It's possible (nay the norm) to learn a foreign language and still be pretty oblivious to slang of that language. I can hold a conversation in a few different languages but if you asked me what the various slang words for 'cock' is in those languages I wouldn't be able to tell you.
I live in Ireland and in pubs every third person after hearing I´m originally from Estonia starts asking bout them twelve months and then it ends up with half of the pub spreading the word and laughing and pointing fingers at me..Not so funny for me anymore
@aznation97 yes, all the people around her did hear, what she said, but its made in estonia so they will understand what she says in estonian. it is obvious to you only when you're not an estonian.
he was providing the Estonian and English words in case anyone was interested in either. Don't sarcastically call someone dumb if you're just gonna make yourself look dumb.
People are related by marriage, adoption or blood. Yes Finnish people and Estonians can understand some of what is said in each language. The two languages are very different. It's like knowing Latin and understanding Spanish. There's a RU-vid video about it. Explains how some words are similar in both languages but have different meanings. Finnish tends to stick to Finnish words or borrows from Swedish. Estonian borrows from Germanic.
It was funny about the fourth or fifth time I saw a video on an unknowing Estonian girl pronouncing, "kaksteist kuud." Now it's getting kind of old. :|
