2007 Chevy Tahoe 2, 12 inch kicker Comp R just showing this video to see if anybody was interested buying kickers. Not mine of course I have had it for four months now and I love it. Song Old Town Road
this is actually a great reference video for anyone considering purchasing this ported enclosure as this song uses the spinz 808 which is one of the more popular picks for modern hip hop/pop
i had the dual 10s kicker comp r in my bmw e90. i recently upgraded to skar dual 10 evls with the amored pre fab skar box. i highly reccomend skar over kicker
@Treedom Vellacroix kicker is awesome for quality bass skar for hair tricks. But my personal opinion rockford is my favorite. I upgraded too a rockford t2500 and dual rockford 12 t012 and they pound harder then anything my friends say I can be heard down the block lol
What amp would you recommend using? The Kicker CXA800.1 or CXA1200.1? I feel like the CXA800.1 would be better just because its 800 watts 1600 rms, as opposed to 1200 watts 2400 rms per sub, the subwoofer alone is 1000 watts 2000 rms, i rather have it a lil underpowered than a lil overpowered, whats your thoughts?
@C.H.S Billy i just upgraded to the cxa1200.1 yesterday and omg what a difference, my system sounds nasty, i literally have the gain all they way down on my bass knobber about a 1/4 way and the whole suv shakes its amazing what a difference 400 watts added does to a system!
What amp are you using for this because I got the same subs and I’m having difficulty finding the right amp and wiring kit I don’t want to mess anything up!!!
Match RMS ratings and look up wiring diagrams... definitely recommend 0 guage and a distribution block to help fit the minimum guage wire to the amp. Also a breaker underneath the hood will work as well just in case something does goes wrong you can pop the hood and break the circuit so there's no signal/power going to subs or amp! How many of the Comp Rs do you have and are they Dual 4 Ohm or Dual 2 Ohm? Size? 12 or 10s?
@@jaleelheerah5836 Sorry for the late reply, any of these amps will push your 12s with ease, make sure you wire both subs to a final 2 ohm impedance/load. Precision Power ICE2600.1D Power Acoustik RZ1-1500D Hifonics HFi1500D
I don’t understand why mine don’t hit as hard as that, I have a 2000w kenwood amp, with pioneer stereo, and yes it’s wired to 2ohms only thing that needs a change is my red power wire but does that have much of an effect?
Why do you need to change your power wire and you probably just need to tune your amp gain hertz etc plus look up what your amp is rated to you might just be way under powering your subs I have the same subs with 3000w amp my are wired 4 ohm they are rated to 500rms each but they can run higher if you don’t have a good amp then it’s not pushing out the power it says it is so you might try getting an amp that is rated higher at rms because constant power is what you need if it’s a daily and you like to jam out
I've got those subs and box combo set up with 4 Excelon 6×9s on a 5-channel Excelon amp. Only 1600 watts but the sound is fantastic. Now I just need to stop the back panel from resonating against the back window when the subs play the right frequencies. 😂😂
@@carlosbaker7825 yes sir it does. I considered getting a separate amp for the subs for more bass. Then I play that shit at 90% and change my mind. LOL
I have the same subs but when I switch between 4 ohm and 2 ohm on the back of the speaker at high volumes they have this pop to them. If I turn it down just a little bit they go back to pounding again? Any suggestions?
See i was just about to ask that same question because i ended up getting the CXA800.1 its 800 watts 1600 rms and the Comp Rs are 1000 watts 2000 rms, so i feel like that would be more compatible than 1200.1 with 1200 watts 2400 rms! Just unsure if it would sound better a lil bit underpowered or overpowered! Your thoughts?
CX1200.1 usually birth around 1300-1400 rms at 1 or 2 Ohms. CX800.1 is 800 rms at 1 Ohm, 600 rms at 2 ohm. If you picked up a CX1200.1, set your gains with a multimeter to make sure you're feeding them 500w, not 600-700. A CX800.1 is fine for 1 Comp R, also set gains accordingly. These speakers have a sensitivity near 87dB so they're decently power efficient. Running 400w rms to one, or 800w rms to 2 would be perfectly fine as well. Keep in mind that a lower power amp will likely send forth distortion the closer you're around rated power depending on a number of factors. If you set the gains correctly and don't send bad signal, 800w on two would be fine. Personally the CX1200.1 would be a better route. You will give them their full power and not risk sending a clipped signal as easily as a less powerful amp to achieve the desired output.
How do you like these? I'm really thinking about getting this mostly because the subs and box are sold together so i don't have to worry about trying to match subs with the right box.
Picked up a pair on Friday, definitely not the best subs in the world but wow do they move everything in my car, easily louder than my friends dual Rockford fosgate 12s on a skar 800.1
yeah they can def use more power, but it depends on how much bass you want, personally if i had these i'd probably keep them how the OP has them set to, underpowering them will also kinda increase the life span of them too.
I personally own this same box, I’m using the kicker 1200 watt amp and they honestly slam pretty hard for the price. I don’t know why people hate on kicker so much. They only handle 1000 watts rms but they handle 1200 watts with no sweat and barely warm up under heavy use. Very much worth it if you’re on a budget
@@SwimmerBoss if you get a better amp they will hit much much better your amp won’t constantly run 1200 watts I don’t know much about that amp but look into something at can run 700 rms each and they will bump like a mo fo
I just put 2 of these in a audi avant wagon and they defiantly slap. On a good amp they’ll knock pretty good. Now if you want stupid retarted bass you get a 15 in l7 or 2.... but these will do more than enough for most people!
i got 2 compR 12" whit a Hypnotic Hyp2600.1D amp, but i feel like it sounds a little bit low, what should i do? is that amp fine for 2 or i need to set more gain? sorry for my english
@@freyvortex2593 well i took it to someone and they said it was the radio because different types of radios do that and i replaced my radio and i dont hage that noise no more
@@Lstubz You could upload a video with the best subwoofer; hooked up to the best amp in the trunk of the best car ever made. You can then play the world's favorite song and meter it with best equipment displaying the loud DBL ever recorded.......AND PEOPLE WILL STILL TALK SHIT.
