I hope he is doing these things because he wants to do them. I can definitely see a smart kid getting bored by public K-12 education; it's unfortunate they can't meet his learning rate needs in typical public school. If his parents are pushing him into this, I hope they realize that the kid will not have a lot of the priceless memories and experiences that one has growing up with his or her peers in the teen years and early college days. Most of the majors he described seem to be actually doable. Some colleges like for an associates in mathematics tend to be light in the amount of classes you have to take. In my college, to get such associates in math, you’ll need 3 calculus classes, 3 units from the list A, and 3 from list B. (Basically one class from list A and list B) These majors seem to make quite some sense and can be done if you have the determination of only focusing on studying.

These people are just right: there is a big difference between an associates and a bachelor's. I got 4 associates in a year and a half and double majored in math in physics. The latter two get much more complicated at upper level. For a 12 year old, this is better in my mind, loading up on associates, since he can get his feet wet and see what he wants to do. Maybe too rushed still, idk. I have stories from my youth I love telling because it paints a different picture of what you see today. Being impressive with degrees can make someone 1D... Does this surprise you. I lived and studied in Taiwan, China, and Japan. The kids there compete and work hard for the best places in city high schools and national universities. The system is based on merit and hard work. I retired after 26 years in public education in Texas and was shocked at how far behind the American kids were. I pushed both my boys and found a good Catholic school for them. Both got scholarships to universities and were on the dean's list as honor students. One was a commended National Merit Scholar and recently got his Masters from the London School of Business after almost ten years as Expat in Asia. The other holds a good productive job and is looking at law school. Both were Eagle Scouts.

Bro's got 5 degrees while I'm struggling to get even 1, this kid is definitely talented and gifted. Although I hope all the Asian parents who see this story don't use it as a pretense to pressure their children into getting more than 1 college degree before the age of 18. This 12-year-old is very much the exception and not the rule
