I have been in the firewood business for.50 years. I sell my wood for $50 a face cord. It takes me $30 to process a face cord of wood . That includes cutting, getting it to the wood lot, and delivering. It to the customer. I sell mixed hardwoods. I measure and mark each stick at 16 inches. I advertise on Marketplace.

Hey kids! It may start as fooling around with a chainsaw and cutting up a few wind-blown trees for some camping firewood. But before you know it, you've got a woodpile, and then start buying a firewood processor and small skid steer to help move the load. You start dealing to friends and families. And before you know it, you've got a semi, a woodyard and full on business and talking about dealing in cords. It's a drug guys - be careful out there

I'd like to know how much ash the kilns generate, and how you handle it and what's done with it. At 30:24, you can really tell how dry that wood is by the sound. Lastly, I'm glad you showed how the walking floor worked, because from the verbal description, I was still unclear. That's really cool how it works.

We used to load firewood into tractors with dump trailers that didn't want to go back to NYC empty. They would bring steel up to the plants upstate, but those trailers weren't that big, we only got about 5 cords on them. We loaded by hand with a hay elevator! Of course that was over 40 years ago.

Keith industries has been manufacturing walking floor trailers since the mid 1950's. In the 70s and the 80s we used keiths walking for trailers to haul firewood in the California Central valley when we would clear out the almond and walnut orchards. So it is not a new concept in firewood transport. Unload was quick and easy. Keep up the great videos. God bless.
