I’ve only seen one other video on this slug. They too and myself were a little disappointed in its performance. They did shoot into a motorcycle engine block and it did blow it up to pieces. I have approximately a few hundred rounds of this slug . I also shoot it through a Remington 870 police special. On the range I shoot at we do have a couple of cars that we use for tactical practicing. I will try the slug on a engine block this spring. Too muddy to get out there now. Can’t wait to see the performance on a V-8 Engine block. Watched your live stream last night with Alaskan ballistics. Good show Greg. Stay safe my friend.

I was totally surprised by the results. FWIW, the 1 oz Powershok Federal is devastating on deer.....but not on fir planks. Thanks for well thought out test.

Your correct it doesn't go deep. But 12 gage slug is like 72 caliber. Diameter plus speed = Penetration...... If you had a 300 Weatherby 220 grain and shot this target. It might go through all the boards.

*FOR SLUG PENETRATION OF WOOD ... FLAT NOSE STEEL SLUGS work very well... And the FLAT NOSE non-expanding steel slugs tend to NOT deviate from flight path when shooting through small trees. HOG and BEAR hunters in Latvia and Lithuania prefer the flat nose steel slugs for wooded area hunts.*

The SF slugs are garbag as they do not seal well against water and have high potential for failure. Just use the Black Magic, they're essentially the same. Amd it's pronounced Bren-uh-kee not Brenick, fyi

12 gage is way more affective on bear vs 10mm. All the sheriff departments use the 12 gage for bear. It drops a bear dead in its tracks. It's obvious you do t go hunting. Or have shot a lot. Definitely don't understand foot pounds of energy.

Nope I have tested other slugs with the same effect. They don't penetrate well. Wide diameter and slow velocity.

@@NYPrepper "they don't penetrate well in wood" would be a more accurate statement. As well they shouldn't because they're not designed to. Wood will favor small diameter high speed projectiles more so that most materials. As an extreme comparison a .223/.5.56 55gr fmj will out penetrate a hard cast .44 magnum in wood in my experience. But not so in flesh. I've tested Brennneke (pronounced bren-uh-kuh) in many different mediums over the years. And while I haven't had the greatest results with the special forces slugs(mostly accuracy) they will by far out penetrate most handgun rounds in gel or even meat(stretch wrapped hams) breaking bones and pushing straight through. I've settled on green lightning slugs for most used and never recovered a single one from several deer shot at varying distances/angles and of varying sizes. The only slug I've ever seen outperform them is the now discontinued lightfield buck/boar/bear slugs which I have 21 boxes of and dread the day they're gone! Great video though! I hope to see you test it in other mediums....👍

Brenneke slugs are very vulnerable to moisture getting into the powder which is why everyone in Alaska seals their roll crimp with hot glue or beeswax. The fact that these slugs didn't recoil that bad means something is wrong. These slug have insane recoil even in heavy shotguns.

Its not for shooting wood really. And your comparing apples to oranges with comparing pistol rounds to this huge flat faced slug. Id love to see you compare the 44mag or 10mm hard nose, and this slug against a car or metal, what its for. Thanks for the vid, but just my 2 cents. Your review may make people think poorly of it, but wasnt used as made for and poorly compared so I take this with a grain of salt as should others.
