What is still not talked about enough with number 7 is that back then, the cobra was actually a really protected finisher. People really will look at us crazy (especially in hindsight), but that one fact is the reason why that cobra was an actual believable false finish back then during that match, despite how stupid that decision would've been. I might by wrong but i think D bry was the first man to ever kick out of the cobra too, which really sells it Edit: god there’s a lot of typos in this, I’m too tired rn
IIRC Santino debuted the Cobra as a signature move on an episode of WWE Superstars or something, with his opponent kicking out. But yeah, I think D-Bry is the only person to kick out of it after he used it as a finisher
@@kev1nnoI think the slight difference that santino himself said was Bryan was the only one to kick out when he used the puppet (somehow it made all the difference 😂😂)
Didn't he have something like a 98% win rate with it back then? The elimination chamber being what dropped it from 100% Best sell still goes to JTG 😂 he knew that was his last match and just said fuck it and sold like he had just been shocked.
I was there in 2010 for the Chamber show and between Taker catching fire (literally), Punk's sermon in the middle of the match, to Shawn coming in and setting up the rematch for Mania, probably my favorite chamber match ever.
Fun fact: The 'Boss N Hug connection' winning the inaugural Womens Tag Team Championship marks the only time Bayley has ever won inside the confines of steel; that includes Steel Cage, Hell in A Cell and WarGames.
The 2012 World Heavyweight championship really was perfectly booked, as a massive Santino Marella fan in my first year as a wrestling fan, I genuinely thought he was going to beat Bryan that night. Wyatt winning the WWE championship in 2017 was also a lovely moment
He was legitimately getting the biggest reactions of the night and I maintain that Santino could've had an entertaining short run as WHC with him dropping the belt to Sheamus at Mania in a triple threat with Bryan. Santino as world champion is how WWE should have booked Jinder winning the championship. Present them as an underdog babyface that acknowledge how they're not as good as the regular main eventers and only overcome it with heart, hard work and (most importantly) it ends within 90 days. Comedy midcarders can make excellent the occasional main eventer as long as it's done right.
Best part about getting older as a wrestling fan is you really learn more about the industry, like I hated Santino as a kid, these days tho, so much live and respect for the guy 🤣
I love the storytelling of kofi kingston in the elimination chamber , it was great . I would love for austin theory to get the same treatment in future
Don't forget "Kofi-mania" only happened because the guy he eventually replaced got injured before the match took place, so if that never happened, there'd be no "Kofi-mania". 😂
Since Sami, Gunther/Walter and Nakamura are out of the title picture, Drew is the only suitable candidate to dethrone Seth at Wrestlemania, as for Gunther/Walter - I want a certain Irishman to come back and win the IC title.
Well i actually thought shayna winning was a good decision, but it was terribly booked. Shayna entering 4th was a stupid decision. Plus the fact that the final sequence lasted like 1 minute after wasting 4 minutes for hype. This doesnt even help the fact that becky would retain the title at covidmania via a roll up.
I also liked the Goldberg chamber, it's one of the most destructive 10 minutes or so of wrestling I've seen, breaks 2 chambers, destroys everyone. The thing that brings it down is that terrible decision to have Trips hit him with the sledgehammer and win.
Edge losing his world title in one Elimination Chamber, then taking someone spot in the other world title chamber and win it, was such a brilliant move and I loved it.
I think they should move the elimination chamber to a different time in the year due to the fact that they tell you who is going to be competing at wrestlemania before the chamber even happens, spoiling the outcome
I like how the Shayna Baszler thing happened again this past year, Shayna was the first person to submit Rhonda Rousey and it was supposed to put her over...but all anyone could talk about was how boring/a bad idea the match was and she's in the tag division again. Smh
Daniel Bryan's first World championship run wasn't that good. Great moment when he won, the santino moment, and the shock of the short match at mania 28. But to say it would have ended a great run is generous.
I hope that Edges cash-in on Cena isnt here Only because it’s not actually part of the chamber because if that not the reasoning the whole list is null and void lol
Kofi should have never won and should have never been champ. His reign devalued the belt. He is, and always will be, midcard/tag team level at best. I laughed out loud when he (rightfully) lost to Lesnar in seconds.
