This game looks mega fun ! A great in depth CAW is my biggest selling point along with fun gameplay obviously and this seems very promising . I cant wait to see more !!!!!
Ultra Pro Wrestling has me extremely excited on one word alone: Sandbox. I think any good wrestling game should be sandbox style, allowing you to edit/create things you wouldn't expect in your run of the mill 2K wwe game.
@@Money_1188 It's a small development team doing motion captures for more wrestlers than Ultra Pro Wrestling has in their whole roster and you really expect it to be done fast? The expectations people, who have zero experience in developing a game, have are just ridiculous as it can get.
Maybe ima sound like a spoiled brat when I say this but I’m losing interest in “Wrestling code” they’re showing more roster reveals than actual game play
Would rather a game be developed correctly than come out unfinished. Talk like this is part of the problem with modern gaming. Just be patient, 10 people are working on it.
I’m surprised people haven’t caught on that “modern no mercy” isn’t necessarily a good thing. Games have evolved in some good ways, if anything I want a modern here comes the pain
@@ultraexcalibur1728 None of them really even played like No Mercy to begin with. Like, two of the most high profile "modern No Mercy" games were TNA Impact and AEW Fight Forever, and neither of them felt like No Mercy at all. The biggest thing they had in common with eachother was the short stage-only entrances, which is one of No Mercy's shortcomings, if anything. It's one of the few things in No Mercy that was a direct downgrade from WrestleMania 2000.
I hate the fact that I don’t trust a single one of these “we’re giving the fans what they want” games to a) ever come out or b) even remotely deliver on their promises. Love him or hate him, Matt Dickie is the only guy to ever overdeliver on an indie-grade wrestling franchise, and there have been SO many “it’s the new No Mercy!” projects over the years that it’s practically satire at this point.
Came here to show my support and excitement of UPW. But Man Oh Man am I glad to see So many different options and styles coming out. Been waiting for this kind of wave for a Long Time.
Somedays I hope that the wrestling code actually releases. Ive lost hope as most of the contracts the roster signed their likeness to are probably going to expire before it actually comes out
The thing for me is, this game was announced over 4 years ago. It was announced before the PS5 and Series X even came out, and the most we've seen is some video of a wrestler stiffly walking around a ring. This game ain't coming out, and if it does I guarantee it isn't going to measure up.
Ultra pro wrestling genuinely have a potential to be a generational wrestling game due to it having a similar gameplay to No Mercy aswell as similar graphics but well-refined to it's predecessor.
It doesn’t have that potential to be generational. Maybe for old heads. But this generation wants to play with Roman, Cody , rock , Austin. Not just mid card wrestlers
So many wrestling legends! Such a great creation suite, a roster of great original wrestlers... inspired by a game engine that won Fighting Game Of The Year TWO YEARS CONSECUTIVELY! GENERATIONAL! 💪
Ultra Pro Wrestling is not only the modern day No Mercy... is ALSO THE TNA IMPACT! 2 VIDEOGAME... THE SIX SIDED RING IS IN... FINALLY WE CAN CROSS THE LINE AND RELIVE THE LEGEND WITH SIX SIDES WHO HAVE CHANGE THE PRO WRESTLING HISTORY
Having a choice for a six sided ring is awesome and having a more robust version of universe mode would fantastic…But speaking of 2k…It would be nice to bring back the ability to do aerial finisher’s onto tables and off ladders..Also add more weapons moves..basements dropkick with chair, drop toe hold into chair, Chair assisted moonsault etc.
The Wrestling Code is the one that's the most worrying. I've been following it since they started and at this point its starting to feel like vaporware. They've been adding a crazy number of wrestlers to the roster for years now to the point where they're now adding completely random people (Hip Hop Gamer LOL), yet we have yet to see any real match gameplay, and the King Kong Bundy footage we did get looked *very* sketchy.
Rag doll physics is the future of wrestling games. A physics based selling system that can be tweaked depending on the weight of the character but also customizable so some wrestlers ragdoll more than others. Imagine knockout finishers like the super kick, but they ragdoll like ufc 2 when they get knocked out.
😂 ikr ? Of course it's going to look like that cuz it needs polished hopefully when released it's still there but better lol not that it matters to me anyway but ya lol
That Phase 2 women's wrestling game peeked my curiosity. The goal being into the story building aspect rather than putting a show for a show is interesting. Wrestle Story is another one I'm waiting on to see what it can be able. I just hope it won't be Sweet Baby Inc. adjacent... I'm glad to see that BBLL is being worked on relentlessly. Haven't seen much before your copy. 4 new luchadores, tag team, battle royale, and cage matches... I think we could expect 4 new guys and maybe some sort of story premise for the next update. At least I'd like to. TWC... I mean, I can't wait for it to come out, but with not many updates, the waiting game is getting harder to play, I'll admit. And I'm one of those who was hyped for it day one. Though thankfully, there's UPW hype taking over, lol. As for CPW, it's updating frequently, which is a plus but, IDK... I mean, it does have the potential to be up there with Wrestling Empire, if done right, long term. Neckbreaker is another one I'm interested in. All in all, lots of games to expect, trying to break the WWE 2K monopoly that has been ruling unequivocally for years and I'm all for it.
and i can tell you i spoke to a dev about the wrestling code and he said they aim to give players complete customize freedom meaning no locked moves to certain conditions
Did you know that you can chokeslam someone off of the hell in the cell in the wrestlemania 13 arena and they land in the crowd, you can then dive off the cell and land on your opponent in the crowd
Ultra violence is a great concept, neckbreaker looks good just has to be on consoles, ultra pro wrestling looks fun and the wrestling code has potential. Whoever releases will make tons of money if they do it rights
Amazing! I remember being a teenager and being sooooo amped up for No Mercy to come out after WCW VS THE WORLD, WCWAND NWO WORLD TOUR, WRESTLEMANIA2000……. It was the best time for Wrestling games. AKI had it down pact, perfect.
Does anyone remember BackBreaker. The football game 505 put out about 15 years ago. Wasn’t ideal but I loved the physics and put hours in that game. NeckBreaker has the game vibe, feel and physics and it’s so exciting 🎉
I'm surprised badly anyone is taking about this. Like, it's a wrestling game all about women in wrestling, but let's just make EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM absolutely STACKED with DDDs, even the ref
Great catchup on the state of wrestling video games. Half of these I haven't heard of and while they all aren't my cup of tea it's great to see so many talented people explore and expand on professional wrestling.
I honestly think the wrestling code will end up never coming out, ten people developing a game in there spare time with a roster the size they have is basically a disaster waiting to happen.
Imagine a game mixed with the Wrestling Code and Neckbreaker would be sick. They should combine after each game comes out just to make one game or more
You said that The Wrestling Code had no backing right? Is it possible for AEW to potentially fund TWC and turn out into their own video game? They could keep everything that's in the TWC, but add their roster and AEW branding. Can that realistically happen?
The last wrestling game I was excited for was Fire Pro Wrestling World for continuing the Fire Pro legacy for 35 years now. Ultra Pro Wrestling is the only wrestling game I am excited for now. Not just the return of the AKI engine, but an evolved version of it not hamstrung by the technical limitations of the N64.
Lol the wrestling code. I'm convinced that game is just an excuse for some fans to meet wrestlers they like. I know games take a while to be developed but this one has been in development for years and years and all they ever seem to do is announce more wrestlers
I hope the WWE 2K25 will remain the match list like WWE 2K24: Ambulance Match, Casket Match, Special Referee Guest. For WWE 2K25 new match is Punjabi Prison Match, Buried Alive & Inferno Match. I'm surprised you didn't mention TEW IX and Pro Wrestling Sim, as they're both management-based! The latter still being in development/Early Access on Steam, the former having a mod/database being created called "RWC IX" for real wrestlers/companies. In the meantime, I'm glad to see Steve Mason's game still making progress! Glad it's on Steam now, can't wait for it to release.
Neckbreaker is the only interesting one and shows what the WWE 2K series could have become if there would have been any pressure to be more innovative and make use of modern technology.
Neckbreaker looks fun as hell. Hopefully it comes to PS5. Really hyped for Ultra Pro too, and hopefully The Wrestling Code (if it comes to consoles) and the Ultra Violence one
High Dives looks like a game which was comissioned by wrestling / stunt company P.O.R. They only need to put a bus and a car into the yard of the game and it's perfect. :)
