can attempt to try it. People have been lifting things since the dawn of time. And yet, this is the first time in human history that someone has actually lifted the 500kg. The biggest amount ever lifted. Incredbile.

Watching this always makes me tear up a little. After hearing his interview about the lift, he said in order to move the weight he needed his adrenaline to spike dramatically. Rather than inject himself, he talked about going to a hypnotist and a therapist to help him mentally trigger his body to produce the needed adrenaline. He said he imagined horrible things happening to his children and wife just prior to the lift to induce that anger and rage. The thought of a man so desperately trying to save his family from something and being able to lift 500kg because of it always gets me.
@EliteGi
@EliteGi 8 месяцев назад
It's beautiful, he even looks at the crowd whilst holding 500kg AFTER he knows he has done the lift because it means so much to him and he wants to take it all in. That's a human doing insane feats on emotion.
@Ryan-qn1wr

Id also imagine that years of lifting, tapping into that near 1 rep max, ect. helps you break through the bodys natural limiting system more easily.
@Cheeseberry69
@Cheeseberry69 5 месяцев назад
For me it's one of the best feelings in the world. When you go for that new PR, a weight you couldn't comprehend when you first started deadlifts. You've braced, pushed and the weight actually moves... now it's passed the knees and you know it's happening... your legs start to shake, you're not sure if it's the pressure your body is under or from the pure adrenaline rushing through your body... before you have time to think the weight is up, you're fully locked, standing tall... it feels like you're holding nothing after what you're body has just been through... right there... before you even begin to think about lowering the weight... absolute euphoria. The numbers on the plates don't matter, it's all about you, your record, your experience, your progression. We can only imagine the buzz Eddie felt holding what was believed to be an impossible weight at that point and looking out at the crowd cheering in disbelief at what they're witnessing. Absolutely mental.

He stayed silent while Kamala Harris ripped up his economic plan, which she correctly noted was based on a tax cut for the wealthy and a sales tax on all imported goods. When it was his turn to respond, he accurately pointed out that the Biden administration had made no attempt to end the tariffs he imposed on China. Happy Monday All! @grthym21 he wasn't "checking" them,he just was the one putting them on the scale in front of Magnus Ver Magnusson,the strongman legend who judged thors attempts The scale would show the same number no matter who put the plates on it so yeah Wilbert is just another stupid eddie fanboy trying to undermine the legitimacy of Thors lift And to be clear,i am a huge fan of eddie but this time he is wrong, Thors lift was fucking legit and noone can take it from him

How is Thor supposed to deadlift 501 kg in an actual event with the coronavirus epidemic going on right now? Pls ur your head next time 😪🤷🏽‍♂️

He’s not supposed to, but we’ve been in lockdown 6 weeks and won’t be on lockdown forever. Seams like a funny time to do it.4 years after eddie did it.and learn to write properly.

You do know that thor also competed in this comp. and he has tried 500kg before this new 501 wr right? It took thor 4 more years to get it done and he worked hard for it too. Don't disrespect old world record holders just because there's a new one. Both of them deserve respect.
@Vuonatjviken
@Vuonatjviken 4 года назад
@@achyutamkhajuria8162 No disrespect, just saying that Thor did it with style. So much easier and no damage on him. Thor was training the day after, Eddie was injured for a long time after this.

@achyutamkhajuria8162

@@Vuonatjviken and what does that change? Both did the lift. Now they're both going to bank off of it too. Thor had some petty 'follower goals' too. He's probably gonna do a 510-520 sometime again to bring up the hype for the fight too. Its just a cashgrab from both sides right now, don't blame them for it, but honestly now a week after, don't care about what either do.

Eddie managed it hold lift and hold 500kg in the air for about the same time it took Usain bolt to run 100m! Absolutely insane! It's amazing what peak humans can do!

So sad for the soft knees. Fortunately for Hall, he was in a competition made by him for him in England so everyone thinks that he has done it but no. The 463 kilos deadlift without suit is far more impressive for me.
