Look I'm not one for planets aligning and Mercury being in retrograde but I was born on December 12th and The Wolfman is probably my favourite Universal monster movie and I choose to both be surprised and not shocked in the slightest at this revelation
Some people asked. But If that was the thing plan. Why didn,t the thing just run away in the first place instead of confronting the group? Yes It would freeze and sleep faster but the Humans in the station would still have Gasoline, Wood and other stuff to survive longer then the thing who would be sleeping. Risking to become unharmfulwhile there are still humans around is just Stupid. Even after they blow everything up. They would still last longer then the thing who try to leave outside the station because of the heat caused by the explosions.
actually, pure oxygen would not be used for deeper dives. Oxygen is toxid to breathe under preasure, so at about 8-10 meters(or about 1 atmosphere) and below, the diver would die if breathing pure oxygen. For deep dives they would use other inert gasses mixtures e.g. with Helium 🙂
I think the fanon question of intelligence is the most interesting thing here, at least from a purely scientific perspective. On the one hand, intelligence needs mass, and while I agree that it most likely is hiveminded; this would need a local nexus or source, since receiving commands from light years away isn't exactly a feasible method of communication and control. However, intelligence in animals on Earth correlates to brain mass/body mass, meaning if it gained more mass but only focused on replication, it shouldn't really get that much smarter as it would just be keeping the same ratio. This is of course why the Flood in Halo, a very similar being if we believe it is a hivemind, builds graveminds, huge piles of biomass for the sole purpose of calculation and thought, allowing the intelligence to increase exponentially with every assimilation, and the point before this is why sometimes isolated pockets of it build their own proto graveminds to control them with the main one out of contact. So I could see it having more intellectual capacity as it gathers more mass, but unless it chooses to actually use it that way by forming into a big ol' brain, it most likely retains a roughly similar level of intelligence regardless of its total accessible biomass.
I've seen six out of the 10 of these movies. The giant spider invasion tarantula the deadly cargo Kingdom of the spiders, big ass spider, eight legged freaks, and of course arachnophobia. Out of these movies oh that's a tough one I'll say my two least favorite or the giant spider invasion and the deadly cargo. Even though the giant spider invasion is kind of comical it would have to be at the bottom of my list the other four movies love watching them can't get enough of them.
Out of this set of movies the only two I know of and have seen are hold that Ghost and The wolfman. If I had to choose that's a tough one I love them both so I'm going to say it's a tie
I very rarely jumped while watching horror movies, but that damn clown from the original... Even during rewatches, when I KNEW it was coming, I would still freaking jump! Guess I got a touch of coulrophobia too.
The original released when VCRs made it possible for the public to control their own content programing and break free of The Big Three networks, cable tv and theaters. The film industry began churning out films that demonized television and tv sets. Thats why the dad shoves the tv out of the hotel room at the end.
I remember when Poltergeist 3 came out that there was a rumor you can see Heather O'Rourke running in the far background of the garage scene. A scene that was supposedly filmed after she had died.
Something happened towards the late 80s were the Poltergiest and Nightmare on Elm Street movies (and other franchises too) became more "fantasy-action" than horror. They stopped being scary, instead you just marveled at the next level special effects. C'mon, there was nothing scary about Freddy vs. Jason. That was a sci-fi action film.
Sort of. They had finished filming all of his scenes, but he died before post production, so he wasn’t present for any audio dubbing. But his death happened after production wrapped.
Huh. I can’t find any sources on that. Everything just says that production was complete and only post was left to go. Do you know where that information is from?
I saw a clip an alternate ending to part 3, and it shows the whole family embracing and the daughter holding the boyfriend. I had always wondered why he wasn't included.
I'm still yet to find another film, that terrifies me more, than Poltergeist used to!! Still the scariest movie ever, for me! Well, the Entity also scared me just as bad as Poltergeist, so let me change that & say that i haven't found another film, as terrifying for me, as Poltergeist & the Entity. My mom loved the Poltergeist films & was the one who introduced me to them. 2 is definitely hugely underrated! For me, that white furry thing growling at the mom, Diane, in the hallway scene, near the end, was & still is more terrifying to me, than the clown. Tbh, the clown never scared me, but that white furry thing, scarred me, for many years. So did the corpses, popping up out of the ground, at the end. I wonder if those actually were real corpses, as Jobeth Williams claimed. 3rd movie is definitely a fun watch, for me. The remake however, dull as hell, & not worth a rewatch, as far as I'm concerned. Poltergeist is a true classic, that should've never been remade to begin with.
@scottneill1187, different people find different things to be scary. It's not something that's fact, it's more tailored to people's personalities. Some stuff that will terrify a majority of people will not be scary at all, to certain others. Like for instance, the Exorcist doesn't truly scare me, but I can understand why it scared & scarred so many other people. My mom being one of those people.
I’ve only just got into what I would call pure horror, movies like Alien and The Thing always appealed to me through the lens of sci-fi. Horror often used to seem cheesy to me. I only saw the first one about 3 weeks ago and loved it. As wild as the events were, the people going through that story always felt real. Brilliant movie.
@@scottneil1187 i watched the original exorcist at the cinema last Halloween. That was awesome, also enjoyed Hellraiser and Candyman. I’m still expanding my repertoire.
