Awesome video! This floorplan is ingenious, having a lowered, open concept floor in a small boat seems ideal for multiple people! Excellent explanation and execution, well done!
great job.... my one bit of advice, stagger the rear seat to the left side of the boat. this will make it much easier to run your gas/trolling motor from that rear seat.
@@timothyclingerman5430 The seat is shifted to the right, for that reason. I shifted out enough to balance the weight from the outboard motor and trolling motor.
The reason it’s a law to have foam in small boats is so they won’t sink when they take on water in bad weather. Being able to stay with the boat can save peoples lives till they are rescued. The boat can also be saved.
I love your boat renovation! I have a 71, 14’ aluminum Sea Star that I’m working on. I really like the seat pedestals that you mounted your swivel seats to! Can you tell me the model and where you picked them up? I would love to mount my battery and gas tank in the bow, similar to what you have. I’m not too sure on the bus connections that you have and how that all works. Electrical is definitely not my thing. Can you tell me where you got your battery housing, that has the posts on the outside of it? Sorry if this is to long, I’m just getting started here! Tight lines, Jim
I have a 12ft aluminum 1962 mirrocraft that looks almost exactly like this interior. I'd love to do something very similar. Question, with the rear seat mounted in the center do you find it difficult to steer or control the hand tiller of your outboard?
It’s been a while, but I think I used 3/8” plywood. It was supported everywhere by the flotation foam, so I didn’t need thicker plywood. It was very solid. I reinforced it under the seats.
I got them on Amazon. Not sure if this is the exact one, but it was similar (I thought they were a little cheaper than this - maybe the price went up). www.amazon.com/Wise-8WD1500-Adjustable-Bell-Pedestal/dp/B004WIRHOS/ref=sr_1_8?dchild=1&keywords=boat+seat+pedestal&qid=1621473550&sr=8-8
The rod rack is a disaster waiting to happen. Five years from now this'll be a mould ridden, saturated heap of rotted plywood in a destroyed tinny. Classifieds are filled with 'em!
It’s really stable. I think it’s a little more stable than it was with the bench seats. It’ll get more extensive use on our Minnesota trip, but so far, it’s been great.
