Freddie, looking at The Wurks videos, I do hope you will be seeking reimbursement from Kingdom Motorcycles. They have committed all manner legal and moral codes not to mention ripping you off financially. They clearly did not do the work necessary, or replace most of the parts you were charged for. Apologies for the negativity but I’ve just experienced a similar set of circumstances. Seeing The Wurks video ( ie. how it should be done) it’s opened old wounds. These people need naming and shaming to make them think twice before they repeat their sins. A collaboration with the black best barrister would make good viewing. Looking forward to further progress on the Bonnie. I have sufficient mechanical knowledge to be sure you will be getting a better reborn version back for The Wurks, what a fine chap he is👍👍

6th February 2024 and I just went back to rewatch this after seeing Jo on the Wurks channel diagnosing the cam timing issues and the loose spark plug etc. Oh, dear. Freddie, you must really document all these problems and seek redress from who ever did such shoddy work. I know you would have happily paid £5000 to get your bike back but, man, someone saw you coming

Freddie after 54 years of riding I've found the secret for motorcycle longevity regardless of brand (excluding KTM) is regular maintenance, replacing wear items before they break, and keeping the bikes clean. Having good brand longevity DNA is helpful but doesn't cover up for poor maintenance. I have seen many brand models with generally poor reputations that go on forever when lovely looked after.

Congrats on getting the Bonnie back. I had a Silver Jimny Sz5 from new in 2020 up until last year covering 12k miles... until the lure of getting £7k more than I paid for it (from we buy any car) was too much and I sold up. I absolutely loved the Jimny. Full of character, super cool retro looks, received plenty of attention and always put a smile on my face whether I was driving it or simply looking at it on the drive. Driving wise it wasn't so great, short trips were fine, but limited practically so I always had the rear seats down for extra load space. Access to the rear couldn't have been easier to load and unload. 4 wheel drive through deep snow in the Highlands it was unstoppable. Side winds were scary shoving the car about and a little wallowy on the corners. On longer drives come the downsides, plenty of in cabin noise and the gear box really needs another gear as it felt strained even at 70! I suppose what's to be expected when driving a car with the aerodynamic properties of a brick 😂. I can forgive all this though and whenever I see one now I just wish I hadn't sold it.

How many times on video you have made comments about Aprilia, Ducati, and other Italian brands not having a large enough parts distribution system and you warn people to avoid those brands for that reason. Then the irony of you needing a simple gasket for your beloved, locally made Triumph results in a 4 month wait for the part. So if I have to wait 3 months for an Aprilia part, or 2 months for a Ducati part, am I not better off for having bought the more exotic bike? 🤣

Move to Aus Freddie, Suzuki Jimny still on sale - none of your Euro V nonsense here (sadly). But even here price is crazy for what it is - cheapest base 2023 model manual I can find is AUD 37K (about GBP 19.5). If you want to see what they are like, check out the LateBrakeShow (Johnny Smith) - his wife owned one for a year. Horrible little things if you ask me, but I think I'm definitely in the minority on that one.

Freddie, what size is your number plate and letters ? just wondered, as DVLA state “The standard size of a UK motorcycle plate is nine by seven inches (230mm x 178mm). There are no laws that regulate their size. However, the letters themselves are regulated. Beginning in 2001, all motorcycle registration characters must be 64mm in height with a width of 44mm.” Interesting

Great seeing your Bonnie back, luckily you are not in Australia as you would have been charged for more than $3000 for all these items and labour. I know 1 pound =1.9 AUD, but we are paid in AUD anyway and I still believe bike mechanic labour is super expensive. In August I had to write my beloved Z650RS off because of a minor damage to the frame and the fact that the total labour cost to replace the frame was more than a brand new one. Luckily the insurance company replaced it with a 2023 Model for me, but I still think what a waste was that!

I have never ridden a motorbike and at 58 I have just done my CBT, theory test and next week my Mod 1 and then my Mod 2 the following week. I have already bought the bike I want ( Triumph Street Twin) but it has the full size number plate which looks awful. I know the law says 9 x 7 unless it has less than 7 digits. But I'm wondering, do the police actually stop and fine you for small plates?

Initially I was confused by Your phrase "can you MOT it for me" because in my country, Latvia that is, there is one government controlled institution that does MOT for all vehicles including cars. Independent shops can't MOT anything here. That avoids any chance of corruption, since it's neutral institution and it's made so that you do not know, which gates and guy will check your car, it's selected randomly by computer as soon as you enter the place. And since country is super small, usually queues are ~1h max. Congrats on getting bonny back on road, beautiful bike and reunion.

This looks really bad on Triumph. They can't really blame Covid in 2023. They NEED to supply consumerable spares for all Hinckley bikes and most certainly from the the last 15 years. This devalues them and makes their bike look like a cheap throwaway product in the eyes of riders.

Fantastic to have the Bonnie back; there's something special about having your own bike back. I used to have a Suzuki Vstrom 650, 2010 K9, and it was a brilliant bike. Sadly it was written off when I was rear-ended, but I did get it back after a month of riding an MT09 Tracer. The Tracer was a beast, far faster and more exciting and on paper more competent all round, but the elation of getting MY Vstrom back was unparalleled. That said, as a viewer it's been a lovely 120 days of not having to hear that exhaust rattle so perhaps you can round that repair bill off to a nice thousand and get a new silencer too haha 😉

Glad you got the Bonnie back. What exactly was wrong with it? 800 doesn't sound too bad for having to take the top end apart. Seems like your inspections are tougher than the ones they do here in the states. I'm in Virginia and have to bring my bike to the gas station once a year for a 12 dollar safety inspection, which is a quick check of lights, horn and signals...and they peek at the brake pads without taking anything apart. It takes about 3 minutes. Our DMV doesn't even look at the bike when you register and title it.

How can you go around openly with an illegal plate, yet it's not possible to gain an MOT for the same illegal plate? Do you swap the illegal and legal plates off/on for the purposes of MOT, with the understanding that the police don't care in the interim? Or is that a risk you are taking?

Hey Freddie! I know getting that back feels great. Is that a riding jacket? I'd love to know the brand.

My Sportster out lasted all of my Hondas put together. Honda's go on forever until the cam chain breaks and ruins your engine.

Your MOT tester was being very pedantic to be honest. he could have "made one up" for you to get you through but hey ho.....its done!
