So y’all just gonna skip one of the funniest movies he made Monkeybone y’all just gonna skip that alright I mean to me that movie was hilarious but that’s just me alright cool
Brendan is so kind. He spent the entire interview applauding others and mentioning their achievements. This man is just incredible and I hope he knows how unbelievably loved he is.
He knows cuz y'all can't stop saying it. It's actually a bit insane. It's strengthening the idea that how England has its royals America has its stars. I think y'all would actually kow tow to them
I met Brendan when I was working as a deckhand on a local tour boat. I ran into him at an island buffet. He had taken a private boat to the island, and out of the hundreds of passengers I had serviced that day, he was the only one to ask me how my day was going. What a guy.
Brendan Fraser gives credit to everyone else, remembers everyone he worked with. He even remembers the elephant's name. The man is a national treasure.
Brendan and Keanu are two of the most humble celebrities ever. They seem so genuine and still have this child like excitement for their passion. Wish they would act in a buddy comedy together.
Variety did a great video where Adam Sandler interviewed Brendan. Hopefully we can get another one with Hollywood's most humble people. Keanu interviewing Brendan or the other way around. I love 'em both!
He must have said something logical or factual one time, causing Hollywood elites to cancel him for not being their slave and 24/7 news parrot. They were wrong, nobody forgot about the legend.
He's one of those rare actors that the entire internet will forever support, protect and cherish. He's endlessly humble and kind, very happy to see how everyone is towards him
This whole interview was about him, and all he could talk about was how good everyone else was. He’s such a good soul, I’m glad he’s finally getting the career he deserved
@ledgy69 He didn't have important roles for over a decade because he was blacklisted in Hollywood. He also used to get just comedy and blockbuster roles which tend to not be very well regarded for awards. This is the first time people are taking him seriously.
Brendan is such a good guy he can somehow explain how bad the CGI was for the Scorpion King without insulting the workers or the film itself. What a class act.
But I also like how he said the bad CGI was part of the charm. I agree with him. If The Mummy 2 was remastered with a more realistic, proper-looking Dwayne, people would complain that the magic is lost.
Corridor digital a great vfx RU-vid channel always says 9 times out of ten a bad cgi shot in a movie is due to time constraints but I also agree it’s adds a special charm to the movie
You can tell how much he identifies with his characters. He even had positive things to say about the CGI team for the scorpion king! What a class act.
@@Mazter1veteran Well he certainly identifies with walking out on his wife and kids for a young guy because he did that in 2007. That young guy has been missing since 2008. His parents in China would like closure.
Met him at a convention a few months back. Got his autograph and his assistants kept telling people to move along and not talk to him or ask him for a customized autograph. He listened to every person and customized every autograph if he was asked. He made eye contact with everyone and he was so appreciative of each person in line. Absolutely fantastic person.
@@Charge183IF they said that because he was extremely popular and they wanted to get through the line as quickly as possible, they got a cut of the autographs so they got paid more if he signed more stuff. But when he signed my George of the Jungle poster and wrote "java Java java" because I said it was me and sisters my favorite scene as a kid, he looked at me after, smiled and winked lol everytime he made an appearance he got massive cheers and he cried everytime. He definitely was not getting burned out.
It's awesome how much the internet loves Brendan Fraser. Dude just emits good vibes and makes you wanna smile. I'm glad he's back at it and making movies again. His range and talent are insane.
@@chava7263 Pretty sure he was nuked with a lot of emotions after being sexually assaulted by a movie guy(can't remember who it was), a divorce, and some health issues in between, would make anyone take a step back.
Brendan is such a beautifully thoughtful and articulate person. He expresses himself so genuinely, so effortlessly - it's like spending time with an old friend. If I ever get to meet the man himself, I could die happy.
Man, it is SO good to see Brendan so relaxed and animated. Considering all the crap he has been through, it;s nice to see his personality showing through again.
Came here to say this! Haven't seen him this relaxed and confident while talking in a while. He's definitely opening up and getting comfortable again, lovely to see.
This man was literally a pillar of my childhood. I had George of the Jungle and the 1st Mummy on repeat for YEARS. Glad he's getting the recognition he deserves!
Back in 2000 my 2 year old fell madly in love with George aka Brendan Fraser 😊. We had the VHS tape in the VCR and watch George of the jungle every single day almost all day long 😀. Brendan Fraser appeared on live with Regis and Kelly promoting the Mummy so of course I had it on the TV. I'm sitting in my chair watching the show Brendan was called out and my little almost 3 year old got star struck... Her little face turned beat red and she ran behind my chair as shy as can be. I think she thought he was in my living room. She was peeking around the chair because she didn't want him to see her 😀. I gotta say... It was probably the most innocent most adorable thing my child experienced at that age. As this was going on in my living room, I was on the phone with my sister so she was getting the full blunt of all that was going on. Everyone in my family knew that my sweet baby was going to marry this man 🤣. So with that my sister tried to reach the station while the show was on to get Brendan to do a shout out to my little darling, she probably would've fainted 😊, my sister was successful getting in touch with the station but couldn't get the message to the hosts fast enough🤷. Oh well, it would've been cute 🤗
The first Mummy film will always be a genuine classic. The amount of injuries and broken bones he suffered during the trilogy doing his own stunts is horrific. I'm so glad he's back and happy after the utterly gross way he was treated by Hollywood.
IF he suffered such "horrific" injuries, why is he so gung ho to do another one? And who were those guys on set wearing identical costumes? STUNTMEN! He has a long list of them and they know he's full of ****!
Brendan is one of those actors/celebs that really feels like a person, you know? He doesn't put on a face, he's just himself, and that's beautiful. No wonder everyone loves him so much, because he's unfathomably authentic in every way.
I can't overstate how much I missed Brendan Fraser. He's always been like this, and it's why he can play those "Babe in the woods" characters so effectively. He emits kindness as his natural rest state. And someone get a script and Rachel Weisz on the phone, let's do the Rick and Evie show one more time!
"The very place itself is an important character in the movie." I love that, such an insightful thing to say. The Mummy was hands down one of the best films of the 90s.
I actually got goosebumps when he talked about meeting everybody again for the Mummy returns, and talked so vividly about the guys he worked with the previous movie!
George of the jungle was my favorite movie as a kid and I was so little I didn’t even realize what a babe he is. Now I put it on just to admire his beauty. ❤
Despite the many hardships he’s had to go through, he’s still smiling and giving us his unabashedly honest opinions. Humble, funny, kind. I’m living for his comeback ❤️❤️❤️
@@sonnyvarioni1654 You either get up or you stay down. A LOT of people are forced to stay down because of the hardships they face. Don't glorify the hardships. Glorify the people. Brendan is amazing because of what he overcame, not because of the people who did it to him.
The best thing that’s happened in the last 10 years has been Brendan Fraser coming back into the spotlight. This dude is the upper echelon, top tier if you will, of humanity. Even after everything he’s been through, he’s still this kind and humble. I think I can speak for everyone when I say, WE LOVE YOU MAN!
Only with Brendan do you get a synopsis of the contributions of everyone when you're interviewing him, about him. I love his appreciation of the team and the collective effort that makes a film. He's a good guy, and absolutely deserves the fame. The absolute passion he has for everything he does and positivity he has. It’s just a joy just to watch an interview like this.
The fact that this video has 3.3 millions views in just two days just proves this man still have tons of fans that never forgot him. It's pretty easy to tell that when you're in situations like this, you did a great job
I agree. People knocked him for getting older. Like, seriously? The guy has nothing to prove and I love how kind and humble he seems. Everyone will grow old one day if they're lucky. Do so gracefully and enjoy life.
He could have just avoided commenting on the awful Scorpion King cgi, but he went out of his way to mention the cgi people were rushed to do it last minute, and he gave a convincing argument for keeping it if the film is ever remastered. Good dude.
He's Canadian, that's why. I say that with all due respect to the incredibly high moral standards of their country, wish the USA had more of his humility.
It warmed my heart so much when he, without any hesitation, said, “Absolutely,” when asked if he would ever want to return to The Mummy franchise. I was once just a little kid watching those films religiously on a little DVD player… they meant a lot to me. It would be incredible to see him reprise the role of O’Connell once more.
I agree! I was shocked when he mentioned there was a 3rd Mummy movie. But I agree with Brendan, without Rachel it's just not the same. The first two were such classics and they still hold up today because of the characters/actors, writing and comedy timing involved was **chefs kiss**
In HIS interview, he spent it talking up the other artists he worked with. I fell in love with him when I was a kid and I am in awe of him now. What a man.
Not only other people, but places, CGI, everything. And when he does mention himself, he does it in self-deprecating manner which he shouldnt do cause he is an awesome dude in every way :)
Even when talking about his OSCAR WINNING performance, he still prefers to elevate those around him. I just don't have the words for how wholesome this man is.
Brendan is so wildly genuine. The fact he was chewed up and spat out of Hollywood, and he's still this nice is a testament to what a good person he is. We as an audience are happy to see him back, and even more grateful that he seems happy too. 💚
It took him years to get another role because of him bringing up he was sexually assaulted. He had one voice acting job in 2014 and had no other until 2019. His ex took all his money and he was paying 900 thousand in child support.
To this day, Rick O'Connell remains the most lovable badass in an adventure film I have seen. The first 2 Mummy Films were perfection to me as a kid. And that still hasn't changed. And it just makes me happy that Brendan is happy with his life again. Forever may it continue.
Same! As much as I like Brendan… the third one was where the mummy franchise lost my attention. Not because of Brendan, but because of where it went… where the new director took it.
I swear Brendan is right up there with Keanu Reeves when it comes to actors you can’t help but love. Even if you tried to dislike him, or hate his movies, you just can’t not like the guy.
This is one of the best interviews I’ve ever seen. He speaks highly about everyone involved, his interpretation of the characters and scenes, and he is such a humble human being.
Watching Brandon Fraser’s comeback is truly a heartwarming experience… this man has done so much and I’m glad everyone is taking notice and appreciating
I still remember when i learned of Brendan's story with Hollywood. It hurts because i don't think there's many people more genuine, good and caring than Brendan Fraser, and i hope he gets the recognition he deserves. He's more than earned it. I grew up with the likes of George in the Jungle, the Mummy; Brendan Fraser is synonymous with my childhood. I really hope he gets the continued career he deserves. Love you man. :)
The fact that he describes the mummy as an action horror drama comedy really makes me happy. The mummy is one of my favorite films because I think it hits all those beats at different times. I think it can only be described as an adventure movie.
@@monkeytennis8861 the thing is that he is right: Tom Cruise rocks as an action star. That is like , pratically the only redeemable feature of that actor.
The way he handles this interview is unlike any other. Rather than his ego flaunting stories about when he worked on these films… It’s him talking about how amazing his costars, directors and locations were. The personal stories are more about what he learned. It’s honestly refreshing and encouraging. This man is too great.❤
I was just thinking the same thing. He is so humble, hardly talks about himself, and is so enthusiastic about about the characters, stories, and people involved in the films.
He is truly humble, and I think he is still a bit shocked he ever got a role... it seems he still feels a bit undeserving, which is so wrong. He did deserve all and more. So glad he is back on the scene.
A lot of actors do this. Chris Hemsworth does it ALL the time. Doesn’t make them inauthentic but it’s a common move. Makes you more likable to heap praise on others.
Personal favourite is when he was defending and buttering up his CGI crew on the Mummy despite the CGI wasn't being good. Other celebs would have used that to make fun of the CGI team and chastises them for not doing a good job. He instead sympathise with them and argued that the cartoonish CGI is part of the charm of the film which what makes it so special to begin with. I just love when celebrities acknowledge the effort that goes behind the CGI.
By God, there’s no word in the English language how excited I am to see this legend make a much deserved comeback! He’s been one of my favorite actors since I was a kid. Airheads, George of the Jungle, The Mummy and Journey to the Center of the Earth were my favorite movies of his when I was a kid!
The absolute humanity of Brendan Fraser is deeply moving. He lauds the creations of others, he shows true interest in his performances, the complete heartfelt nature of his honesty, it warms the heart truly.
Yet just by the start of this video you are proven wrong. How can one act in a movie have a main role yet still fail to realize what the movie is about and what genre is it suppose to be ... It's a fantasy-adventure-comedy, how hard is it to realize that ... If he is so interested and invested into something how TF does he not know wtf is the movie he PLAY A MAIN ROLE IN ?!!!! So yeah, think again what he actually is.
I hope Brendan knows how much we all have missed him, love him, and are all ecstatic that he’s back. He was a huge part of the childhood of an entire generation & will be immortal because of it. Thank you, Brendan. It’s wonderful to have you back.
I had the honor of meeting Brendan once at a cosplay contest. He is as kind as he appears here. Very sweet. Even asked for MY photo! He took time to speak to all of us cosplayers, always gave compliments, and introduced himself. So humble and courteous. Beyond a gentleman. He is a priceless treasure.
This man is perfection. He is so incredibly well-spoken. You can tell he truly means everything he says and he chooses his words so carefully. I love how supportive he is of his castmates and how he speaks so fondly of them.
I’m so glad Brendan is now getting the love he deserves. The Mummy films and George of the Jungle were massive parts of my childhood, and looking back, it was all Brendan. He made those movies really fun with his screen presence and comedy. The Whale just proves the man is a wonderful actor, and despite everything he’s gone through, he remains uncommonly kind and funny. I’m front row for the Brenaissance.
Saaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaame!!! I rarely go a month without wanting to watch The Mummy. He has a natural chemistry with almost every single actor/actress he worked with. It's not a common gift in an actor.
This man needs to know how much he means to us. Definitely honored being raised to his movies. The Mummy Trilogy, George of The Jungle, Journey to the center, and even looney tunes! Such a legend
Brendan goes so much further in depth about the process of film making and his appreciation of his coworkers than most of the celebrities I've seen do these interviews. His appreciation for his job and the people surrounding him really shines through...
I caught it late one night on tv years ago but I only started watching at the drug lord beginning scenes 😂 Needless to say I was slightly confused but It was great no matter where you start watching it it turns out.
Brendan Fraser made The Mummy films really stand out. Nobody could have done his role better. A perfect choice to be honest. I hope his comeback really allows him to shine again
I’m so happy to see him making a comeback. He’s always been a great actor, and he’s always been generous with the praise of his costars, and it’s nice to see that hasn’t changed.
I really hope Brendan Fraser reads the comments on this video. He mentioned that he wasn’t aware so many people were super excited to see him return and how much love and support his fans have for him. He’s such a humble, talented man. He really embodies what an actor should be.
Brendan calling himself the least funny person and then proceeding to make me smile and giggle for most of the interview just like he did in his movies when I was a kid. Love him. 🥺❤️
When they asked him if he would return to The Mummy franchise and he gave a resounding yes and then asked " Do you have a script" my heart jumped for joy! I felt like a kid again going to see one of the greatest summer block busters!! Someone please get this man a script for The Mummy 4!!!
Yes please! I honestly think he's going to get nominated for an oscar/Emmy for The Whale....movie looks good already and he only said 5 things in the trailer
He always talks with such passion that makes me want to cry. He really loves his craft, if he didn't he would've had retired years ago, but instead he soldiered on no what what. Now the pay off came, and if there's a guy that deserved it, it's him. I'm almost sure thats gonna be a documentary about his second coming, it's the perfect comeback story.
I love how he mentions himself not being funny. Yet, his corky upbeat humor had me smiling the entire video. This guy has no earthly idea the impact he has made on so many people. I wish I could get a chance to have a simple conversation. And instead of him praising others and thanking others for opportunities and experiences, and rather let him know how incredibly thankful people are for what he’s done and continues to do. Thank you!! You’ve truly helped shape the lives of so many people.
Did you ever got the chance of watching a DVD ou Bluray copy of the Mummy? The best part is his audio commentary track. Think about a 2hrs version of this video, but focus on the Mummy. Its AWESOME.
My father was part of the crew working on the third mummy movie and he always praised Brendan Fraser and how down-to-earth he was. He's really happy to see him again on screen❤
He was such a outwardly beautiful youth, but I think we’ve discovered that Brendan Fraser is just an all around beautiful man, inside and out. So kind and generous to everyone he’s worked with. Not just costars, but suit actors, SFX, makeup and costumes. You can tell he just loved the art of movies!
I too have grown up watching Brendan Fraser, I only just now really appreciate what an amazing actor he has always been. He has the kindest, softest eyes that shine out his lovely humble nature. I want to go back and watch the movies again........
He's a national treasure. He spoke so much about the people he worked with and you can tell he appreciates every moment he had with the cast and crew on every film.
The fact he can still intricately remember so many details and feelings about the films he's been in, and just how much he gives credit to others over himself, really shows how great of an actor and person Brendan is. I will never get tired of seeing this man win whenever he can.
@@darth420vader Some actors don't even remember the co-stars they share a screen with. They just say the lines and move on. Gwyneth Paltrow surprised Sabastian Stan by not remembering him at all.
Brendan Fraser feels like an adult child, but like, not in the immature 'man-baby' way, like, he just has this sort of child-like innocence, and it always makes me smile. i know he has all sort of struggles, but i always hope he's doing okay, because i feel like he deserves to be happy.
Brendan is a great actor. He is absolutely loveable. He was heartbreakingly gorgeous. He is so big hearted, humble, and amazingly talented. Love, love, love Brendan.
With every movie Brendan Frasier thanks his castmates and praises how much they elevated the script, the performances and his acting...what a humble and kind man truly.
he praises his castmates and production, but IMO, it's really what Brendan Fraiser brings to the film that reflects on other actors and gives them more to act with.
This man gives credit to the actors in animal suits, he remembers all the important details, there's no ego to this guy, it's all just love for what we does. No matter what you're doing and in what industry, Brendan Fraser's a role model for how to be as a person.
@Brendan Fraser vs The Truth You really sound like someone who would go out of their way to cause bodily harm to him because of this weird one-sided feud you have going on.
@@homelander746 I cannot imagine putting that much energy into hating someone. Feel like him and my mother would have gotten along in their ability to obsess so intensely.
I’m borderline ashamed that I’d no clue Brendan was such a consummate, highly trained actor let alone radiant, passionate and genuine. Imagine sharing a meal with Brendan Fraser and Keanu Reeves.
Man I'd be flabbergasted if I sat at or just bore witness to that table. I don't think my usual levels of cynicism could repel wholesomeness of that magnitude. (organic/natural wholesomeness if not a forced encounterI guess)
The interview was about him and he nonstop talking about everyone else but him. I love all of his movies and how sensational he was I those movies. His voice, his funny character, his action character, his amazing acting, it's just an absolute delight for us his fans to watch.
He's looking and sounding much better than few years ago when he came out of hiding. Nice to see, Brendan was a big part of our childhood and teenage years with his awesome flicks, legend.
Lots of his movies accompanied me throughout my childhood and teenage years even my young adulthood and have always been very entertaining, he seems to know that a movie, above all, entertains and leaves a very nice taste in your mouth when you finish it
why even go there man? Couldnt just say something nice like "hes looking pretty good". had to go with the backhanded compliment? smh, I guess your comment could have been worse.
Brendan's demeanor reminds me of a quote, "Humility isn't thinking less of yourself, it's thinking of yourself less.". Brendan perfectly embodies this quote the way he sings praises of his coworkers without hesitation. I love this guy so much
And just when you think Brendan Fraser couldn't get any greater, he does a spot on John Cleese impression... Priceless! This guy is just so sweet, so genuine... We need more people like Brendan Fraser...
When he did Cleese-laugh I laughed out loud, and then rewatched it several times. Brendan steals my heart over and over again. Incredibly touching and funny interview.
Time & time again in so many interviews you’ll hear Brendan praise the talents of his co-workers & fellow actors, often crediting many with his own opportunity to be able to perform well in any given movie. It’s so refreshingly earnest & it comes across as Brendan’s genuine desire to always acknowledge those around him & how he’s grateful for everyone. Much respect 🙌
How did we lose this gem of a man for so many years? His commitment to the character is impeccable. The way he remembers such specific details of the character’s personalities, regardless of how developed they were or not, says so much about the care he took to prepare for each role. I’m so glad he’s back, and that he’s stronger by the minute. Much love, Brendan.
Brendan is the reason why The Mummy and The Mummy Returns are two of my all-time favorite films. So glad he's bouncing back in a big way, if there's anyone who deserves this kind of love and attention it's him.
I'll die on the hill that the first Mummy is one of the most underrated movies of all time. Action adventure, horror, comedy, and they hit every point perfectly. Such a great movie.
What struck me while watching this is how warmly he speaks of his peers, and the genuine appreciation he has for them and for being involved. The man is a class act, I’m excited to see him working again and hope we get to see more of him!
I think we should put him and Keanu Reeves in a room and have a Nice-Off, no winner, just heartwarming goodness for a change. I don't understand why being a decent person is so rare but here we are.
What I love about Brendan is that when he speaks about his iconic roles he recognizes that the movies themselves are lighthearted entertainment. However, he has such reverence for the moviemaking process and gives 120% to each and every role.
George of the Jungle was my little brother’s favorite movie. After he died, whenever I miss him too much I put it on and laugh because it’s hilarious and I can still hear him laugh at his favorite parts. I miss you Josh, thank you Mr. Fraser for all the laughs. Loved everything you’ve done and can’t wait for your future roles.
Yes. He helped make so many happy family memories. I lost my dad, who loved The Mummy series. We watched it together sooooo many times. Especially the second one, where the kid goes missing. My parents would react like I was missing. And I was soo happy watching that the first time. As if my mom dad and uncle were in adventure to rescue me. I was almost the kid's age. My dad and uncle both passed away within six months last year. Now all me and my mom have are the extremely good memories. We both laugh and cry while watching the movie.
So refreshing to see someone who isn't consumed by ego and narcissism speak about his journey through life. You can see how empathetic he is, kind, reflective, personal and has such strong resilience and depth of character.
@Fraser, The Big Fat Fraud Do you see yourself? Really, please take a long hard look in the mirror, and ask yourself: "What am I doing? Why am I doing all this? I'm better than this." Move on. You're making a fool of yourself, and it's not doing a bit of good in the world. Do better. Good luck.

I'm 40 now and grew up partially with his movies. Now I watch Encino Man and The Mummy with my 6 year old daughter. She LOVES The Mummy since I had already introduced her to Ancient Egypt. This man deserves all of the fame and comfort that he has recently received. Gods bless you, Brendan Fraser.
It seems like Brendan's life has been quite difficult at times, and yet he still spoke about his past experiences with so much gratitude and humility. We are fortunate to have him. I hope he sees some of these kind comments on this video and knows how much we appreciate him and are rooting for him!
Brendan Fraser was such a massive part of my childhood. The first mummy movie is almost imprinted in my brain. I grew up on that movie. Thank you for everything you have ever done Brendan, for real. You are a huge part of a lot of peoples memories and lives!:)
His voice is somehow so rich with emotions, so vulnerable als if he has his heart in his mouth while he's speaking. I sometimes got a little teary-eyed when he talked so full of excitment, so positiviely about others and all the things he loves and respects. So honest and pure. I can only assume all this though :P since I don't know him but to me it really feels this way while listening and watching this video.
I just want to step back and admire how kind, compassionate, thoughtful, and praising this man is of his peers, and how genuine and authentic he comes across, with no ego. I’m glad he’s getting to have another moment, it seems few deserve it more than he.
His decision to speak to and boast about supporting characters through this whole piece really speaks to his character. This segment is about *him* and *his career* and he chooses to expound upon how impactful the people around him (especially those normally not featured - like the suit actors in George of the Jungle) is so impressive to see. What a beautiful and humble professional.
