30 - 90 is better for me because when when you charge up to 80% the phone battery system doesn't reset for example when you charge 80% daily for a week you'll get 30 hours screen on time (depends on the user) but when you charge up to 90 it automatically resets. @elephant1851
@elephant1851 Год назад
For optimal use/preserve health ratio charge from 30 to 85%. Never leave phones/tablets/laptops in direct sunlight or in a hot car. Look through your settings, you might find a "limit battery charge" option. Some laptops have a battery utility program that allows you to stop charging once the battery reaches a certain percentage. This is especially useful for people who almost never disconnect their laptop from the charger. Set it to 50-65%, if you're one of those people, since this is the best charge state for stored lithium ion batteries. Only fast charge when you're in a hurry. Follow this advice strictly and enjoy >95% capacity after 2 years.

Charge between 30% and 85%: Keeping your devices within this range can help prolong the overall lifespan of the battery. Avoid consistently letting the battery level drop too low or charging it to 100% regularly. Avoid direct sunlight and hot cars: Heat can have a detrimental effect on battery health, so it's essential to keep your devices away from direct sunlight or extremely hot environments like cars, as this can cause damage to the battery. Check for "limit battery charge" option: Some devices have settings that allow you to limit the battery charging level. This feature can be handy if you often keep your laptop connected to the charger. Setting it to a lower level, like 50-65%, can help optimize battery health for long-term storage. Utilize battery utility programs: Certain laptops may come with battery utility programs that offer additional customization options. These programs can include features such as stopping the charging process once the battery reaches a specific percentage. This feature is particularly useful for individuals who rarely disconnect their laptops from the charger. Fast charge sparingly: While fast charging can be convenient when you're in a hurry, it generally generates more heat and can contribute to faster battery degradation. To optimize battery health, it's advisable to reserve fast charging for when you genuinely need it and opt for regular charging most of the time.

I just ordered the S22 Ultra and I'm upgrading from my Galaxy S10. I went through the battery health and phone health application on my S10 and it clearly told me that the battery is weak and it needs to be replaced. So this sparked my interest and made me wonder was there anything that I did over the years that caused the battery to be in such poor condition. For a majority of my phone's lifespan It was fast charged. About a year to 2 years ago I stopped fast charging my phone and started using a regular wattage charger. Hopefully that gave my battery a little bit more life but it's time to trade up. Thank you for posting this video This really help me.

Keeping the phone between 20-80% is actually counterintuitive because you are giving up 40% of battery capacity already which is worse than a 2 year old battery The less you use of the battery the more wasted capacity and shorter overall battery life you have There is no real solution you either fully enjoy the battery in first year and cope with degradation after that or you can use only 70% and face the reduced battery effect immediately Dont forget you can always replace your battery after 16 months or so

@vikrraal
@vikrraal 3 года назад
The point is if you wish to use your battery's full capacity when required after a year of purchase at that time you will feel that the battery has degraded. If you can manage your entire day with 30-80% battery life cycle then why charge it till 100% and degrade the longevity ? When I know I may not be able to charge my phone while being on a trip or vacation or when I know I will need more juice as I am attending a party and I will have to click more photos and videos, then I charge it 100% and use my battery's full potential like it's the day One of purchase even after 2 years.
@vikrraal
@vikrraal 3 года назад
@Milton Keenes I agree with you. But most of the mobiles do not have 5000 mah battery. And 5000 mah battery also means 200gm + weight which is bulky and not very handy to use. That's why most of the manufacturers stay at around 4k-4500mah max and after 2 years of usage the SOT degrades to 3-4hrs.

You had to push the cable in really hard to get the phone to detect it was connected, and then would charge, but wouldn't fast charge, and the cable would only work when plugged in one way up, if you flipped it over it wouldn't detect anything. Quick charging risk to battery wear is overrated. Let's say, a 65W 0-80 charge is likely to get the battery to around 42°C tops, a 30W one would go something like 37°C. To a 100 percent temperature will actually decrease in both situations due to how charging has to be done. And they stay at this elevated temperature for just a very short period during it's lifespan. But about charging it to 100 percent only when necessary, it's good advice.

Phones today are all smart they manage the charging and when it is at 100% it stops my phone does have that charge to only 80% but looking into this it might add few days of battery during its entire life, I don't think that it is worth 20% of your batteries charge. The best thing you can do is to try and never let your battery die that is really hard on them everything else just let the phone handle it.

You charge till 100% when you really need it or go outside like for a vacation or something. I am easily able to spend my day in office by charging from 20 to 80%. If this way I can elongate my phone's battery health and can actually use it's full potential when I need it during trips/vacations then why not. On Android devices you can even root it and install third party apps which stops charging when it reaches 80% or you can customize it.

I would love not to charge the phone at 1% life if Google Pixels put decent sized batteries in the phone; my Pixel 3 dies after 2 hours of use. And yeah, max charge issue could be solved with smart charging, I agree. I shouldn't have to babysit my phone just because I put it to charge when I go to bed. That's a manufacturer issue to solve, not something the consumer has to actively manage for battery longevity.
@micahjohnson9184
@micahjohnson9184 3 года назад
Yeah a lot of the issues could be fixed with smart charging! And I know sucks right! the premium ones aren't the greatest with battery I got the 3a and it gets me through the day fine doesn't push the phone very hard having a lower tier chipset although if you're really struggling you might want to try the software feature extreme battery saver it should add like a day or two of battery. Also the newer pixels like the 4a, 4a 5G, and 5 have Adaptive Charging so hopefully that helps with longevity a bit and I would love to see it come to 3, 3 xl, and 3a, 3a xl when Android 12 rolls around. Google finally got in the swing of things with sticking to the basics and do it good hopefully they keep it that way 🤔
@RojSlade
@RojSlade 3 года назад
@@micahjohnson9184 It's sad really. Would be fine with losing the headphone jack if it had a bigger battery. The Pixel line would be perfect phones if it weren't for the battery life. I went from a Samsung Galaxy S6 Active with a huge battery and durable construction to an amazing software experience all around but with a mediocre hardware experience. So many great Android phones out there with such big compromises. I can't move away from the Pixel now either because the call screening built in is such a lifesaver that not having it is very close to deal breaker territory. But dat battery...sucks that I'd have to get a new Pixel just to improve the battery. Aside from that, I'd be willing to stay with the 3; love everything else about it.

I'd rather change the battery when needed, than babysitting the battery & not being able to get the best SOT from my phone. Battery literally starts to degrade after 1.5-2 years. These stuff is for super duper babysitters. Phones & chargers nowadays are programmed to stop charging your phone when its fully charged. Also like every phone slows down charging at the end to reduce heating.
