I think you meant the comments of 'beforebefore' make you question the legitimacy of this channel's content and I definitely agree with you. Something about the narrator's voice that sounds so trusting. Still, I would hope much of this channel's content is correct . . . one would hope. Your observation is what most who read that are thinking, Cheers
@@tberrios9330 you must have a cheap charger, because most detect its not charging anymore and stop. in fact, you cant overcharge on a usb hub. my galaxy tab's been on there for months. what happened? nothing, when I turn it off it charges, when I turn it on its like its plugged into the wall like any pc
@@MafiosoDon21you prune,it is way better to keep a Smartphone switched on whilst charging as switching it on after charging will waste up to 2% charge whilst the device reboots
Is that i am alone who think this guys are misguiding us because they have got sponsored by smartphone so that our phone will be damaged and we had to buy a new one
22 years of IT EXP here... I say that 50% is BS. Charging your phone and using it is far slower but it is safe to do so. Your phone will charge 70% faster powered down and the one that bugged me was leaving your Bluetooth on while not in use, yes it does drain batteries up to 40% faster. Some they did get right are task managers and turning your screen down and the extreme hot and cold will damage your battery however in the heat your phone will stop charging to save your battery and phone from damage.
The turning off wifi and other broadcast to save battery is true. Your phone will constant send request and search for network access and if you are in a location with weak or no signal. That action can drain your battery very fast.
Leave chargers plugged in is dangerous. Currently in d news, d house burned down bcoz of d plugged in charger. Reported 4 deaths in d family. So it's up to u to decide.
Can't agree with 2 and 10. When someone is doing heavy usage (RU-vid, IG, gaming) and charging their phone at the same time.... It causes the phone to get extremely hot which could lower the life expectancy of the battery. It's the same thing as what you said for number 10 due to overheating. As someone who works on computers, overcharging is real no matter what tasks are being done on the computer. If you leave the power cord in 24/7 it will take a couple years but your battery will only last 30 minutes or less.
Arthur Byers Uhm, my phone haven't been overheating while watching RU-vid for 3 hrs. Played some heavy games for 2 hrs and it indeed gets hot. But it just cools down. It's not even at 40 degrees Celsius.
Turning off Bluetooth, GPS, and Wi-Fi to prolong the battery life. 8:42 I stopped at this cos i have personally turned off my wifi and Bluetooth when my batt is low to save it and it worked. This dude surely doesnt know what he is saying
thanks; I just got wi-fi calling -AT&T - and have noticed a faster battery drain! I will turn off and see if this makes a difference; altho' it's a older phone, and I have a difference charger, plus have had to replace the connection to charge.. mysteries of smartphones, ah!
*2:22* I don't have a phone but it does break when you use it while its charging ( tablet ) When I used it while it was charging, it didn't charge, proof! I used other devices and it charged but it didn't charge for my tablet so the charging hole is broken, *I think this only is safe with phones.*
I'm an old man who especially right now during a pandemic and negative degree windchills here in Texas lives on his cell phone or I should say Android. I recently bought an Android exactly the same as mine just for the battery because the whole phone battery and all was only $29 in this way I can have a spare battery. While switching batteries the other morning I pulled the battery out of my phone and then made a mistake and put the same battery right back in.prior to removing the battery it said my battery was at 14% get when I put it back in it magically went up to 53%. So I don't know if you can answer why it would do this but I found it sort of fishy 🐡🐡
For some reason, my phone has been "cutting off" even when I still have 30% left on the battery?!!! 😲 It can leave me stuck at inopportune times! I used to leave my charger at home, but now I'll take it with me, if I know I'm gonna be OUT & NEED to use my phone!!! 📱
I play sims 4 and that kills my lap top battery so i always keep it plugged in so the computer battery doesn't die and i lose everything in my game that didn't get saved .
@@bebop54 What can I say that's me. ;) But being real now, ppl can make claims all day long. If you have something to say that will add to my knowledge go ahead. But at least have something to back up your claims.
:( I know.. but I regret it.. the phone blown up so loud at the middle the night;-; But we can think that later Xc! It's long time ago since the phone blown up :)
#2 That's what I'm doing now eheheh After watching no.2 I plugged out my charger correctly not the power plug but the micro USB cable but after I watch "leaving your charger plugged into the power plug can't harm" nah... Just following steps on bright side heeehehehehe....
The reason why I unsubscribed to this channel long time ago.. but came here because of my friend who shared it with me via telegram and wanted me to watch it.
Especially wifi, Bluetooth and GPS, it's giving misconceptions. Don't follow them. And charging overnight damages your battery. Yes battery itself stops charging once it reaches %100 but phone itself drains battery then charges again and again. Also they don't know how different chargers work, 1A 2A or more, charger amperes are different
*Good point amps are the most relevant thing to charging! (and screen brightness to battery life)* Also using higher amperage chargers then your phone came with should be fine. Electronics should almost certainly only pull the pressure (Amps) needed to do their designated work. This is not a hardfast rule but I've never heard of a problem. To know which charger has the most Amperage I _write the mA rating in Sharpie, Gold/Silver works om black plastic. _*_;]_*
My Bluetooth device like action cam and gimbal, (headset still 3.5) I'm not using those often , But how on this planet leave the Bluetooth on when don't use it ? omg
My problem is, I have no place in the house to charge my phone where I can keep checking on the charge. Very difficult to know when to pull the plug at 80% or less; and at that level I would have to charge it several times a day.
Please remove the annoying background music, it's giving headache and makes impossible to pay attention to what you are saying. Also, many of the tips are incorrect...
@@ponzu638 i think so in the long term Your phone is trying to charge but the battery its giving is being used ; so it has a slower charge The phone will charge slower if you do this more often And in some cases, it will explode. Especially if the battery quality is bad.
Im watching this on my Laptop... Not on my phone because i am not a millennial or addicted to my phone.. I use my phone for its sole purpose, to make and receive CALLS ... Not to browse the web or social media 24/7 ...
#2 depends what you're doing. If your play heavy graphic game it'll affect the charging. In LG 4X HD when was charging and gaming in time didn't charge at all cause it was too hot. So take this as an exception .
Hey bright side I'm having a doubt..That if a cellular data in a phone is simply turned on for several hours, It won't drain the battery percentage in the mobile??
When you make usage of Audio (Speaker) and the Video ( Display) at the same time , Guess what !! It Drains the Battery. The more you use it , Multitask with the different parts of device, It Drains the Battery
Also, I don't think there is a point to charge at 75 - 90%. Just wait till it goes to 40 - 60% and then charge it either to 60 - 80% or charge it overnight
When you are using your phone while charging it it will take way more time because the processor heats when charging and if you are using it it will be even hotter and then it will slow down the processor and charging speed!
because its using energy, and yes, heat is a waste byproduct of it... heat does not slow down cpu's by the way, and the cpu is designed to stop itself in the event it overheats. anyway... charging bat is faster when your not using it because the cpu is taking some of that power.. be nice if you could feed cpu and bat enough but those usb wall chargers are only 2 amps
electrical resistance increases when temperature rises, so CPU’s will slow down when heat increases. Apparently heat (excessive) also shortens CPU’s life. If CPU’s are designed to stop when it overheats I would think this would be in extreme conditions, but I would guess they are designed to slow down gradually to reduce the risk of overheating - but that’s just my guess. Like mentioned in the video, even when the smartphone is charging, it most likely has some processes running in the background anyway, but using the smartphone while charging will - like you mentioned - slow down the charging process, but will also additionally increase the temperature of the CPU and battery excessively - especially when using internet with bad network and/or watching videos. Since high temperature is not desirable for the battery and CPU, that should probably be avoided. I found with experience that ipad charger, charges the iphone faster, turning airplane mode on also helps however marginally - it decreases the use of battery by reducing processes that consume power while charging. Not really sure how accurate this video is, it’s bery generalized at best, but I have been told by apple staff (genius bar) that leaving an iphone plugged in for charging overnigth is not good for the battery, also they said that it’s better to charge the battery full rather than charging it bit by bit. But again this probably is not a major issue with the type of batteries used in todays smartphones, but when done regularly it might have some impact.
Ridiculous. Your phone generates heat WHENEVER it's being used, regardless of whether it's being charged or not, and you're far more likely to get power slowdowns and dangerous overheating from running too many apps at once than you are from the negligible effects of a battery charge. If your CPU is overheating from a battery charge, then you're either running too many background apps or something was wrong with the CPU to begin with, because it's designed to handle the heat generation of use while a battery charges.
Aquaria, I heard that the iOS manadges apps so that even when they run in the background, they don’t consume resources too much - unless ofcourse some of them have background refresh on. So apparently in some cases it’s better to leave apps running in the background than turning them off and on, as loading the app would use more resources. I turn off all unused apps from the background despite that 😀 and only leave the few ones I use regularly and frequently. All I was trying to say, is that using the phone while charging will just add to the heating effect and that could have a negative affect on CPU etc. See the links below. If charging would’t generate significant additional amount of heat, they probably wouldn’t have advised to remove the phone from certain cases when charging battery. www.apple.com/uk/batteries/maximizing-performance/ www.apple.com/uk/batteries/why-lithium-ion/ support.apple.com/en-us/HT202105 Regards, Michael
When im home ive always left my phone in cradle and charging, in all the years ive used a mobile phone has not once affected battery, i also use an old samsung phone as a cctv monitor that is left plugged in 24/7 battery still holds same amount of juice when unplugged as the day i got it, one of the many reasons i always buy Samsung, even if there ever is an issue just buy a new battery and replace.
2 is wrong 5 is wrong 6 is wrong 10 is wrong 11 is wrong. "wifi uses less energy than cellular data" yes, but cellular connections use up a ton of energy.
