Can we make it over the mountain pass into the beautiful valley of Marienfluss?
We continue our Land Rover journey in the Kaokoveld/Namib Desert in Namibia, visiting each of the marker drums, green, orange, blue and red in a 2 part episode, camping out in the wilderness alone and buying a 'not vry good' Leopard along the way!
As usual I do my humble best to capture the unique atmosphere of being completely alone in such isolated beauty.
This is the story of a year long LD stay in Namibia..... with you in the passenger seat!

Awesome...thanks for sharing...I think you have to have experienced a thunderstorm out in the middle of nowhere in a vehicle to appreciate how beautiful and terrifying it can be...riding passenger you get to see more...stay safe...South Africa.

Pleasure 😌 Yes, the smug feeling of sophistication we get from our modern technologies suddenly seems misplaced when you experience the instant jolt of fear down your neck from the sound of a nearby lightening bolt.

Wise decision on that route over the ridge - can turn into a nightmare, even though the Landy can do it. Tyres and damages are difficult to replace/fix when u are close to nothing! Rather bale out and live to drive another day !! Go safe and keep on going - ego can be polished somewhere else .. .. .. .. ha ha ha ha ha

Always look forward to your videos. Although 'home' is near Durban in RSA, my wife and i spend the majority of our year travelling in a motorhome. Your vids are 'tempters' for possible trips but probably not achievable practically in our 3.5 tonne vehicle now that we are in our 70's !

good call to go via rooidrom as it only wilderness safaris that use that pass regularly and cafema would have closed, thanks for the videos they are great

Thanks mate, always nice to get a bit of recognition for what is a completely unpaid 7 day a week job 😃 (Just between me and you, plan on having a few minutes after your lunch on Sunday afternoon {wink}) From Orumpembe, just stay on the most westerly track up to Green Drum, then straight east across to Orange, Blue and Red.
