What you speak of is, indeed, one of the first and greatest deceptions. For those unaware and not sensing reality like some, let me explain. Katrina, I lived in the U K for 3 years in Suffolk whilst stationed at RAF Bentwaters and found no matter what Village, Town, Hamlet or City you find yourself in and you want to get a real feel of the very pulse of that location going to a local pub trying to avoid the ones visited by tourists and you find that it is a cultural immersion crash course into the local lore, history or what have you, particularly if you spend time speaking with the pensioners.That is exactly what I did when I returned to the U K on Holiday from the states a decade later. I of course visited The wonderful Salisbury on a tour of Stonehenge but while the bus load of tourists were muddling about I wandered off to a Pub to get the locals take on Stonehenge and left with so many variations 9f what it is and who built it my head was spinning. But What I did walk away from sailsbury with was that the locals at the pub all had a idea of their own as to what they believe Stonehenge is.
