I have the same wheeler and I've always hated the sagging suspension. So I upgraded to EPI springs and it was a total game changer. I highly recommend.
I will look into that. The IRS lock out works but I do have to replace the pins from time to time. They have a tendency to bend. This is a cheap solution so it has limits.
I run a Honda 350 Rancher and hang way too much weight for comfort off the rear doing the same with 1 man for road travel. Looked at dads Rincon to borrow for next year saw the Indy suspension and remembered your other video. Now I know what I’m getting for next year! Thanks for sharing love the DIY part of Ice fishing!
Kolpin makes great products. I use their products to clamp my ice auger to my sled. Heavy duty, light and relatively inexpensive. Thanks for the update. Tight lines, my friend.
You can get some sway if you are going fast and turn sharp. You won't want to kit the trails with this set up. Hahaha. Not unsafe as is but it does have some effect on the steering. I just slow down.
Been waiting for this to see how it worked out for you ! I’ll be getting one for my King Quad tomorrow. I run the same exact setup as you only difference is I have an Otter Cottage. Maybe just a tad lighter. What lakes do you fish in Minnesota ? My sister in law lives in Grand Rapids
Its working great so far. Now, I don't drive super fast with it locked out and slow down for bumps and drifts. As you know, without suspension, bumps will make that carrier whip up and down a lot more. I was on Mille Lacs a week ago when it had all the big drifts that were hard as concrete. I did notice that the carrier got whipped up and down a lot more. I live pretty close to the St. Croix River, Bald Eagle and Big Carnelian. Those are my go to close bodies of water. Nothing like the walleye factory lakes up north. I like West Rush too for crappies.
I have an old X2 model and I use it for plowing snow in winter and hauling firewood with a 4x6 trailer almost year round. My ATV has the suspension behind the rear tires and I never have a problem with my machine sagging. Maybe someone should build a suspension relocation kit.
I have an 2016 570 X2. I didn’t use the u bolts to install it. I used the straight bolts and omitted the back plate because the bolts were not long enough.Did I installed it right? The installation pictures for the Polaris were pretty bad to figure out.
I will second Kolpin's products and add that their customer service is top notch as well. I have their ice auger mount, snow plow mount and plow blade, as well as side view mirrors on my ATV.
