This is sufferers music of the highest order. It is absolute perfection. The conscious lyrics, the singing, the harmonies, the arrangement, the instrumentation and the production cannot be faulted in anyway. Beautiful. I wish I could afford the 12" original
Blindfolded, leading out to the gallows trap, Never know the minute nor the hour the last drip of blood will drop. Blindfolded, leading out to the gallows trap, Never know when (no-no) brutality will ever stop. Some wicked think they are racing for the top And I know them have to get a drop Some are climbing up a sipple wall And I know them bound to get a fall Majority down and they fear no fall Majority down and I open each them to Yah call Thanks for higherregion for filling missing words. If someone can notice any mistakes feel free to correct them.
It's not "steeple wall". It's "sipple wall". Sipple is Jamaican English for "slippery". Hence Max Romeo's lyric in his "War Inna Babylon" where he says "It sipple out deh" (it's slippery [treacherous] out there).
