Dude, during my deployment, I came across some absolutely insane marijuana and opium farms. I managed to capture some fantastic photos of them! 😂 Edit: Funny thing is, I didn't even realize it was in India. I was still watching the Afghanistan segment when I read your comment.

Yep, and it seems like it's usually the superstitious Chinese that are driving most of these ecological disasters and since they've become so wealthy it's exacerbated the problem as now they can afford to indulge their silliness. Tiger bones give you morning wood! Come on guys,grow up. All it does is contribute to a lack of diversity that's already shrinking at the fastest rate since the last baseball hit this planet.

Burning fossil fuel cause the atmosphere to change, that’s more the risk. Instead of collecting it and refine it again.

Sadly when money is hard to come by safety is usually one of the first things that gets compromised to lower the costs. A lot of these also seem to be in places where they don't have very good workers rights, so the people organising these businesses can get away with paying so little for people to go risk their lives, even when the product is worth more than enough to pay decent wages and still be profitable.

The irony of Mahmoud saying “We are sacrificing ourselves to feed our children!” yet everything they are all doing refining the crude oil is contaminated and toxic and is going to end up killing them and their children! Mahmoud also says when he and his family arrived in Tarin in 2012 there was nothing there it was barren, yet the narrator displays the satellite images from 2011 showing the area of Tarin was covered in orchards growing, then several years later the land is black, and barren & marked by refineries. So it seems Mohmoud isn't being truthful about Tarin being barren and having nothing there, and he is one of the people that has caused the area of Tarin to be in the contaminated state that it is in now because of the way they've been refining the oil! Life is never simple, life is hard and most everyone has their own shity hand dealt!

@43:53 Yeah that's ridiculous the younger stays at home making babies and sends the old woman off to pay for her needs.... How can she stand to see that old lady hurt and have to support her young self.... Man they ain't goin without a tv though, so they ain't that poor. She needs to grow up alot, disgusting way to treat the old. The old lady should be at home tending to the child, the young momma needs to work if she couldn't keep a man to do so for her, it shouldn't be the older woman's job to take care of the younger and her baby too. Disgusts me that the momman says she "pities" that the other woman is old and still has to work, yeah you should not want taken care of by a woman that really shouldn't have to even take care of herself anymore in life.... Reminds me of my Wife's brother using his momma to work so he don't have to.

Datri is busting her ass feeding her son and his wife AND their child. Why the hell doesn't her sons wife work while Datri stays home to care of the children? that pisses me off. Got this sweet hard working old lady who has all these health problems working in poor conditions to gather tiny bits of metal so that she can earn 3 dollars a day and she is still so upbeat and positive about it, which i love about her. I honestly think Datri is one of the most amazing human beings i've ever seen. I just dont understand this world.

God , for that family to have no idea what the debt still is after 23 yrs, and that would mean they could face potential violence for asking questions, this is absolute Slavery, the Government needs to send workers to sought out what is owed by these familys and see details of the debt and follow up with the hospital how much it was, get a total that is owed( but check it out to make sure it hasnt been inflated) and a end date as to when it will be finalised and debt paid off.
