Yep, Pyro wasn't kidding when he said this is horrifying. I can't imagine being in a state like that 24/7 but the truly scary thing is, there's no guarantee it won't happen to me or anyone else when we get really old.

My grandpa puts boxes of stuff in my grandmas car, he asks “when are we moving to the new house” my grandma would drive him around the neighborhoods until he falls asleep, then she would wake him up and tell him “were here” he would get excited and unbox the stuff in his room, at random times in the night he would call out “mom, help me, im stuck in the chair” he also has Parkinson’s so he cant move during the night, his mom died 15-20 years ago, he will also tear up the house when my grandma goes out for lunch, he is looking for “it” apparently, he can’t recognize his wife anymore, he talks to ppl that arent there. This stuff was all normal until about 2 weeks ago, he was found naked in my grandmas front lawn, he was taken to the hospital and is now on hospice, he has 3 and a half month expected, 4 if we are lucky, i wish he was normal again.

I know the pain bud… just know that it comes and it hurts like hell but I promise you, you’ll feel much better when you know that he is forever going to be loved, you’ll have the memories to hold deep within, and just know that when that day comes (if it already has I’m extremely sorry for your loss) you’ll feel much better knowing he isn’t suffering like he was before!!! My grandma has talked about everyone in he 3rd person since her diagnosis and she’s been very rapid. There’s times where she’s told my grandfather that all she wants to do is marry a nice man when she gets out of school. She packed a suit case and told my grandfather that he needed to do the same cause there’s a man in the driveway.

When she was explaining how they set them up I was like “Holy shit that’s extremely uncomfortable” …its so sad. I’m currently taking care of a dementia patient & I have so much empathy and patience for him. He’s not too verbal but he’ll say little things from time to time and “mhm”. Its like being born again but in an old person’s body. I can’t even imagine how frustrating it is so as someone who cares for a dementia patient I tend to think about if I was in their position because one day I definitely could be. The circle of life

This and other dementia videos are exactly like a bad day with schizophrenia. I have schizophrenia, I find the dementia simulations are much closer than most of the schizophrenia simulations....exactly for seeing people who aren't there and hearing people, 3 or 4 arguing about talking about what you are doing and how foolish and mocking you over the buzzing and loud noises. The sense of your environment, even close to home feeling unfamiliar and becoming disoriented or out right lost. And fearing asking people for help. And when you start to talk to ask for assistance, nonsense or sounding incoherent is what comes out of your mouth...

This is absolutely not what it is like to have dementia. No no no. This may be good training for caregivers, because the symptoms mimic the experiment. But the sensations and tactile feedback are way different for dimentia sufferers. If you want to experience dimentia-brain, then there are certain aspects of LSD that wwill give you pretty accurate brain-fog. The goldfish memory (forgetting about things from 10 seconds ago).
@AuthenticProphetic
@AuthenticProphetic 2 года назад
Source on the LSD claim? This sounds like a claim that somebody who's never done LSD would make.
@house_cocoon
@house_cocoon 2 года назад
What kind of LSD have you been taking? Bcs while yeah, it does fuck with your brain a bit, your memory remains pretty much untouched. At most it'll mess with your sense of time and make your thoughts bounce around in your skull but I wouldn't go so far as to say it causes "brain fog" or "goldfish memory"
@AuthenticProphetic
@AuthenticProphetic 2 года назад
@@house_cocoon I've been microdosing with the occasional moderate dose for 4 years and if anything, it's improved my cognition as well as my emotional stability.
@Naetrox
@Naetrox 2 года назад
It's not an accurate simulation but it still muddles the senses well enough to approximate some of the effects. I don't think LSD will give you the right kind of brain-fog - you'd have to look at deliriants, a subset of hallucinogenics. As the name suggests, they put you into a delirium, which is much closer to the kind of confusion one experiences on dementia. I deal with deliriums of my own every few weeks, though thankfully they happen at night and I manage to stay in my bed.
@AuthenticProphetic
@AuthenticProphetic 2 года назад
@@Naetrox I agree, but deliriants like diphenhydramine (Benadryl) or datura are very different from psychedelics.
