For the Diane question, both answers could be right. Diane fought her way through the horde until she realized David didn’t survive his being torn apart. So she climbed the tree & waited. However, I think she did get bit while swinging the leg, so she ended up dying in the tree. And her epilogue is being conveyed by her undead brain which hasn’t fully realized that she died up there. Could be the reason why she decided to eat the leg instead of climbing down.
As its been mentioned; cockneys vs zombies is another great british zombie film. It also has the same sort of undeds, meaning it could be seen as a prequel to Shaun!
"Who doesn't know the difference between 'Sean' and 'seen', is that a thing?" Yes. I have 43 years' worth of experience that says yes, it is very very much a thing.
Just a slight correction in regards to the music poster. Shauns DJ name was Shaun "Smiley" Riley. General and Si Begg are two entirely different people. Si Begg is actually a fellow dj and producer.
"When the Whistle Blows" that Chris Martin appeared in was a show-within-a-show from the sitcom Extras that mocked poor sitcom tropes, which included stunt casting.
This was the comment I was looking for lol but I wouldn't necessarily say it's cockney slang because it's the way we grew up using it in the south west of the uk
I love that Shaun of the Dead teases you with the reason, but doesn't give it and just has lots of hints as a way to reference a load of other zombie movies. Also, I agree with Edgar Wright that "Shawn of the Dead" is too much of a spoof title, and the "Shaun" version works. In fact I was only today years old when I realised it could have been spelt Shawn. And from my own survey of friends and acquaintances Shaun is ahead of Shawn.
Diane is one of my favorite characters in the movie, she is so damn funny and adorable. That I will die on this hill to say she survived and keeps in touch.
Love the cornetto trilogy. Can't wait to see Edgar Wright take on The Running Man and 28 Years Later which is currently filming. A big fan of both, thought I'd toss that in there.
For any fans of zombies and British humour, there's a quality film called Cockneys vs Zombies, well worth a watch. That's clearly a picture of Bill Nighy by the way.
Good to see *someone* mention it! Since its set in britain with the same sort of undead, its not a reach to say it might as well be a prequel to Shaun of the Ded!
I have always assumed that SHAUN what's going on concurrently with an updated version of the Romero films... And that whatever caused the Romero outbreak was also causing SHAUN itself.
I always thought the movie "Paul" starring Pegg and Frost as buddies who meet an alien named Paul, was from the same universe as Spaced, Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz and The World's End.
When I started learning english in Oakville Ontario coming from Montreal city, I use to call my first boss Deen if spoken while he wrote it Dean. For me, Don would of been the way to spell it but I learned since then. So I can understand that for zombie movies you are looking at a larger audience and I understand not using Sean. For Shawn tho, I got nothing hahaha ! Thanks for your video !
if you plan on making a French Extreme or just High Tension UQ video i have one, in High Tension, we all know the twist, Alex and Marie get to Alex`s parents' farmhouse in a red car, where does the van come from?
I hope you don't get as worked up about everything as you did the Shaun thing,. Excellent video. Love the Cornetto Trilogy. Hot Fuzz is actually my most frequent watch.
No it's not. I live in the UK, my brother is named Sean, nobody pronounces it that way. It's a meme that started years ago around Sean Bean, scene sounds like bean so it sounded amusing to say scene bean.
The answer to the cause is hidden in the radio broadcast in Lester's shop, from what i rememeber it's in hindi and confirms the crashed satellite theory
I’m in the camp of people who think that Harry Cooper was right. However, Ed is an idiot. He only thinks ahead when it comes to drinking. He did know about the cellar, but he didn’t think about until they were literally laying on top of the door
Hmm. The use of Dangerous... It could have been something on the satellite, that stuff could have had a reaction on re-entry. OH. Wait. Maybe that drifted down and settled into the crops WHICH THEN reacted to the GMOs. So it could have been multiple of the possible causes. (: The hazmat's job could have been just looking at residue left by some of the close to one of the main locations. Maybe even a LIVE person who died and resurrect being patient zero. (:
One minor correction: Gatiss is pronounced 'gay-tiss', which I only know from being corrected in one of my own videos. Nearly corrected to say it was Reece Shearsmith, as he was on-screen, but Gatiss did provide a voice-over and I was just confused!
I dunno.... I don't know if thats a shelf of people Shaun lost. It would not be out of place to have a photo of your mom and dad in your house on a shelf, dead or not... if thats the case it's just a shelf with pics on it.
if it were just a shelf of framed photos of people he knew, it'd be weird for one of them to be of a specific girl that isn't the one he has an on-off relationship and none of his best friend or other acquaintances
Shaun is English, Sean is Irish, as the above poster said Sion is Welsh (but is pronounced differently) then there's just various spellings with a W and a W with an E on the end, and no, nothing wrong with that spelling it's names like Siobhan that annoys me, that's Siobhan see oh bhaan, how f is that Shivawn or shivaun or even shivaugn lol
Siobhan is spelled that way because in Gaelic Celtic languages the bh is a v sound Hence Siobhan I know Scottish gàidhlig that’s why know Same with dh more of a g ish sound
Marmite is also popular in New Zealand and Australia. It's actually pretty good if you don't use too much. It's kind of like A1. You want just a bit because if you use too much, like more than a drop, it's all you'll taste.
@@Heaziei'm sorry you're so dense you can't decipher a joke from a normal sentence and require a tone to figure it out my condolences to your family for dealing with someone with a disability like yours.
That’s actually a drumstick that I’m eating in the video. They’re a little different than Cornetto’s, though, and i think the closest comparison here is Nutty Buddys
@@movietimelines we have a chewy sweet here in the UK called a drumstick josh, like a milk and raspberry flavour thing on a small paper stick. We do also have an ice-cream similar to your drumsticks too but I don't think a brand name type probably just a store make, cornettos aren't fully encased in chocolate, which I'm sure you know because you always impress me with your UK knowledge Edit: ps hope the jobs going well
