How to modify an off the shelf Canon 1200D DSLR (T5 Rebel) for use in astrophotography. This part 1 video deals with the tools needed, stripdown and removal of the LPF#2 filter, greatly increasing the camera sensitivity to Ha wavelengths as emitted by nebulae.
The rebuild and testing will be dealt with in the next part 2 video.
Thanks to Gary Honis at dslrmodification.com for producing great pictorial guides for undertaking these modifications. I followed his guide on the T5 whilst making this video.
