This is exactly the kind of list I'm here for - and kicking things off with Potion Permit is a FANTASTIC choice. :D I love Part Time UFO, and New Pokemon Snap is an inspired choice. Amazing list!!
Have been playing “Dave the Diver”, still progressing through the story, but I think anyone can have fun just going diving and fishing and not worrying about progression. This is one of the few games I haven’t been able to put down. “Dora Romantik” is a beautiful puzzle game where you place tiles onto the board to make a landscape. It’s relaxing, fun and pretty to look at. I am still trying to unlock some pieces. Definitely worth a look if you are into puzzles.
Yes Potion Permit! I want more life sim games like that one, where there's either no farming, or the focus isn't on farming. That's why I like the My Time series, as there's some farming you can do, but it's pretty much entirely optional and not this big involved system.
Definitely agree with Potion Permit, the game seems really polished to me, it does what it tries to do perfectly. And i really enjoy Dave the Diver, i think it'll be my favorite game this year! :) the music is amazing I have also been planning to get Dorfromantik, looks pretty cozy to me.
I like games with a story going on. Not that much of a cozy gamer myself, but fron time to time i like to pick some. Spirittea definitely grab my attention, also Dave the diver because it kinda reminds me of Dinner dash for some reason.
Thanks for the another great list Pat! I'm also a cozy game lover that isn't really into farming. I haven't played many of them, but between watching you and Payton play most of them, I can vouch for their greatness haha. House Flipper is one that I still haven't picked up, despite being really interested in it. I guess it's mainly because it's been described as a game that should be played on PC, and I'm not really a PC gamer. Although, I have played New Pokemon Snap, and I feel that it is so underrated!! It's so good! I had an incredible amount of fun with it, and the long wait for a Pokemon Snap sequel was so worth it with this game. I also don't think their there's ever been a prettier Pokemon game.
Some of my favorites: Frog detective Gorogoa Firewatch Spiritfarer (there technically are some crops but it's not a farming game I promise!) Lil gator game Old man's journey A castle full of cats A short hike
Loving Spirittea, and they are coming up with really cool updates and new content as far as I could in their Discord channel. Just downloaded the Demo of Dave The Diver and seems pretty nice, might get it but lacking time to play so many games. I would like to add to your list. Cozy Grove! No farming at all and it’s so slow pace and wholesome (Cozy Grove 2 is coming out next year btw). :))
Thank you. I am terrible at farming games the time restrictions are terrible and it gives me anxiety. I enjoy "cozy grove" no farming that I came across this far.
I'm glad you featured Garden Story, because it's such an incredible game! I've actually only played a few of these, so it'll be nice to check out the ones I haven't played it.
I bought lemon cake a couple of months ago when it was on sale. It’s actually quite fun. I’ve almost completed it, But I have not played it for a while because I was distracted by other things.
Calico is cat cafe based story its a short game with some level of replay ability it has cute animals character customization no farming and the cooking is optional to a degree. You explore a cutesy village and choose animals for your cat cafe. Also coffee talk is rpg barista game its cute
unpacking is one of my favorite games ever. i wish there was more even though i haven't finished it yet. i like it and i dont like pixel art games so that means it s really good!
I have house flipper and all the DLCs and I love that .I have also played unpacking which I also liked but it was a pretty short game. I also wish there were more stories to do. So I can play it more. Based on your video today I think I'll try Lemon cake and Pokemon snap and maybe Dave the diver. Thanks for the video😊
Whos gonna tell him there actually is farming in Dave the Diver?? lol Fish farming and plant farming! Although it pretty much takes care of itself or you could ignore it so I don't see it being a problem on the list cause its a great game that more ppl should know about.
Apparently you do not understand the word farming. Having played computer games before your parents reached puberty, going out in the game and gathering materials is FARMING
I hear you on the innocent fish killing. I can’t play Dave the diver. I have Pokémon Snap and I’m not a Pokémon player but you don’t have to be one to like snap.
I love Potion Permit! It's such a great game and the healing aspect of it makes a nice change from farming. I know they just did an update for it as well, so I'm hoping they will keep adding even more too! I want marriage! SpiritTea is on my to buy list for sure, it looks sooo good! And as a big fan of Spirited Away how can I not like it?!
Unpacking was fun (LOL I had no idea about the toaster bathtub sticker), I wish it was a little longer, cause the story to me ended kinda abruptly Lemon Cake is a lot of fun to play (similar to Diner Dash, but I like the art style better) and Snap is one of my all time favorites on Switch
Good Pizza, Great Pizza is a fun little management game, Gris is excellent and beautiful as well. I also find Suika Game to be pretty cozy. This was a great list too.
Thanks for sharing, love your recommendations! Spiritea and Potion Permit is on my playlist (PP phone version is to be out soon), and I’m playing Dave the Diver. I’m at the very beginning of the game, not good at catching fish, so it gives me a bit of stress of not getting enough ingredients for the restaurant 😅.
Forager & possibly My Little Universe are good picks as well. Playing MLU in handheld is pretty relaxing but for some reason playing it on XR glasses nearly puts me to sleep.😅
Y'all should check out the last campfire. Super cozy and pretty. Also lovely narration (it's not constant story). Adventure puzzle type of game I'd say.
My personal favorite cozy game on Switch is Sky: Children of the Light. No farming, just flying around and collecting the in game currency that you can invest into your friendships with other players, or spend it on adorable cosmetics. It's massively multiplayer, but social interactions are mostly carried out through charades. It's incredibly relaxing, and it's free.
So many games on this list I LOVE (Unpacking, House Flipper, A Little to the Left), which is definitely encouraging me to try some of these out! I do agree that HF is best on the PC version, just for the mods in the Steam Workshop alone. From what I've seen HF2 is gonna have a wide enough range of furniture items that mods won't be necessary but HF1 really benefits from the fanmade stuff.
I like Dave the Diver as a Game but honestly I won't support the studio behind it. There responsible for nearly destroying a little studio that made the game "Dank and Darker". If you're interested I highly recommend watching Videos to this theme and maby consider just for this one game to download it elsewhere and not out of a shop....
Okay, I saw Unpacking in the thumbnail and had to come advocate. I LOVED Unpacking!! It’s not really long, I finished it in a couple sittings while in bed. But it’s SO relaxing, especially for us Type A people. And, if you pay attention to the houses, rooms, and items that you’re unpacking, you uncover a simple yet endearing storyline.
great video, Pat! so many of these are games I haven't yet heard of but apply really well to my interests, so I'm glad youre sharing them. also, I love that you included one unreleased game to look forward to!!!
