As a guy who used to work in Tesco managers do not care too much about robberies and usually won't bother chasing them up because 90% of the stuff on display is usually cheaper items and usually what we members of staff are told to do for some higher value items that have clearly been stolen if we see the packaging left over of any electrical item or Ink cartridges and DVD's and so on is to get the packaging and put it in a special box in the back of the store and there is a person who works in the store and deals with the money and profits for the store as well as sort out wages for employees and so on will go through the box and minus these stolen items from the profits when they are reporting profits to the higher up bosses of the company ALSO for for stuff like games consoles and physical game discs they usually have them at the back in the warehouse portion of the store which is usually in its OWN room in the warehouse and that own room is locked and only select members of staff have access to these also a thing they do with game discs is they have empty game disc cases on display which on the label say take me to the checkout to receive the item.

Answering for 1:30 I worked in retail security n there was Hella petty crime, What you'd have is (depending on the shop) 2-3 security on shift, One would be patrolling, one would be near the shop entrance and the other would be either at a security desk in the back, switching with the other 2 security for when they go on breaks or change roles and so on. If someone's seen stealing or anything like that, Someone would go investigate immediately, If they get caught on the spot they're searched for all stolen goods, If it's not a very valuable haul of items they'll be given a ban and let go or they'll be let go with details being passed onto fed, If it is an expensive haul however (Some places are £100+ some are £200+) fed gets called, they get searched, potentially arrested or get a police escort away from the premises with a permanent ban and can be arrested, detained or escorted off if they're seen there again. I don't work security anymore tho which is shit coz it was kinda fun but mental health n that took. A toll on me. Edit: forgot to mention all security camera recordings get logged when incidents happen, They'll usually be marked like "06/11/21 Electronic Theft - John Smith" A constant record of everything is kept in this format, Whether the person is caught red-handed or the recording backs up claims.
