We continue our journey in the Kaokoveld/Namib Desert in Namibia, visiting each of the marker drums, green, orange, blue and red in a 2 part episode. As usual I do my humble best to capture the unique atmosphere of being completely alone in such isolated beauty.
This is the story of a year long LD stay in Namibia..... with you in the passenger seat!
Please let me know what you think in the comments section, I'm always interested to know who enjoys my films, and where your from!
My ability to edit these films is entirely dependent on your kind assistance.

What I miss about Namibia is the open space and silence, like you are free from the day to day sensory overloads we have accepted as part and parcel of daily life. You’ve captured this so well

I'm actually the sensory overlords agent out there, on patrol in case subversive elements are trying to organise the giraffe to revolt :-)

Great episode Darrin. An area I have never been and looking at my wishlist perhaps will never see. Thanks to guys like you I can get a glimpse. Go well, go slow and stay safe. Best for now.

Brilliant episode Darrin. Makes me want to escape up north in my Landy!

Thanks. It is quite hot up there, perhaps you should install some kind of system to cool the air inside your Landy first?!

That's been great landscape and quietness again - absolutely amazing. The only drum I've crossed in last year's October has been Rooidrom 😊 - so I think I'll watch Pt. 2 right now! 😀🤘🏾

Another good one Darrin, leaving us on a cliff hanger, haha. I would love to see your channel grow mate, but I think you should put up more content to achieve this. At least once a week, I'm not suggesting you edit an episode every week, (I know how much work that takes) but maybe a sort of vlog on related topics like preparations, kit, people, places or even just reflecting on your journey. Also how could we (your followers) stimulate conversations on your comments to help in the algorithm etc. Just saying there are people out here rooting for you fella

Thanks for the supportive thoughts Martin, greatly appreciated! 👌🙏 So full answers... - Things are under way in a few of those directions. My nature is to always make the best and most interesting film I can, one I would want to watch myself, and this takes thought and planning along with the technical execution... working on other projects/series means these longer films are even more delayed. - Even a 3-5 minute film can take 1-3 days to dream up, shoot/record, gather and resources, edit, refine, create thumbnail etc. (The thumbnail for #12 took me 4 hours to produce for example). I work on them at night when I'm too tired for the main films. - I've been working long hours at least 6 days a week for the last 7 months putting things together, so am frustrated more than most at how long each one takes, but I'm learning a lot, the technical side is becoming much easier, my filming gets better etc - but sadly I'm limited to only one pair of eyes and hands. I wish I didn't have to sleep or get tired... - The next few series will be easier to edit. I'm enjoying editing each film as I can see how my filming becomes slightly better with each week that passes... Enjoy Part 2, due out in 1.5 hours! 😀 Kind regards, Darrin

Howdy Mr Yak! Glad you are back and appreciate the trip with ya very mucho! Now I know that fuel gauge did not say empty in the middle of bum-- Namibia right? You are a brave man I say! Love the content and hope more jump on soon! I have forwarded to some mates and hope that they do as well! Thanks again from Texas!

Thanks Stuart! Greatly appreciated that you shared with others, I'm struggling to get much traction on the channel which is frustrating... thanks for doing what you can!

The “marble” is actually quartz. Those are quartz reefs or blows often associated with gold deposits. Truly spectacular scenery and clearly a bad drought by the look of things.

Oh, great, thanks for correcting me, interesting and useful to know! 👍👍 I assumed it was marble as there is 'Marble Campsite' etc nearby... And super thanks for enjoying the films and leaving comments! 🙃🤗

Keep it up, Darrin! I'm sure it can be hard to get a fledgling channel to return on what must be an immense investment of time to produce videos of this standard. I and many others look forward to your videos! Can't wait for the rest of the series. 👍

Thanks mate :-) Yes, it's been 2.5 years worth of filming and now editing, a large chunk of life and money... The fuel gauge is heading towards empty and I can't see a fuel station in sight at the moment... 🤞🤞🤞
