I remember being shocked in 1999 by how good this movie was. Still holds up.

The mummy of 1999 is part of my childhood. Love it!

The first fact is incorrect based on interviews with Brennan Fraser. There is a seperate rope that is attached to a harness on his chest & waist that is fed through the hang rope that is supposed to hold Brennan's full weight during the hanging scene. Yes, Brennan did ask for the noose to be tighten to give a better illusion that he was choking. However, the rope attached to the harness broke and Brennan was in fact, "hanged" during that scene. Luckily, the way the rope broke prevented his neck from breaking immediately; however, the weight of his body on his neck did choke him out. There was significant damage done to his spine and spinal cord (along with really bad neck bruising that injured his vocal chords), but he powered through his injuries with pain killers and makeup. Unfortunately, the movie caused lifelong nerve pain YEARS after the movie aired, and eventually caused him to take a several year hiatus after the Mummy 2 was released to try and fix his neck and spinal injuries from that first movie.

Love Benny and his lines. He's not necessary evil, he's just an opportunist.. a nasty one..

I love this movie so much. This was a go to for sleepovers. Perfect summer film. They don’t make fun movies like this anymore

These movies (Mummy 1 / 2) were so well made, especially watching them as a kid. Brandon Frasier had his best times while making these movies, but it was sad he had to spend so much time in pain some years after. I am glad he came back again, all though in a completly new role. I would also have been emotional if life turned around from good to bad, and then years later got good again.

It's still one of my favorite flims of all time. I loved it as a kid and still enjoy it from time to time.

In the movie 'Die Hard' where Alan Rickman fell from the building, the look of sheer terror on his face was real. He was rigged with a wire and was supposed to be dropped on the count of three. They dropped him on the count of two.

I just watched this movie last week with my kids. They loved it. This is one of my favourite childhood movies

So this is why this movie moves me so much I just can't dislike this movie after watching several times, this movie had heart.

One of the best films of the 90s

Because of this movie, I have an interest in learning how to speak the language of Ancient Egypt. I learned some of it from this movie, and it’s sequel.

It,s still one of the best adventure movies ever made. I love it.

This is a masterpiece I keep saying this..oh man .it came to India in 2001 I think..watched it with my whole family in my local language telugu..What a wonder?my dad really appreciated the mummies slaying scenes in the last..It's spooky n adventurous thrilling n very much entertaining..Mummy returns was super good equally! Indeed I started to have a liking for Egypt from then! 😀

I love this movie so much it became my go to movie after work everyday. And when the second movie came out, that was added too - right after the first one is finished. Needless to say, I don't date - or rather I dated the whole cast of The Mummy! They just don't make movies like this anymore.

I knew about the first fact, but as for the rest of them, particularly working with the extras, that must’ve been quite a challenge. If you could do The Scorpion King in the future, you should talk about Dwayne Johnson’s movie debut.

I still have the mummy on DVD after buying it months ago again!!!!! Love it.....I don't think this film is corny it does its own thing and I love the cheesiness to it....gotta have that laughing moment just like for instance hatchet....horror movie but the adukt jokes were to throw us off the horror.......I like that in movies....saw the sec mummy first then loved it got it on DVD watched it multiple times then watched the first years later.....omg then loved them both!!!!!!!!! Never saw scorpion king and saw bits of tomb of the emperor.....very terrible!!!!!

1999 was such a good year between this and Final Fantasy VIII. Two of my childhood staples. Don’t make movies or games like they used to.

I knew some of these but wow props to the stunt guy for looking exactly like evey on that ladder.....compared to resident evil where Alice jumps from the ceiling....you can tell it's not her it looks pretty bad!!!!
