11th Performance - Dartmouth Aires - "Sympathy For The Devil" & "Born This Way" Remix - SO - S3 

I feel like Brandon killed this performance in my opinion. In a good way :)

I also meant to add, I absolutely love Brendan's singing from 3:09-3:10

It's 2021 and I still can't hear either song without thinking of this mash-up performance. Wonderful!

Michael has the voice but man Brandon is one hell of a performer.

I honestly think this is one of the best performances on the show through any season, and I can't stop listening to it even 5 years later. Their voices are amazing.

This is actually my half- favorite Aires number. Brendan is perfection during this, I just wish the whole thing had been Sympathy for the Devil.

I actually think this is on par with the Queen medley.

This is one of my favorite performance ever!! Brendan was really good (and hot ;) ) This deserves more than a C+ in my opinion (watching in 2016, lol anybody else?)

This group should go to Broadway. Especially Michael.

I loved this performance! I loved the sound, I thought it was about as exciting as their theatrics. Brendan had a growl in his voice that i thought was perfect for the devil. And there are just no words for michael, he is godlike. Feel free to disagree (politely) but that is my opinion. I loved these guys and I'm so glad they got second place since PTX was my #1 :)

Still enjoyable. I haven't seen the Dartmouth Aires performances in a while but they really stand the test of time. I was only going to watch one but I have to see them all. Don't know what these guys are doing now but I hope they have good memories of being on the Sing Off! I sure do. That was a great year. That was the start of Pentatonix and what they've gone on to so since then.

LOVE. BRENDAN. SO GOOD. I think Mick would be really proud of the way he spun that vocal.

I'm going to go public again and disagree. I don't think that listening to this without the choreo detracts in any way. Quite the contrary: I think it sounds better coming through my car stereo than it does through my computer speakers. In short, I think the choreo might have distracted from their performance as a whole. Put them on risers in a studio with a good producer and they'd be blowing speakers off the walls. And yes, I'm still a PTX fan. But this contest was a lot closer than this.

This is one of my favorite performances by them. One of the few times I disagreed with the judges. Absolutely dramatic and beautiful!!

I hope Michael's on Broadway these days. He was so sexy and talented.

I meant 3:09-3:40 ! Stunning and impressive vocals from Brendan during that part. It's my gave part of the whole song!

They are master performers but you can hear the tolls it takes on their voice control. they've been getting better but I still think a recording contract is the wrong direction for these guys to go. They do better on a stage.

I think Brendan sung the hell out of this solo. I enjoyed his voice here when I actually didn't like his voice when he sung Animal. But this, this was cool! C+ seems too harsh, I would at least give a B+ or A-!

Man, I never heard of this show before until I seen Pentatonix so I watched them through RU-vid and so I wanted to see the competition. WOW, this would have been a HUGELY HARD decision...........I Love them both......

The uploader seems to have a serious dislike of this group based on his comments on several of their songs. Very biased.

The two sections for each song were great, but what makes it so good IMO is the ability to combine them and use certain aspects of the original songs when they got to the last half. It was a really amazing choice from an arranger's point of view, especially from 3:23 - 3:48. Definite A from me: one of the best three songs they performed!

I thought this was a great arrangement; just wasn't a huge fan of how it ended up sounding. Voices sound too tired and compressed. Granted, this is the second of their three performances that show, but I just wish they could redo this song for one of their studio tracks.

People need to stop complaining about the reviews. Its an opinion and he's not even bashing them he's just stating his opinion. Stop whining of bias, its an opinion and he's not in any position of authority. He also has valid points considering the prize of this show is a recording contract and this group is definitely more about the performance aspect and you do need to see them to enjoy them.

i have said this before and will say it again. the dartmouth aires are a good group and deserve more than a biased review. i wish they had won but pentatonix was good as well. still... just because you dont like the dartmouth aires doeesnt mean you should bash them in every single review you post. other people like the aires and just because you dont doesnt mean you should bash them every time.

Dear mrduckbear11, I am trying my hardest to connect with your train of thought when you listen to these performances. I still don't understand why you give some really unusual grades for many or most of the performances that have been done on this season of the Sing-Off. Sometimes, you just seem a little too harsh. Last season's On the Rocks would blow them away anytime. They were not that impressive overall. But for this season, they were the best out of those college type groups. If they were in season 1 or 2, they wouldn't have lasted as long.

@mrduckbear11 I think you've hit the nail on the head. They aren't really suited to the recording studio while Pentatonix is studio-ready (and even Urban Method to a certain extent. I still dislike UM though).

Showmen ship HELL YES!! but over all HOT MESS! I agree with most when you say show in Vegas. The really need to button up their vocals. They do that, and surely they would be bad ass.

I just found this performance annoying, like too much noise. Im still thinking they're really entertaining, but this one was a little bit exaggerated. Just my opinion.

Those are two very hard songs especially to put together. Both sides were holding their part down, the beat was constantly there, and combining on one bass beat was GENIUS!

The first time I saw this I thought "so the moral here is that Lady Gaga is...God?" Oh man, I have never been so close to becoming an atheist in my whole life.

Gawd, I luv these guys! NBC is considering canceling the 2012 season of The Sing Off and I'll be sadly disappointed if they do.

It just seems a little too theatrical for me on this performance, and the arrangement could have been better.

You know what else has high energy? A radio (playing the Dartmouth Aires) in a bathtub. Try it. Yes, I'm bitter they took the spot of an actually MUSICALLY impressive group (such as Afro Blue). I thought they were okay. But their Queen medley got way more hype than it should have. That's what propelled them this far.

It's the battle of the raspy voice. It reminds me in a away of when Seal and Michael Bolton did a mash up of when a man loves a woman adn man's world. melting.. They were awesome anyone that can sing live acapella like this is awesome regardless of anyone's a opinion. it is truly its own art form.

I agree about not being the group for a recording contract, but I still enjoy them. Michael is amazing and Brendan did a great job on this one. I'd go to see them live, but I will definitely be buying up a record by Pentatonix!

Lol! My thoughts exactly. Lol. Let us say it is Devil vs 'Good' Man. Brendan and Michael were the leads, right? They were awesome! I loved that moment at right around 3:22, with that little face off of the two sides. That was awesome! C= I loved this performance.

there's no doubt that michael is crazy talented, but brendan doesnt get nearly as much respect as he's due; he's such a beast
