Thank you for the post-it note tip, my son is autistic (and we don’t live in America to have known this) and the auto flushing would definitely scare him and making trips to the toilet a nightmare ❤
I've been looking at Disneyland hacks for over 6 months now, and your Post-It Note hack is the first "OMG hell yes!" moment!!! SUCH a great idea, thank you. This mama bear is already grateful for the help that's going to provide.
I would highly recommend people to bring an umbrella with UPF! We brought ours from Coolibar, and you don’t know how many times we repeatedly said how grateful we were of bringing it. While everyone was sweating and getting sunburned, we were cool as a cucumber. A regular umbrella won’t work for the sun because you can feel the heat go through the fabric of the umbrella. It gets steamy underneath. Not with a 50+ UPF umbrella! We were saving our spots for the parade for an hour, and we were not sweating at all. My husband even took a nap, and he really can’t withstand heat at all. We also wore UPF clothing from Coolibar, and that kept us really cool and protected from the sun. I promise this is not a Coolibar ad. 😂 They’re really awesome though.
I’m sensitive to extreme heat and used an umbrella with UPF protection, it works. Even had several people asking about it and wish they had one. California sun is hot.
I never thought of the post it notes! My daughter is terrified of the auto flush and she’s now 8 and still scares her. I have to go in with her and hold my hand over it until she’s done. This will help immensely so she can go by herself! Thank you!!!!
Yes! I have learned that since. Thank you. I’ve actually bought my own. Well I bought one for my wife, because her phone was nearly dead and I figured it would be helpful to know more about them!
Wow, I REALLY liked these tips. Going to for sure bring some metal straws and bracelets for the kids…glow sticks are creative and will probably save some money. Love the Fanny pack idea for the kids too…🤯
Love these tips. Post-it trick is so smart for those little ones. And for the kids having their own Fannie pack brilliant. James can even carry his chapstick, too.
I recently went on a Disneyland trip with two other families and various members wanted to go on Splash Mountain for a farewell ride, but no one wanted to deal with wet shoes and socks. I was prepared though and had packed dollar ponchos and flip flops in a plastic grocery bag for me and my daughter in my park bag. We got on the ride, threw away the ponchos after we got off, and changed back into our regular shoes and socks and continued on our day (the park bag stayed dry thanks to a non-rider). The rest of our party wishes they had planned for that scenario.
For sure I see people walking around the parks wearing shorts when it’s 45 degrees outside. I always think they’re a little crazy because meanwhile I’m 🥶 😂🤣
Exactly. I also found myself needing a pen earlier that day to mark up my Food and Wine passport with items I wanted. But I assumed most folks probably carried pens (had my wife been with me, she would have had one. We got stuck in different parks to start because of what was available for reservations) so didn’t include it in the video.
@@SoCalDisneyDad The FuelRods are also yours to keep -- they can be recharged using a cord (which they actually do come with a cord at first purchase), or they can be swapped out at any Fuel Rod location, which includes the hotels, as well as Universal Studios, many hotels all over the nation, etc -- for as long as you have it. (Or for as long as the company is around)
@@elliedote1765 Someone else had mentioned that. Thanks for the info about it coming with a cord. I just assumed it popped out a charger like it does for refills when you first purchase it too.
So the virtual queue is only being used for World of Color at the moment. They dropped it on Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway pretty quickly. If you intend to go to World of Color, at noon on the day you go you’ll need to join the virtual queue from the Disneyland app. It’s right there on the home page and really simple to do. Amendment: it looks like Rogers the Musical will be on there too.
You’ll definitely need it in June. The temperature may be good most of the day, but June around here is something called “June Gloom” meaning that there’s a thick cloud cover that will hang around most every day until Noon. There’s potential for June to be hot, but it could also have some brisk mornings.
You can definitely bring your own straws. Doesn’t matter the material. Ours are metal, but plastic is fine. It’s not a zoo where they’re concerned about animals. It’s totally a “green” decision on the part of Disney to go to paper.
I felt so lucky me and my youngest where given Disney pins twice in our St Patty's trip this year. One from staff and one from a park guest. I've never gotten anything free other then that a Disneyland.
I always tell people to bring ziplock bags. If you bring the gallon size they are also good for wet clothes. If you have little ones you may have extra clothes for them, but you need somewhere to put their wet clothes. Also works good for "accidents". I highly recommend dry socks during the rainy season. You will be surprised how much better you will feel if you can put on dry socks after you step in a puddle and get your feet wet. Great list. P.s. don't forget if anyone in your group has food allergies to bring snacks for them. Disney is one of the better parks for finding meals that fit special diets, but it is harder for snacks.
All of this is really great, but especially about the snacks. I've often been really surprised they don't have more allergy friendly options, like there's nothing sugar-free anywhere in the park (to my knowledge) and some people legitimately do have a sugar allergy, and then there's some of us who just don't want so much sugar in our diets. 😅
7:07 - Yes on the jackets. I've live my whole life in a southern central coast CA touristy town and the #1 sold non-food item in the shops for July are sweatshirts. Seriously, people misjudge this so much - H80s/L90s in the day and H50s in the evening/morning. I usually wear jeans and a jacket to our local 4th of July Firework show.
The baby station also provides diapers and wipes for purchase, and the first aid station provides bandaids (which of course I would also advise to bring).
I did not know that! (About the baby station). I think we've always had supplies and haven't needed to purchase them. We haven't used the baby stations in quite some years now with our youngest being 5 1/2. But that's great to know. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for these helpful tips. 🙏🏽🤗 By the by, the fuel rods have adapters with cables to plug in your phone to charge. Both android and apple adapters are included with the rods.
Some others have mentioned that. Thank you! Any future time I mention then I’ll make sure to have that info. Having never purchased one before I did not know. Thanks again!
Great video! Benjamin sounds very much like my son. He’s 25 now and is still afraid of everything new. Benjamin seems more flexible, so you’re lucky 😉 I always bring ziploc bags! I travel solo and don’t have anyone to share it with, so I save a lot to take back to my room. Also, I just bring fast food plastic straws. I often forget to retrieve it 😂
Love the straw hack! Sometimes it’s a pain to clean out the reusable straws (like if we got a milkshake), but I love how the metal straw gets frosted over and keep my drink cold (the colder the better in my eyes).
💯 on the straws...we're taking a set this go around because our straws were getting thick and soggy halfway through our drinks last time and we had to keep grabbing extras
@@thomaschurch3379 Ah! I bought that on Amazon too. I just didn’t remember that ever making it on camera, which is why I assumed Amy’s. Here’s mine: amzn.to/3mnneVa
I also bring some Pepto-Bismol chewable tablets. We all like to indulge in the food at Disneyland, but sometimes there are consequences. Another thing I bring is saline and other things for taking care of contacts. A full day can be pretty long there and it can be necessary to refresh your lenses.
SoCal also has the worst-tasting water at all restaurants. I always bring some from home into Disneyland a large metal water bottle. Ceres Chill is my favorite.
September is our hottest month of the year. And October is pretty toasty too. You definitely won’t need jackets at the end of September. Expect 90s and sunny every day. It’s wildfire season, so there shouldn’t be any rain either.
When your at Monsters inc, ask for a "buddy pass" from the CM in the front. Groups of 2 or 2 with a little (1 row) skip the line by going through the exit.
Yeah, great little tip. The Monster line has been so bad since they added it to Fast Pass right before Covid shutdown, and now on G+. Toy Story sometimes does the same, and it's called "Moving Buddy," but it's been super rare that they use it anymore.
I bring small party bubbles for in the lines. All the kids love them. My son is older now and likes to blow bubbles for the little kids. Also fruit snacks and mini packs of mms.
Omg this is fantastic information! I'm a Floridian, WDW AP holder, so we do most of these suggestions here. Except a blanket & sweater. Unless Florida participates in winter. Lol. We're coming in October. October 13th is our first day in town. Can anyone tell me if we should we bring sweaters? Also, should we bring umbrellas? We were bringing ponchos. I wouldn't have thought about these 2 things.
October is one of our hottest months of the year. I would say September and October are the two months where jackets aren’t necessary. Even in the evening. You could bring an umbrella just in case, but they’re also our two driest months of the year with wildfires being common then.
@@SoCalDisneyDad thank you so much for the information!!!!!!! I just came across your video, and I'm on my 3rd video right now. Thank you so much for your helpful videos!
Great suggestion! Not so great “reason” for the suggestion. ❤️🔥 I luckily haven’t experienced that, but I’m sure others have and that’s got to be a bummer.
you can get free water from any place that serves drinks. just ask, and if the person is really friendly they will give you a large cup of water with ice for free
May Gray comes before June Gloom. It could be a little chilly in the mornings but the sun should make an appearance after noon when the marine layer (thick blanket of clouds) burns off and it could warm all the way up to 80s, then will drop back to the 50/60s after dark. When I look back at past footage from May, I usually find us wearing jackets still, but even on my most recent visit (Thursday), it warmed up to 72 and I took my jacket off for 4-5 hours. The day started off at 52 though. Because of the arid climate, temperatures can fluctuate as much as 40 degrees in a day here.
also mostly during the hot months, sun screen and baby powder, because chaffing is no laughing matter. but if you find yourself in need like me, the nurses office next to the hot dog on a stick stand will provide the powder for those painful moments
Great suggestions! I needed the sunscreen on Monday. It's been so dreary lately I didn't even think about it. The sun came out around Noon and I came home looking like a lobster.
Our family has "magic ponchos" it's a family joke because whenever we pack ponchos it doesn't rain, but if we forget them...watch out for storms. Bring your ponchos and see if they are "magic"😊
@@ChristopherColeman-d2l It’s been awhile since I made this video, so I’m not 100% positive what you’re referring to. But if you mean microwaves inside baby care centers, they are only for use for babies for bottle warming or similar. Not just anyone can walk in and use the microwave.
Tell me about it!! It's crazy. 60 degrees, overcast (not so unusual, but all day overcast is, it's usually gone by noon), and RAIN. The weather is nicer in dreary Pennsylvania where I grew up (80 degrees and sunshine). That's not right. Not right at all.
Hasn’t ever happened to me so it wasn’t something I was thinking of, but it’s an excellent suggestion! Thank you for adding it here for other viewers who read the comments!
Is that an umbrella? You might be surprised to find out that it has rained around 50 days in the last 6 months. That it is raining right this very minute at Disneyland, and that there are two days of rain on the next 10 day forecast as well.
Nonono. I am the genius. My kids have always worn their own butt pack; carry their own sunscreen, emergency info, poncho, besides snacks. Originated by the Unofficial Guide to Disneyland, who were the original geniuses, of course.
@@SoCalDisneyDad thank you for your videos. Im an older mom with a 4 and 5 year old, I started all over in my older age and your videos have helped me to prepare for an up coming trip to Disneyland. Boy has everything changed from back with my 28 year old son... Disneyland seems so complicated compared to back in 1995... I have been binge watching your videos, I want to keep up with my two little ones so they're not shorted because of my age. Once again, thank u so much! 💕
