Ritchie Valens. His next 2 albums were pieced together albums. (Demos etc.) That one album was so influential.

The Shaggs reminds me of music lessons at school. When you went out to use the bog and walked back in to the room, that cacophony of noise made by a bunch of people on separate tables all doing their own music at the same time. I hope you're good Larry.

Chris Bell - I Am the Cosmos - The only solo album from the founder of Big Star, released more than a decade after his passing. Fortheringay - Fotheringay - Sandy Denny’s short-lived band following her stint with Fairport Convention. Buick MacKane - The Pawn Shop Years - Great rocking album featuring Alejandro Escovedo, better known for his solo work and his time with The Nuns. I also rank the Monks album very highly. I would have listed it if you hadn’t already done so.

The Rutles' Archaeology is superb, every bit as good and clever as the first album. Eric Idle wasn't involved, but then he wasn't really involved in the first album either. So that is definitely a true second Rutles album.

The album Dennis Wilson was working on was called Bambu. I've heard it, and it's good.

"Philosophy of the World" is pure avant garde!!! And it's at least better than John Lennon's Wedding Album...

I have the album "St. Cecilia: The Elektra Recordings" from the Stalk-Forrest Group and it is really a great one. This leads me to the only official solo album from Buck Dharma called "Flat out", before it is too late. There will be a new one coming out this year, maybe. By the way, i saw your comment on the new video from Buck!! P.S. Your new live chat time is not the best for us europeans, because it is round midnight. It is quite alright, but more later it will be worst. So maybe we will meet us on sunday!

I seriously do enjoy the FFS, since I was a fan of Franz Ferdinand for at least 5 to 6 years before I even heard of Sparks! But then again, Sparks is my second favorite band, while FF isn't in the top 10, but maybe in the top 20!

Appreciate the United States of America shout out ;) loved hearing your first impression of that. Your inclusion of the Rutles reminds me of Ricky Fataar's (aka Stig O'Hara) sole album with The Flame, produced by Carl Wilson just before Ricky and Blondie left to join the Beach Boys for a few years. I ought to request a track on Patreon sometime, some great stuff

There are a couple groups not mentioned in your intro. One of them was GTR, featuring Steve Hackett and Steve Howe, who released one studio album together in 1986. They had a hit single, "When the Heart Rules the Mind", and it sounds about like you'd expect: theatrical prog-rock combined with '80s pop and arena rock. The other band is Attila, which was a two-person band from NYC featuring Jonathan Small and a keyboardist you might've heard of, named William Joel. Critics said their album was among the worst ever produced.

Alan White Ramshackled from 1976 is also a Yes solo album that seem to be the one and only. The first Renaissance album from 1969 is like their only album since the next Renaissance albums didn't include any original members. Lauryn Hill/Fugees is basically the only hip hop I've ever cared for. Caramba from 1981 is their only album although band members Tretow & Gärdestad are far from one album wonders. Halfnelson was a band with one album until they became Sparks :) Matheus Musikk Fra Balders Hage from 1974 is a one album only, prog and folk rock, and there's not much other things to find from each band member of Matheus either. Chris Montan Any Minute Now from 1980 is his only album, a nice soft album. Reale Accademia Di Musica from 1972 was basically the only album, prog rock, although decades later more came under that name. Keats from 1984 is the only album although it is related to Alan Parsons project. Freudiana from 1990 is also a one album also related to Alan Parsons project. Fantasia from 1975 is basically one album by finish prog rock band. Lou from 1976 is a japanese one album only, soft rock, ルウ Actually the only album of all of those that I have not got is Halfnelson shame on me but I do have several Sparks albums :)

Family Style - Vaughan Brothers is the only album collaboration between Jimmie and Stevie Ray Vaughan - worth a listen - not traditional Stevie Ray or traditional Jimmie Vaughn. I have it and used to listen to it a lot. Dylan and the Dead - is not worth getting. I have it and try to listen to it every now and then. I like Dylan backed by the Dead but the song choice is not my favorite. I have Dennis Wilson's rerelease of Pacific Ocean Blue. The last song on the first disc, Holy Man, has Taylor Hawkins on vocals. He sounds spookily like Dennis. Overall the CD set is worth purchasing. It has that Beach Boys sound in a lot of places (go figure why). Great summer music for sure. One album that has a star studded cast not worth getting is John Phillips - Pay, Pack and Follow. You know Phillips from the Mamas and the Papas. This recording features Keith Richards (yes hard drugs were involved - and the whole release was shelved), Ronnie Wood, Mick Jagger, and Mick Taylor. They don't all play on the same songs. Don't get it. Maybe listen to it for free somewhere. It was rereleased with extra tracks and remixed in 2001(?) as Pussycat. It is much better in this incarnation. If you can find it, worth listening to. I have both. Why? I'm a sucker for Keith Richards.

Smoke Rise: The Survival of St. Joan (1971, Paramount Records PAS-9000) This is the first time this band made a record. The Zeet Band: Moogie Woogie (1969, Chess Records LPS-1545) Chicago Jazz & Blues well-known players, along with Michael Bloomfield. Neither album has been released on CD nor reissued on LP.

The Loved Ones’ Magic Box is one of my favourites. They were an Australian band and the album was released in 1967. My oldest brother lent it to me back in the 80s but I couldn’t get into it except for the hit The Loved One. However, a few years back I heard another song from the album and liked it so I revisited the album and liked it. I love Never Mind the Bollocks…, Grace and Pacific Ocean Blue. I like The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill and Temple of the Dog although I didn’t care so much for the latter upon first listen. I have that Derek and the Dominoes album and it would be, along with the Byrds Mr. Tambourine Man, my least favourite and most disappointing album. I have tried to like it but it’s just too boring.

I owned the Rutles album Larry and it is very good,Neil Innis,Ron Nasty their chief songwriter was a very talented man and the Monks with those haircuts looked absolutely horrible,a very bad idea,I have no idea what they sounded like but I hated that look and somehow I remember seeing that Lord Sutch album in our house,he was a horrible singer but it showed that money can buy you a lot of things and the Shaggs grandmother was right!. Not a true album compared to their debut. The Wheat Album is a 2018 album released by Ron Nasty and the Rutles, featuring early rehearsal music from the recording of Archaeology. It also included three songs not released on Archaeology, including the 2009 solo track "Imitation Song" and Evolution Number Ten (from The Triangular Album). Originally only available to purchase from live events, it is limited to 2000 copies and is only available at Nasty's website.
