First things first, im not a Miata enthusiast (BMW e90 M3 owner here). I 100% agree with you on the NC1 Miata. Overall it feels a bit dead, the engine sucks and its heavier than the previous gen however, that NC2 has the best engine of all them. The redline is at 7200 rpm but fuel cut off is at 7700 rpm (if you get the manual) so you're going 500 rpm into the redline every time you shift on a backroad. Not to mention its a Mazda so you're not worrying about it spinning a bearing every time you're over 7k (all my m3 owners out there do you feel the same?). But the engine isn't the only thing that makes this the best Miata IMO. The NC shares its suspension with the RX-8 so, unlike every other generation of Miata this one is actually buttoned down and the suspension dosent bottom out every time you chuck it into a corner. The steering is another area where Mazda knocked it out of the park. You get great steering feel all the time, even on center and if you want modern features with great steering, this is the only option. The ND's steering is dead compared to the NC (i know i just said dead but the ND has great steering for EPAS but its never gonna beat a hydraulic rack). Anyway, I just realized how long this comment got but great vid as always Mark, just wanted to go over some of the differences cause this mid-cycle refresh completely changes this car. Thanks

Hello! I own a Solstice GXP, 2008. You said people don't really like these but, there's not been a place I've gone that someone didn't comment as to how much they like it and how nice it looks. I've had it for 2 years and it was beautiful. Until, WTH, it was spray painted all over while parked at my house. The estimate to repaint, $7500. My insurance company totaled it. I've had lot of cars and had lots of problems and repairs but, all problems with my Solstice were caused by a deer or human hands. For it's age, it is the least problematic, mechanically, of any car I have ever owned. And, it is, absolutely, the most fun to drive. If someone had just understood that my car didn't belong to them to do to as they please. Purchase one and spray paint to your heart's content. Personally, you left mine a disaster. Which you should be paying to have repainted along with the forever increase in my car insurance I'm sure will be coming fairly soon. The rest of you, drive a Solstice, I bet you'll love it!!!💜

I have a Saab 93 viggen convertible got it for 5K and it’s one of the best cars I’ve ever driven. You’re right when you say Saab knows how to make a good convertible.

If you ever had to work on an BMW E35 you know why you can find them for 3k. $900 in labor to repair pump gaskets and over engineering is not even the word. They did things just to be difficult.

Hey Mark, I've been subscribed to your channel for a while to listen to car listings and compare my car (a 2006 Toyota Solara V6 SLE convertible) to them, and I'm pissed. The car has good handling (for its size), great reliability, 225 horsepower, sleek and sporty looks, a shiftable automatic, plenty of space, and a 0-60 time of 6.9 sec. However, nobody does it the courtesy of considering it a sporty car, and I've only seen one video that actually goes somewhat deep into the mechanical performance of the car. I hoped you could be different and at least mention it, but no. Please correct this mistake by making a deep dive video on the toyota solara right away. I need someone to take my arguments into consideration and I will spam this comment until you make this video.
