The first two songs that pop into my mind are "'39" by Queen (Brain May vocal) and "Texarkana" by REM (Mike Mills vocal). Those are actually two of my favorite songs by both of those bands.

Even though they had two lead vocalists in Steve Perry & Greg Rolie , Neil Schon took a turn as lead vocalist on People & Places by Journey in 1980.

"December, 1963 (Oh, What a Night)" by The Four Seasons - sung by drummer Gerry Polci. "I Can't Tell You Why" by The Eagles - sung by bassist Timothy B. Schmidt. "Someone Tonight" by REO Speedwagon -sung by bassist Bruce Hall. "These Dreams" and "Alone" by Heart - sung by guitarist Nancy Wilson.

My favourite Blur song Coffee And TV sung by Graham Coxon the Guitarist.

Jimmy Marinos, the drummer of "The Romantics" sings lead on their most popular song, "What I Like About You", even though Wally Palmer(Rhythm Guitar, Harmonica), sings lead probably 85-90% of the time.

Peter Buck sings lead on my favorite REM song, Near Wild Heavan. Other great Kinks songs on which Dave sang the lead are I'm Not Lke Everybody Else, and Love Me Till The Son Shines.

I at least knew "Going Up the Country" so I hope to get at least half a point. For me, the most remarkable cameo singer appearance may be Greg Lake's beautiful and powerful booster rocket he added to Pete Sinfield's anthemic "Still".

I learned from Iommi’s book that in the very early pre-Sabbath days, Bill Ward was the main singer in the band they had at that time. ✨Ghanks for this list, a lot I know and ones I’d like to check out😃. Ghanks😃

"Sister Christian" by Night Ranger. Jack Blades sang most of their lead vocals but their drummer Kelly Keagy sang lead vocals on this track.

The one song that springs to mind is Cold Day in The Sun by the Foo Fighters, sung by drummer Taylor Hawkins (R.I.P.). I also love Going Up the Country by Canned Heat. Your short performance of the song in the video was pretty good too 😆👍xxxx.

First songs I thought of in this vein: Miss America - Styx (James Young) Fight from the Inside - Queen (Roger Taylor) Blues for Meister - Red Hot Chili Peppers (Flea) Starrider - Foreigner (Mick Jones) Settle Down My Boy - Men at Work (Ron Strykert) Where Blue Oyster Cult is concerned, the only band member who didn’t get many lead vocals was Allen Lanier. Actually now that I think about it, “True Confessions” might have been Lanier’s only lead vocal for the band.

"Strangers" is my favorite Kinks song.

I love it when the drummer from The Warning, Paulina Villarreal, takes over the lead vocals on a few songs. My favorite is "Revenant".

I thought Kevin Godley did plenty of vocals. I immediately thought of Ooh La La by The Faces, with Ronnie Wood on vocals rather than Rod.

I know you’re not an eagles fan, but my hubby & I danced our first dance as H&W to “love will keep us alive”. Their bassist, Timothy B.Schmit, sang lead on it. 😊

I have always liked John Entwistle’s “My Wife.”

Not many people realize this but all of 38 Special's biggest hits were not sung by the band's lead singer. Don Barnes sang lead on all their hits but Donnie Van Zant was the actual lead singer for the band.

I first thought of Mott the Hoople. Instead of Ian Hunter, Overend Watts did a great rocker "Born Late 58". Then I thought - Verden Allen did "Soft Ground" and "Second Love". Then, the head slap moment - all the Mick Ralph vocal tracks on earlier albums. "Darkness Darkness", "Thunderbuck Ram" and the more country-fied tracks on Wildlife.

For a Manzarek lead song recorded while Morrison was still around try Close to You. It appears on Absolutely Live and another live album that I forget. Entwistle's Trick of the Light and the Quiet One are good rockers. I pronounce 'Davies' as 'Davis' because that's how they pronounce it. It's their name so...

There's a couple of decent singers on an up and coming new band called the Beatles Larry that don't usually sing named George Harrison and Ringo Starr,they're actually pretty good,they'll never replace the two main singers John Lennon and Paul McCartney but they're not bad and should maybe do a few more songs,check them out! Bob

here's some I can think of-Ramblin' Man-Allman Bros., Medicine Jar-Wings, 39- Queen, The Song Is over -The Who , Yellow Submarine -Beatle, Hang Fire-Stones, Take It to the Limit -Eagles, Nantucket Sleighride- Mountain , O What a Night -4 Seasons, Make Me s Smile- Chicago- dpends on who was really considered lead singer of them.

We're an American Band, Don Brewer. Big hit for GFR.

On some early Sweet tracks, Steve Priest took lead instead of Brian Connelly. "No You Don't" was one, I believe.

Buck Dharma sang lead on lots of great BÖC songs. "I Love the Night" is great, and so are "In Thee" (from Mirrors) and "Golden Age of Leather", which is also from Spectres. Another song that I love that fits your list is the underappreciated Beach Boys song "Sail on Sailor", featuring lead vocals by a non-member, Blondie Chaplin. I agree with your choice of "Black Diamond", because it was a concert staple for them during the group's whole career, but Peter's "Hard Luck Woman" should at least get an honorable mention though.

Mike Mills does a great job with lead vocals on REM’s Superman. Andy Hummel on ‘India Song’ for Big Star. Also Joe Butler has a good lead vocal on ‘Never Goin’ Back’ by The Lovin’ Spoonful.

Keef is probably not for everyone but his voice and style are really unique. And where it works, it works. Songs to add? Blue Sky by the Allman Brothers sung by Dickey Betts. Bookends from Joe Walshs album The Smoker You Drink, the Player You Get, sung by drummer Joe Vitali.

3 songs that come to mind for me are 39 by Queen, Starrider by Foreigner and With a little help from my friends by the Beatles.

Oasis - Don't Look Back in Anger

"Fast or Slow" by the Pretenders. Written and sung by drummer Martin Chambers. The only Pretenders song not sung by Chrissie Hynde.

I have 3 more to add Billabong Valley by King Gizzard. Stu Mackenzie is usually the vocalist, but Ambrose Kenny Smith takes the lead on this song. He has several songs and co writes with them, but I think he is very underrated and my favorite member. I Saw Gener Cryin’ in His Sleep by Ween. Gene Ween is the makn singer, but the anazing guitarist Dean Ween takes the mic. Lastly, this song is from a band you’ve probably never heard of, but the song is called Shopping Mall of Love and it’s by a band called Sparks. Instead of Russell Mael singing, it features the keyboardist Ron Mael rapping for most of the song. Fun listen for sure.

For U2, Edge took the vocals for Seconds, and of course, Numb.

This is a good list. There were some other great Who songs sung by Pete Townshend, too. "Sunrise" (on The Who Sell Out), "Going Mobile," "I'm One," and "Blue, Red and Grey." Also, on Hackney Diamonds, Keith Richards sings a fine song, called "Tell Me Straight."

I thought Doors "Other Voices" was a decent album. The next and last one Full Circle was awful.
