Ahhhhh I am so happy for how this turned out! We vibe so much and I loved working with you. Cheers to many more 💖 thank you for all the support, Josh✨!
Bubbles, I see you on allll of the wholesome games videos! You have great taste hehe. Lovely to hear you on this video and good luck in your success!! =)
Oof you're killing me with that. I want to play more than just pokemon and Zelda on switch but I don't want to wait or be locked out of the modding community
I know, I want it so bad! But I'm so excited that it exists anyway and I think we will get a release date soon! I actually really think they will show it and give us a release date announcement at E3! Fingers crossed. Also, Happy Birthday!
Oh wow! I rarely see Sunny Side being mentioned in videos like this. Thank you so much for showing it to more people. I’m so excited for that and Coral Island
So glad this game was mentioned! I don't ever see it included on lists. Came across it on Kickstarter and it looks awesome. First farming sim game I've seen that is going to give marriage candidates sexual preferences, rather than either making them all hetero or player-sexual. I am very interested to see how this turns out. I like player-sexual in farm sims because it doesn't limit your choices, but hopefully they can pull off some very interesting characters.
I pledged to Farm Folks, Ova Magica and Sunny Side on Kickstarter and I'm so excited for all the great content to come! I also hope they don't take too long to localize and release Rune Factory 5 for the rest of the world.
My Time At Sandrock shoukd def be in this video too, it’s not a lot of farming but you can raise animals, get to know the townspeople and get married. It's coming out this year :D It also has ruins with fighting. It's a prequel of My Time At Portia I believe which is on switch. It had issues but it was fixed so now it runs smoothly.
I loved My Time at Portia and I'm very excited for Sandrock too! 😄 It would definitely deserve a spot in this list, picking just 12 games was really hard!
@@JoshGamingGarden Love how farming games are growing larger now, I thought it was small but it's finally growing and I'm so happy people were inspired by Sos and SV to make their own unique farming games. Defiently my favorite genre to play🥰🥰 (And Acnh inspo too)
"My Time At Portia I believe which is on switch. It had issues but it was fixed so now it runs smoothly." uhh no, it certainly does not. it's the only farming game I've had to totally abandon on my Switch, even after a couple of patches it still runs terribly and takes eons to load and it seems the dev has abandoned it now, so no more patches. I'll certainly not buy another of their games.
@@8-bitsteve500 same, I had a whole dungeon not working the first time so I couldn’t exit, the hot-air balloons couldn’t be used cause it would freeze, I had some walls disappearing after playing for a few hours etc, I was so sad cause I loved the game so much lmao
I backed Coral Island on kickstarter and I'm so excited about all the publicity it's been getting, but I'm also really impressed by so many of these other games, especially Garden Story and Bear and Breakfast!
I thought I knew all of the upcoming farm sims, but you guys found a few I didn’t know about. Yay! I’m also watching for “One Lonely Outpost” early access in early 2022. Not sure if that’s for both PC and Switch though. Maybe it will be Steam only first. Anyway, thanks for keeping us all informed!!
My time at Sandrock will probably be amazing as well! It's a stand alone sequel to My time at Portia which is one of the best games in this genre I've ever played!
Wow I thought that coral island will come in 2023 on console but you made me happy when you said sometime in 2022 i hope it's early 2022 i cannot wait more and I cannot afford for a new pc !!maybe it will just come on switch on 2022
On their Kickstarter (and I went to double check to make sure I was remembering this correctly) they said they’re trying to have the console come out 6 months after the release of early access. And EA is scheduled for 2021 so we might get it in 2022!
It is difficult to pin point when the console release will be especially with the challenging times we are going through. But I really hope it is released sooner than later ✨
Hello, Josh! Thank you for this video! I absolutely adore this genre and being informed what to look out for is always fun! That said, some bad news; I am not sure where you got this from, but Farm Folks is deffinately NOT comming to switch, or any platform, this year and probably not the next, unless some magic is involved. It is suffering in development hell as the original devs are no longer working on it and the project got picked up by a new team. Not sure how much of the game the new team can salvage, but not much had been made to begin with, so they're years away from releasing this game, if they even ever get to releasing it at all.
@@MissBubbles I hope so too! I was a kickstarter backer way back in 2017 for it, so I've been waiting for a while :') better late than never, haha. Oh, but, Miss Bubbles, since you mentioned you liked pixel art games, may I suggest Sun Haven? I don't see much attention for this lovely looking farming game, eventhough it's so close to release! (has been pushed back a month, but it's okay) It's a fantasy farming game where you can play many different races and it supports co-op of up to 8 people! Maybe it's something up your alley? c: Edit: Oh! And maybe Snacko too! Another really cute pixel art farming game where you play as a kitty!
I like the concept behind Monster Harvester and the one I am most excited for is Kitaria Fables and it's co-op features so hopefully I can play with my brother. (Online if not that.) Thank you two for the beautiful video, it was very well put together and informative!
@@JoshGamingGarden @Miss Bubbles .Yes, It is available on Steam as "Remote Play" so I will try for it there as only 1 copy needs to be purchased though it may lag so I will be testing things with the feature now. If not I can always go for Nintendo Switch and just play it on that with him and extra controllers.
There are real gems there. I heard of Ova Magica from Wilder infact he is npc you can be in game depending on donation in kicktarter. Those blobs look like more decorative version of cute puni in Atelier Ryza 2. Sadly, the farming mechanics are simple like YSVIII. You put seeds in field they grow after a short time. These games are strictly RPG with focus on exploration. I'm looking out for RF5, Kitaria Fables, thinking about Monster Harvest. Sadly, I feel almost done with SoS PoOT it lacks contents previous SoS had. Even Doraemon had more gameplay even though felt like grind.
I just picked up a physical copy of Rune Factory 4 new for $14.00 on the switch. I'm really enjoying it and I'm excited that there's a new Rune Factory game.
I’d love to have a farming/life sim where there is fighting like in rune factory but reverse confessions like in my time at Portia (but please less bug heavy and more finished 🙈🙃) And the possibility to maybe work part time at stores or blacksmithing alchemy or something
May I recommend Kynseed to you? Its still in development and i dont know about the reverse confession, but the game includes the ability to open your own shops (a blacksmith being one of them) and spans over different generations of your own family and the townfolk.
I need all of these! GIMME ALL OF THEM NOW! I died at "Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be a grape?" LOL I love you Josh! Thanks for the vid I'll def pop over to her channel!
I already backed Ova Magicka. Will definitely look further in Kitaria Fables and Garden Paws. Thanks for the suggestions! I was surprised Hokko Life didn't make the cut though. It releases soon for early access and I am sooo excited for it.
save best for the last :) im waiting for coral island, which from my country Indonesia. and Trivia, the devs are from my beloved town Jogjakarta, which is a very cultural town (i think its the 3rd most well-know tourist destination by foreign tourists after Bali and Jakarta) and they still have countryside farms. i bet they'll do it culturally and realistically. the only suggestion i have to coral island is, if only they make the camera rotatable.
Very Interesting, since now I just play story of season pioneer of olive town and I upload in my channel every day and really inspired from this channel
OMG roots of pacha is gonna have irrigation?!?! That's news to me! And sunny side has goats I'm in love! You're comment about how scared we all were that rune factory was dead in 2012 really got me for a second, God that was such a rollercoaster time and back then we didn't know about natsumes little tantrums it wasn't for what 2 more years they finally went to court?
I'm definitely going to Pre-Order Coral Island and Sunny Side! I missed out on supporting both of those projects! My PC is more powerful than ever, so I want to buy some more cute farming games with same-sex marriages.
Yes! So happy that almost all the sim games coming out nowadays include same sex marriage as a matter of course! It makes titles like Harvest Moon seem really archaic for not doing so.
@@acedemi5229 I'm glad the developers of those titles understand that love is love. It makes the game feel welcoming to me, as I can simulate a life experience while exploring the game world. Harvest Moon and Rune Factory are archaic in that sense because they're stuck in the past. I don't know if Natsume will ever include same-sex romance in their two major franchises. If it hurts Natsume's bottom line, I'm sure we'll see same-sex romance in their future games.
Yooooooooo Garden Paws is coming to switch??? OMFG i got it on my pc and was completely head over heels with it. Can't believe i'd be able to play it on the go anytime soon :) thanks developer!!!
Awesome video! Added a few new games to my wishlist! Rune Factory's lack of same sex marriage made it a pass for me, unfortunately. Thankfully almost every other title that includes marriage includes same sex marriage! And Coral Island's diversity it amazing! Sun Haven is another title that could have been included in this list. It releases in June 2021 and it looks awesome! Farm sim + RPG + Monsters + Magic? Yes please!
Huh I also was introduced by HM64! Very nice! I've been curious about any coming to Switch! I don't have a PC and it really feels like most I've seen mentioned/brought up by people are PC games. 😿
I am really excited for rune factory 5 but its a shame it's japanese only first. Kitaria fables looks really interesting also. Might pick that up when it releases.
Thanks for the Video... I never know about Kitaria Fables before... and I really like that kind of graphic style... remind me of Doraemon Story of Season graphic. edit: wait a minute... Kitaria fables created by developer from my country 🤣🤣🤣 i'm ashamed why i did not know about it before...
I could be wrong but I’m pretty sure rune factory 5 is coming out worldwide and has the western releases coming out along side the Japanese releases. Could be wrong just as a reminder so if I am please let me know
Why is Sunny Side not out yet as its 2023 now Also freaking VRoid models are used in that game which I love as if it comes on pc you can use your own VRoid character or I hope that's the case
