Replaced my battery on my iPhone and headphone jack on my iPad this year, all thanks to fixit’s guides and community. Hoping you guys get through to the government and thank you for all the help!
keeping water resistance on newer phones is enough reason for me to not want to do any jobs myself. I've stopped taking apart iphones since the 7. 3rd party authorized service providers with access to everything would be nice though
It’s just me, or it looks like that Apple it’s no cramming the maximum (headphone jack, larger batteries, etc) in these new products. Just like the previous iPad Pro, its looks to me that they have a considerable amount of unused space inside.
QUARANTINE #Day4 i am 100 percent confident in my ability that i won't ever be able to buy any of apple products in my life but still, I am watching its teardown. now i know how to open every phone without having any of those expensive phones and tech.
Y'all didn't bother mentioning that the iPhone uses a structured light system which HAS to be dense to work (by comparing each dot to the ones around it), whereas the iPad uses time-of-flight (each dot is being measured individually) so it has very little need for a dense grid of dots. Two vastly different techs, and you just described them as if they were the same thing because they both use IR...
It’s not that we didn’t bother! That’s just a lot to explain in a quick video. We weren’t trying to completely conflate the two technologies-you’re absolutely right, they’re very different!
Curious to see how things have changed on the new 2021 M1 iPad Pro! Expecting it to be bascially the same thing for the 11” at least. Perhaps with the Mini LED display we’ll see something at least slightly different? Better not get my hopes up 😂
@@Trekeyus it's not. I watched the bend tests. It's slightly better, but if the 2018 iPad Pro was a thin sheet of glass, then the 2020 iPad Pro is that same sheet of glass, but 3mm thicker with a band-aid in the center. Not much has changed, and Apple needs to realize in order to have rigidity, they have to sacrifice the weight and/or thickness of the iPad Pro. Either that or just make an entirely new metal, which is the most "Apple" thing to do in this scenario.
What about the speakers? Are they removable? Y’all keep going less in depth as time goes on.🥺 before you’d at least tell us if they’re removable or not
Wow, so it is still lacking a structure just like the 2018 model. Nothing more than a piece of tin foil wrapped around fragile internals with nothing to protect them, unacceptable for the price. I returned my 2018 model for that reason, I felt it was insulting to charge customers for something so cheaply made that can even come pre-bent from the factory.
Imagine they would use the space on the one side to put some more Aluminium into the iPad. The battery pack a bit more on that side and you have space in the middle but a bit of metal there and it will be more durable
I wish you guys would do a review of the different speaker technology from the gen 1 to gen 4 12.9 iPad Pro. My wife and kids all enjoy my older iPad pros as I upgrade with every new release my old devices get passed down to the kids. Having recently repaired my old gen 3 to give to my daughter I noticed how drastically different the speakers are from the gen 1 and gen 2 as the gen 3 and gen 4 actually have round speaker drivers that actually look like speakers compared to the square things in the gen 1 and gen 2 though the gen 1 and 2 have huge resonance chambers that were carved out of the back of the iPad capped with a sheet of plastic the gen 3 and 4 round drivers sit in the middle of a rectangle shaped plastic enclosure perhaps a style of all in one smaller resonance chamber? Regardless I love the way iPad pros sound and wish I could find tear down video comparing the different speaker technology strategies
Unfortunately my iPad got Bent, like a lot of other i Pad Pros too. The bending is about 1mm. Do you think it might damage the hardware like the battery or may the iPad easy endure this damage? The bending Starts at the usb c port and goes through to the other side. Thank you :)
what apple means by replacing your computer is replacing your meme machine but a 1000$ ipad. seriously. what can I even do besides art on this? for artists this is great but for others? can't even have a proper OS on this. no android studio or coding software either.
I'm curious to see how sturdy it is compared to the 2018 model, or even 2017 models. Is it still easily bendable, or have they somehow introduced structure strengthening into it?
Yes, I’ve been wondering I have looked around and around for replacement screen, digitizer kits, and a lot of them do not have that upper cable that zigzags across and connects to near the top of the logic board. What does a cable do? Because a lot of the replacements other than what I’ve seen in the picture you show at your website. Includes that zigzag cable at the top but most others do not. Could you help me out and let me know if I need to suspect that these others that don’t have the zigzag cable is not compatible? By the way, I forgot to mention that I have a 20 2012.9 inch With one terabyte of ram, but I really need to replace my screen now. Your website shows that it’s still backordered and I’m also looking to see if you might have an ETA for when they are due in and yes I have put my email into the reminder list to update me when it supposedly gets into stock.
Screen's connectors are faaaaar from 'impossible" to access... man you just need to rotate the device, there is simply a procedure you just don't know. What did you expect... 40cm long ribbons? What a biased channel... as long as it's an Apple product it will score no more than 3 no matter what but i don't see competitors doing alot more effort! step up your objectivity.
8.1 mm is manageable . Apple should release 8.1 mm thick iPad with more durability, repairablity(like iPhone), beautiful miniLED display, A14X, 16 GB LPDDR5 RAM, more battery, and final cut pro. Hoping for this to happen soon.
2:17 but, I notice something when I bought iPad Pro M2. FaceID not the same as on iPhones, FaceID on the iPad sensor is shorter than the iPhone to recognize my face 2:58 another thing bothering me, there's little space on the left they could have just add bigger battery but they don't
o lord I see there is space for another NAND Flash Thanks for this image , the motherboardis completely different!, so if we get error 4013 or some other nand related issue we going to change both NAND flash chips then ... ummm yeah no idea as yet how we going to get this right.. We screwed, its basicly going back to the days of ipads with 2 flash nands ish
I would have given it a 1. That convoluted garbage you have to go through just to access the display ribbon connectors is inexcusable, as is gluing the logic board on top of the battery connectors. It's sabatoge.
DUDES PLEASE ANSWER THIS QUICKLY IS COVERING ONLY SOME OF THE SPEAKER HOLES IS HARMFUL FOR IPAD PRO 11? MY TYPE C HUB COVERS SOME OF THEM AND I WANT TO KNOW IF THIS IS A BAD THING
Hi Just came across your video,. Do you think it is possible to remove the camera/lidar module (either in the IPAD pro or Iphone) and wire it up so that it can be used remotely from the device so that it could be used to access 'hard to reach' places by mounting the camera/lidar module in a new custom housing with the cable in some sort of conduit?
I'm curious as on the left side of the device there's empty space??? 🤔 They could've made the battery bigger with that amount of space. Can someone explain?
