My great grandfather was a carpenter blacksmith embalmer and funeral director. I have his Tennessee Funeral Director’s framed license. He built his own house after dear beloved Bess was struck and killed on the train tracks by his business and house. I learned as a 12 year old that Bess was the family milk cow. None of my grandmother’s or siblings could talk about it without tearing up. 😢
Love hearing about these stories of old. So sad that not many left to tell them😢 If it weren't for all the struggles of the people of that era, we would not be here today.❤
Robert, You sure get some interesting “side step adventures”. Very enjoyable. So respectful to hear these long passed persons names spoken in these explanations of history. 🇺🇸
It is interesting how the funeral homes were usually part of a family owned variety of businesses back then. Furniture store, real-estate agency, and street names are left behind even 100 years after the funeral home may have closed.
Gosh, this was so interesting, and Mike is an encyclopaedia of knowledge. Thank you so much from Queensland, Australia, for sharing this, I really enjoyed it.😊
Wow it would be great to see these old stores and their contents preserved as a museum. Would hate to see all this later sold, just left to go bad or destroyed. Thanks for sharing!
That’s why I’ve always loved Georgia, so much great n interesting history. It’s amazing that Mr. Mike’s building( for storage)are still standing as they’re certainly full of some wonderful stuff. I love stuff like that. I remember Junction City. I believe as a child we’ve driven through it many a times (that was in the early 60tys). It’s so sad to see it just about all gone. Thanks Robert. ♥️♥️😊👍👍👍🌟🌟
What a great antique store! I love seeing the old relics of these places. Takes me back in time. I'm happy that people like you and Mike are writing about and preserving these treasures of American life.

Wonderful video, i absolutely love history and this kind, of how these towns started and grew and all those that made it a community, born lived worked and died.😊❤
Those buildings looked a whole lot better on the inside than they do from the outside. Well preserved innards! Robert, you must be watching Aventure Archeology! I was impressed with you knowledge of Cherocola and to look as to where the bottle was made! But you have been watching it longer than I have. I had never heard of it or Brandon Nichols until I saw him metal detect at the OBF. I have watched him every since, so thanks for making me aware of him!
Chero-Cola originated here in Columbus (along with Coca-Cola but that’s a discussion for another time) and is always one of my favorite sodas. I’ve collected and dug bottles for years, which led me to Adventure Archeology early in my RU-vid days. Was super excited when he came to the farm and I need to get him back down this way!
Good to see Mr. Buckner up and about and doing well. How is the work coming along on the old house he was redoing you and Dan went to? Sure would like an update on that. Speaking of houses when are we getting back to the OBF? I guess the garden is done by now,it's been a long hot summer hasn't it? Your intern back in school I suppose. Well,y'all take care and see ya soon.❤from Ky.
