In this webinar, Dr. James White discusses the Rhizophagy cycle, where plants absorb soil microbes for nutrients. He advocates for biological agriculture, emphasizing its benefits for nutrient-rich crops and the environment. The discussion covers plant-microbe interactions and the symbiotic relationship between plants, bacteria, and algae.

This is so mind boggling and life changing knowledge for me

I am 63. I have a degree in Horticulture. When we took soils science at the university of Georgia. We had the Brady soil science text book. I think it had maybe 3 pages on soil microorganisms. The only thing that was known was the bacteria that helps legumes make nitrogen. No one could give any answer how a forrest that had no "known" nitrogen fixers were so green. I am really glad y'all are getting around to looking at this. Modern agriculture is so destructive and expensive and honestly really stupid! Hope we can change.....

Also, Protozoa eat approx 10,000 bacteria daily, but eject substantial amounts of N, bac feeding nematodes are similar

One thing I think is being over looked is the soil balance of all nutrients. Some are needed in small amounts and others in larger amounts. Focus on feeding the biology so that they thrive and not survive and the soil is more productive. One nutrient that was being harvested by the plants from the air is Sulfur and now that level has been reduced and the Sulfur in the soils are now reduced thus leaving the biology short as they need it for their own structure, immunity, etc. Look at feeding the soil biology minerals like sulfur, boron, etc that are low and the biology will respond. Healthy biology will produce a healthier crop. When you can eliminate the chemicals the soil biology will improve and become healthier.

How much of a plant's nutrition is from eating/farming bacteria by rhizophagy compared to diffusion from the soil water solution?

It could be a very significant fraction if a sterile plant dies, but one with microbes thrives.
