Super interesting CEO and a great video, but how do businesses like this who make multi million pound losses year on year get awarded such high valuations from investors?
actually not letting go of an underperformed is the worst thing for a team.. it creates resentment, it poisons the team.. Unfortunately in many big companies especially IT, if they let go of the bad apple, they might not be able to reclaim that slot and hire someone else. So managers tend to hold on to the slot because that gives them more people to manage, thus their ranking in the hierarchy.. This is really one of the biggest problems in big IT. and I have quit many times because of this. So, indeed you have to be firm and think of the health of your team. It is not a family if the team becomes toxic because of the bad apples. We stop performing.
